Marginal Revenue Product, Marginal Product of Labor, MRP, MPL Explanation

03:08
For the Advanced Microeconomics Review please go to: http://bit.ly/2aj1txm "AP" is owned by the College Board which does not endorse this site or the above review. Study questions: 1) How does a firm determine how many workers to use? 2) How is MRP & MPL calculated? 3) If the wage of employees in perfect competition goes up, what would you expect to happen to the number of workers that the firm uses? 4) If demand for the product goes up (so price goes up), what would you expect to happen to the number of employees used? Explain 5) Based on the numbers below, state how many workers you think should be used. Assume that the product is produced in a perfectly competitive market where price = $2. Also, assume that labor is in a perfectly competitive market, with a going wage of $40 per day... # of workers 0 & output = 0 # of workers 1 & output = 30 # of workers 2 & output = 50 # of workers 3 & output = 65 # of workers 4 & output = 75 # of workers 5 & output = 79 6) Do the output numbers in question five show the law of diminishing marginal returns? Why or why not?

The Difference Between a Product and Service - How to Market a Service

05:23
http://smartmarketinggroup.com/timeblocks.htm Les: What is the obstacle you're running into most? Lorna: Well, I would love to hear your perspective on the difference between marketing a service and a product. Because you can return a product you can't return a service. Les: There's a thing that they both have in common, that most people forget. It's called the WIIFM factor. When you go out and buy something, why do you buy it? Lorna: I buy for several reasons, sometimes i Need the item, sometimes I have extra money, or something that I would love to have. Les: The reason I ask that question, is because most people's communications are selling features, not benefits. What WIIFM stands for is "What's in it for me?" And that is what most communicators fail at. Consumers are not interested in WHAT you're selling, but how are yuo going to make them more successful, richer, better looking etc. But if it is not focused on the benefits, it falls on deaf ears more often than not. And this goes the same with service, if I'm going to spend money on a service I want to know how is it going to make my job easier. When you talk about training, it is not something you can put your hands on physically, but it will enhance the value in life. Where ever there is a problem, there is an opportunity. Talk from the perspective of the audience you're trying to influence and that comes from training. You're in a business to teach them to be proactive, instead of reactive. There's a thing called the 4 rules of Smart Marketing and you're dealing mainly with the first rule. People are afraid of change, but change is constant. And if you don't change, you short change your life. You need to explain to people that "I'm going to teach you how to be open minded, I'm going to teach you have to be more acceptable of change. It's not so much product verses service, it's presentation. And the presentation isn't in a powerpoint, it is "Am I talking from the perspective of the audience?" And that is one of the biggest mistakes that I've seen over the last 5 decades. And you can ask your clients to list the benefits of why people will buy from you. Lorna: Well, I have done that and I've discovered that that is where they really do have a problem identifying the benefits. Then they all clam up and they believe that you if you speak of the features of this thing, they think you must be stupid if you can't see the benefits. Why are you asking me? You have the work in front of you to see the benefits. Les: Well there's an answer to that. In order for someone to grasp the message, you have to be redundant. Studies have shown that consumers have to see your message 17 times before it registers. Lorna: That many? Les: Yeah Lorna: Wow Les: Maybe even worse today with all the clutter that's out there. And that's the way I would come back to people. Hey, there are a lot of people out there that won't grasp the benefits as quickly as you "mr. genius" does. You have to make sure that is it your goal to show how smart you are, or is it to sell your product or service? One of the things I've learned over the years, if people are objecting you, ask them questions that you already know the questions to. It will make them think.

How price is determined in perfect competition

02:57
This movie goes over how price is determined in a perfectly competitive market. Sometimes its confusing to see the "price taker" idea applied, and this movie shows how the individual firm takes the price from the whole market as its price. More information on perfect competition and prices is available at: https://www.freeeconhelp.com/2011/09/calculating-equilibrium-values-for.html The trick here is to remember that firms operating in perfect competition are price takers and that price is determined in the market place. The equilibrium price from the market place is then transferred to the perfectly competitive firm's individual revenue and cost graph for analysis.

Pig Universal Absorbent Mat - The Strongest, Toughest Mat on the Market

03:01
http://bit.ly/pigmat - Pig Universal Absorbent Mats are the strongest and longest-lasting out there. That's why PIG Mats are the #1 selling brand in the world. In this video, see the differences between traditional clay floor sweep and the PIG Universal Absorbent Mat. Pig Mats work quickly to absorb oil, water, solvents, and coolant. These spill containment mats are excellent at retaining liquid, so you can pick them up and throw them away without worrying about dripping everywhere. In contrast, clay floor sweep can be messy and time-consuming to sweep up. Absorbent mats can also help you avoid slips, trips, and falls around spills, keeping everyone safer. Customers ranked durability as the #1 factor when choosing an absorbent mat. That's why New Pig's mats are the most durable out there. We simulate tests of foot traffic on our mats vs. the competitor's, as well as a stress test to see which is stronger. There's a Pig Mat for just about any use, and they come in a variety of sizes and rolls. See for yourself: http://bit.ly/pigmat

