Norwegian Escape Cruise Ship Video Tour and Review
See our top 10 reasons for sailing on Norwegian Escape on Cruise Fever here: https://cruisefever.net/02021-top-10-reasons-to-cruise-on-norwegian-escape/ Norwegian Escape is a Breakaway Plus class ship and is currently the largest in the cruise line's fleet. It's sister ship, Norwegian Bliss, is set to sail in spring of 2018. This video tour and review takes you through the 164,000 gross ton ship and highlights some of its features. I was only able to be on the ship for a few hours before it set sail on its inaugural cruise so I'm sure some areas were left out. Next time I'm on Norwegian Escape I will be sure to check out the Haven for myself as I heard so many great things about it. You can see a video of the Penthouse Suite with an Aft view on the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lqepRe-XDc

10 Worst Cruise Cabins on a Ship ~ How to Avoid Bad Staterooms
There are 10 cabins on a cruise you might want to stay away from. We are going through the 10 worst cabins on a cruise ship. To read more on why you should avoid these cabins check out our post here: https://cruisefever.net/1021-cabins-on-cruises-that-should-be-avoided/ If you’re living on a cruise ship for a few days you’re already doing pretty good in life, but not all staterooms are created equal. Before you book your cruise, make sure you know what kind of stateroom you’re getting. We recommend you stay away from these 10 cabins on a cruise ship. Related: How to make the most of interior cabins on a cruise: https://cruisefever.net/how-to-make-the-most-of-inside-cabins-on-cruises/ 1.Cabins directly above or below clubs and lounges. Unless you plan on heading to your cabin after 1 a.m. each night for sleep, you should try to avoid cabins that are directly over or below the ship’s clubs and bars. The bass of the subwoofers in the clubs can easily be heard in these staterooms. 2. Cabins above the theater. Unfortunately, the cabin walls on cruise ships are not sound proof. While they do block a fair amount of noise, you will still be able to hear music in the staterooms directly above the theater. If shows are over by 11pm this may not be much of an issue. 3. Cabins directly below the pool deck. Each morning, staff members will begin to rearrange and organize the pool deck loungers getting the lido deck ready for the day. While some crew members will lift and move the loungers, many will drag them across the lido deck floor waking up passengers who are sleeping directly below. See unique cabins found on Carnival cruise ships: https://cruisefever.net/unique-cabins-found-on-carnival-cruise-ships/ 4. Obstructed view cabins. Not everyone loves the idea of having a bright orange lifeboat as their view outside their ocean view cabin. While I still think that’s better than having no view at all, it’s something to keep in mind when booking a stateroom. 5. Adjoining Cabins. Adjoining cabins are great for larger families as many staterooms only hold a maximum of 4-5 passengers. However, due to the extra door between the cabins, you can often hear conversations from louder neighbors in the adjoining cabin next to you. The door is not as soundproof as the walls. 6. Cabins with little privacy. Remember that some balcony cabins face inward and so will have views of a promenade or passengers right across the way. While curtains are there for a reason, there’s little point in having a balcony if you don’t use it. Just remember that privacy will not be a premium in these cabins. 7. Balcony cabins directly below public areas. On some ships there are balconies that are perfectly visible from the pool deck or other public areas as they jut out from the ship slightly. So, if you are enjoying your balcony on a beautiful day you may turn around and look up to see another passenger. This can be an awkward moment. This goes along with the lack of privacy, but not everyone may mind this. 8. Cabins prone to motion. I personally don’t mind cabins in the very front or back of the ship, (in fact I prefer that wonderful aft view) but for those who are worried about motion sickness, you might want to choose a cabin somewhere in the middle, where a rocking ship isn’t as noticeable. 9. Cabins near the anchor. Early birds won’t be affected by this one, but for those who want to sleep-in, steer clear of cabins near the anchor. You will hear quite the clanging noise when the ship is dropping anchor at port. 10. Cabins on the lower decks. Yes, these cabins are often the cheapest on the ship, but they more affordable for a reason. Cabins on deck 1 or 2 are further away from all the activities on the ship and elevators are often crowded. On the plus side, you will save money and can get a great work out if you plan on taking the stairs. Hope this list helps you plan your next cruise cabin location. Be sure to study those deck plans before reserving your stateroom. Are there certain cabins you try to avoid? Any stateroom nightmares you care to share? Let us know in the comments below…

10 Things You Should Do Before Your Cruise - Every Time
Need advice on travel insurance? Check out our tips on Cruise Fever here: https://cruisefever.net/0805-travel-insurance-5-reasons-why-you-should-consider-purchasing-it/ Get more info with our post on what to do before your cruise here: https://cruisefever.net/0321-things-you-should-do-before-your-cruise/ 10 Things You Should Do Before Your Cruise 1. Check-in online. Don't wait too late on this one. Most cruise lines will allow you to check-in online up until 24-72 hours before your cruise. Getting those boarding documents ahead of time will save you time at the port. By the way, some cruise lines let you check-in all from your phone these days. 2. Double-check your documents. Most countries will not allow you to enter if your passport expires within 6 months, and it can take 4-6 weeks to get a new passport. So you need to prepare well in advance for this one. Also, see if there are any visa requirements for the ports of call you will be visiting. 3. Study your ship. Going over your ship's deck plans and understanding the general layout will do 2 things. It will help you navigate the ship upon first arrival, and it will help you know everything the ship has to offer. Nothing like getting to day 5 on the cruise before you find out there was a free dry sauna available the whole time. 4. Plan those excursions. Too many people wait until they are on the ship to do this one. But some excursions will sell out well before this. Find out what excursions are available so you can budget both time and money for them. You might be at some of those ports only once in your life, so make it count. 5. Plan ahead for any transfers. Whether you book your airport transfer through the ship or on your own, have a game-plan for how you're going to get from point A to point B. And make sure any extra costs are in your vacation budget as well. 6. Know what you DON'T need to bring. Too many first-time cruisers will bring way too much stuff. Know what the cruise line already offers. Things like hairdryers, towels, soap and shampoo, etc. Keep it simple. Go light on the packing and heavy on the planning. And remember, you can do laundry on the ship. 7. Notify your bank and credit card companies. You don't want to have to deal with the hassle of your debit or credit card being locked out while trying to use it on foreign soil. When you notify your financial institution you should also ask about any travel perks they may offer, like medical insurance or no foreigh transaction fees. 8. Know about data-roaming. If you don't turn off data-roaming on your cell phone you might find a major bill when you get home from your cruise. The ship's cell tower's are not cheap to use. Check with your phone provider to see what kind of options they offer for roaming off network. 9. Buy Travel Insurance. More than anything, this just gives you peace of mind, especially if you're really splurging on your cruise. Many reasonable rates can be found through 3rd parties. Just check what exactly is covered. See a link in the description for more advice on travel insurance before a cruise. 10. Save those small bills. Having $1's and $5's is always a good idea. You can use these bills for tipping the porter, room service attendant, and taxi drivers at ports where US currency is accepted. Save yourself that awkward moment from trying to get change for your $50 dollar bill by saving some small bills. What do you do before every cruise? Any tips or advice to share? We'd love to hear from you in our never-ending quest to expose Cruise Fever to the masses.