Chapter 8 - Understanding Market and Industry Changes

10:24
Chapter 8 Video Lecture Managerial Economics: A Problem Solving Approach by Luke Froeb, Brian McCann Summary of Main Points Chapter 8 -- A market has a product, geographic, and time dimension. Define the market before using supply--demand analysis. -- Market demand describes buyer behavior; market supply describes seller behavior in a competitive market. -- If price changes, quantity demanded increases or decreases (represented by a movement along the demand curve). -- If a factor other than price (like income) changes, we say that demand curve increases or decreases (a shift of demand curve). -- Supply curves describe the behavior of sellers and tell you how much will be sold at a given price. -- Market equilibrium is the price at which quantity supplied equals quantity demanded. If price is above the equilibrium price, there are too many sellers, forcing price down, and vice versa.

Economic Production

01:28
VOICE NARRATOR: A business firm uses inputs: raw materials, capital goods, and labor, to make a product to sell to consumers, to make a profit. Let's look at a change in prices. If the input prices rise, the inputs cost more of course, so the firm must raise the consumers' price, to make the same profit. But with a higher consumer price, the consumer demand may drop, and then the firm will buy less inputs. So there is a back and forth adjustment of input and output, as the firm tries to make a profit. The firm could review the mix of inputs, and perhaps find lower costs. For example, if wages increase, the firm may purchase a new machine instead, to do it for less, and reduce labor. This is called factor substitution. Or perhaps a new raw material can be used that is cheaper. If business is booming, then another firm may come in, to make the same product, but sell it at a lower price. Then the consumers go there. This is called business competition.

How to Reduce Bad Cholesterol

02:29
Watch more Healthy Eating videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/432350-How-to-Reduce-Bad-Cholesterol A little attention to detail never hurt anyone and may have benefits if it involves monitoring what you put in your body. Reduce your bad cholesterol through simple disciplined measures that are proven to help. Step 1: Disrupt fat with exercise Use exercise to naturally disrupt the metabolism of fat. Eating less helps, but excess body fat will keep cholesterol up until you actually lose pounds by breaking a sweat. Moderate walking and workouts five days a week can raise good cholesterol by 10 percent. Tip The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health suggests everyone 20 and over should check their levels of bad cholesterol every five years. Step 2: Relax and reflect Relax and reflect periodically, rather than give in to the high tension that constricts arteries and raises blood pressure. If you're constantly stressing out, consider making some long-term changes that will eliminate some of your stres for good. Step 3: Get good greens Drink green tea, full of compounds that can help lower bad cholesterol. Eat leafy greens as well, for soluble fiber that sponges up cholesterol in the digestive tract. Step 4: Consume nuts Consume nuts instead of cheese, meat, or croutons in salads. According to the Food and Drug Administration, a daily handful of 42.5 grams of nuts may reduce cholesterol and the risk of heart disease. Step 5: Substitute fish Substitute meat with fish twice or three times weekly. Consuming fish can profoundly lower cholesterol and triglycerides. Step 6: Choose smart fats Select smart fats for your diet, substituting canola or olive oils for vegetable oil, butter, margarine, lard, or shortening. It's not merely fats, but the kind of fats you eat, that make the difference. Tip Eggs do not drastically increase cholesterol. Step 7: Take drugs to lower cholesterol Take a cholesterol-lowering drug if you have evident cardiovascular risks. Beforehand, consider alternatives like niacin, bile acid resins, and fibrates. Step 8: Commit to win Resolve to make changes, and live a healthy lifestyle. It's your life -- only you can make the changes to lower your bad cholesterol. Did You Know? In 2010, researchers identified nearly 100 gene variants possibly linked to as much as one third of hereditary factors influencing cholesterol production.

PROMATIS BPM Business Process Management (english)

04:33
Logistics and trade industry: Customers expect fast delivery and absolute dependability. Efficiency is paramount here to meet the challenges of increasingly demanding markets. Changeability becomes a critical success factor. All parties involved must work together closely so that this orchestra of logistics, business processes and customer service will interact perfectly. Processes have to be optimized, collaboration has to be organized. Modern software technology helps in this case. The solution is called "Business Process Management". How does this work? Along with the enterprise, the PROMATIS business experts collect business processes in graphical models to begin with. The models are then made available to specific departments utilizing secure Web 2.0 technologies. Social BPM at its best! External business partners can be integrated over the Internet. A networked business community is the result that can now examine the models, expanding and refining them as needed. Everyone must make a contribution to ensure that all aspects of the business process are gathered so that the resulting solution is then accepted and used by everyone involved. Changeability is THE critical success factor for any enterprise today. The business process model must be brought to life for this change to become reality: The transition to the Oracle BPM Suite takes place per generator. The results are directly executable BPMN models within a precise IT architecture. Enterprise-critical processes must work seamlessly with enterprise applications, however. The IT department will ensure that this takes place: They will allow the BPM Suite to securely access SAP applications, data warehouses, document management systems or business-to-business interfaces via Web services. Human workflow, office document integration, email and more? No problem for the Oracle BPM Suite. All personnel involved are integrated into the process by using customized Web portals, allowing them to quickly and easily access or enter information as needed. External business partners can also be securely integrated in this way, of course. For example, this way, an ordered replacement part can be seamlessly tracked from the manufacturer all the way to the time of delivery. And the interesting thing lies in the details: How are processing times put together, where do costs arise, at which points did questions come up? It's particularly in change processes, when monitoring of business activities and the impact analysis of these changes present themselves as a benefit. As an example, one can nicely see how the frequency of queries in the process analysis portal decreases significantly. Using business process management, one can optimize and efficiently control enterprise processes in all areas: Finance, human resources, supply chain, sales, customer service and so on. PROMATIS has implemented business process management solutions in various industries for more than 15 years now, including financial services, the manufacturing industry, for service providers and in trade. Our customers are major enterprises and the upper middle class. PROMATIS stands for intelligent business processes and the use of advanced software technologies. As an Oracle Platinum Partner, PROMATIS relies on efficient standard software products from the market leader Oracle - openness, scalability and sustainability included. Business Process Management helps you - To actively respond to changes in the market - To organize collaboration - To optimize processes - To reduce business risks - To ensure governance and compliance To meet future challenges So that your enterprise will interact perfectly - just like an orchestra.

Many of the most successful technology enterprises were launched as products, observes Marc Andreessen, serial entrepreneur, including Facebook, Twitter, and others. He states that tools created this way are based purely on market demand, making these applications much more compelling. To the contrary, companies that establish themselves first and then work to craft an application have their achievements, but they are more likely to plummet into failure. Entrepreneurs approaching from this angle can too often fool themselves into believing they have a tool of value.

Sustaining Your Prospecting Pipeline

26:57
Success in selling life insurance, especially in the first two years in the business, requires that the agent maintain a steady stream of qualified individuals, households, and business professionals to talk to about insurance. Prospecting is the process of gaining access to these prospects in a meaningful way. There are many tools and techniques available to the agent to generate qualified suspects to approach. By qualified suspects we mean those individuals who, because of their age, profession, income, etc., may indicate an interest or a need to speak with you about life insurance. Direct mail, purchased leads, website lead generation, and seminars are all examples of tools to gather names and information. The process for sustaining a prospecting pipeline includes two critical parts. The first step is to mine the sources that are available to you for generating names. These fall into two categories: your natural market and the developed market. The natural market, also known as "friends and family", is those people who know you or are acquainted with you in some way. Your natural market includes family members, friends, co-workers, etc. You also have what we call close ties to your natural market. These include service providers such as your contractor, hair stylist, auto mechanic, etc. Your natural market has the advantages of easier access and a shorter time frame for generating sales. The developed market includes the vast landscape of individuals who don't know you; they are "cold" prospects. The developed market offers a greater opportunity to sell, but requires more time and money than your natural market. A key to success with the developed market is to create a detailed plan for accessing this universe using SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time-sensitive) goals. You need to decide what market segments you want to work in (small business owners, professionals, high net-worth individuals) and develop a budget and time frame for measuring success. Gaining access is not enough, and this leads to the second critical factor to sustain your prospecting pipeline. You need to have a compelling value proposition, or "elevator speech", that will motivate a prospect to want to meet with you. A well-crafted elevator speech answers the questions your prospects are thinking and may ask, "What do you do?" and "How do you do that?" It also creates a lasting impression of you in their minds.

Next, visit http://UpperFaceRevitalization.com to watch a Free Video on Anti-Aging, and to discover a 100% natural way to: Improve droopy eyebrows and eyelids, Smooth forehead wrinkles, Correct eyebrow symmetry, and Take 10 years off your face! All in just a few minutes a day! VIDEO TRANSCRIPT ------------------------------- Resveratrol Anti Aging To help you retain that unblemished, youthful look, the cosmetics industry is ready with a thousand and one products that will make sure you win this battle against aging and skin imperfections. One such problem that we have to face is stretch marks. They are formed when your skin, that has been stretched for too long, cannot go back to its original shape after the cause for the stretching is gone. One item that is specifically designed to fight this is Resveratrol anti-aging products. What Are Stretch Marks This is one problem that both men and women face. Another thing is that it only happens to adults and rarely in children. Pregnancy and weight gain are two factors that lead to our skin being stretched to a certain point for a long a time. The main places you will see this striations on your skin are upper arms, belly, buttocks and thighs. Again, people with dark skin will show their stretch marks more prominently because striations are light in color. It's a common problem because stretch marks are really unsightly. What Is Resveratrol Resveratrol is a naturally occurring polyphenol. It is present in foods such as peanuts, berries, grapes and red wine. Resveratrol anti aging properties are well known, and it can help anything from heart conditions and cancers to weight loss and other age-related problems. This substance made its appearance in the market around 2006 and was marketed as dietary supplements that will help people to regain their youthful look and also lose weight. Relation Between Resveratrol And Stretch Marks Resveratrol anti aging properties make it perfect to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and that is why manufacturers proclaim that it is perfect for reducing stretch marks. That is because it is loose skin that results in both these conditions. So if the aging process is slowed down, the skin cells can retain their youthful attributes of flexibility and firmness. They will be less susceptible to the damages of environmental pollution that lead to looseness and thinness. Resveratrol in a cream form rapidly reduces the appearance of stretch marks and that is why renowned TV show hosts like Oprah Winfrey and Barbara Walters, along with TV doctor Dr. Oz, have endorsed this product. Researchers are always looking to find a better way to isolate and concentrate this compound. How Effective Is Resveratrol On Stretch Marks It will be the product that will determine how good the Resveratrol anti aging property will be for you. Many products with varied concentration as well as in different solutions are available in the market that has Resveratrol - you have to make an informed choice. Is There Any Contraindications? Resveratrol is one compound that rarely shows any contraindications as it is found in foods in very low amounts. But sometimes the other ingredients in a Resveratrol anti aging product may not suit you, so check the labels of the supplements and creams thoroughly for any product that has a history of causing allergies or reactions in you. What is Network Marketing, Home Based Business Opportunity

07:35
http://www.BestHomeBusinessOnline.info Migdalia & Arsteo What is Network Marketing, Home Based Business Opportunity? Network marketing is a business model that is based on a company distributing products and services through a network of independent contractors. Network marketing is also popularly known as multi-level marketing (MLM), affiliate marketing, and tiered marketing. http://www.BestHomeBusinessOnline.info To understand how network marketing works, it may be helpful to think of a business model that most consumers are familiar with, franchising. In a franchise, an owner pays a company for the right to do business using that company's products, services, and name. The parent company agrees to provide the owner with training, development, advertising and marketing support. While the name on the outside of the building is that of the parent company, the actual location is privately owned by an independent business owner. http://www.BestHomeBusinessOnline.info While networking marketing is not actually a franchising model of business, it does work in a similar fashion. In fact some large MLM companies refer to its business plan informally as "private franchising". In network marketing, a company distributes its products and services through independent business owners (IBO) who in turn market these products and services to customers of their own. http://www.BestHomeBusinessOnline.info The key factor that has made network marketing so attractive is that independent business owners not only have the ability to sell products and services to retail customers they are also able to expand their business by setting up others in their own businesses as well. This is commonly known as "sponsoring" in the MLM industry. Sponsoring others allow a business owner to not only profit from what he directly sells, but also allows him to profit from the sales production of those he has sponsored. http://www.BestHomeBusinessOnline.info Because of the structure of a network marketing business, many people mistakenly believe that all MLM companies are illegal pyramid schemes. In actuality legitimate network marketing companies are not pyramids. The belief that MLM companies are illegal pyramid schemes may have popularly taken root in 1975, when the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC) accused Amway Corporation of being an illegal pyramid. However in 1979 a US Federal Judge determined that the networking marketing plan used by Amway was indeed a legitimate business model. This decision in turn helped to legitimize other MLM companies. This does not mean however that all companies who purport to be legitimate businesses, are. The entrepreneur who is considering network marketing should consider these factors: * The length of time the company has been in business. * The up-front investment to start the business. Many reputable companies do not require a large start-up fee. * The product return policy of the company. Legitimate companies generally allow for the return of products. * The amount of training and development available to IBOs. Migdalia & Aristeo http://BestHomeBusinessOnline.info

Partnering: success in the 21st century Pt 2 - Allan Jarvis

15:00
Subscribe: http://www.youtube.com/user/vaccinenation One of the more popular speakers at the Congress, Allan Jarvis of Sanofi-Pasteur, spoke on the role of partnering to accelerate growth. As a backdrop for the most recent discussion, he gave an overview of Sanofi's strategy on the first day of the Congress. There are two key forces that drive big pharma to partner with others throughout the value chain: fueling the R&D pipeline and gaining access to new markets. Fueling the R&D pipeline The product pipeline is at the heart of a pharma company's future prospects. In Sanofi's pipeline are vaccines against dengue fever, rotavirus, and pneumococcal as well as better versions of pediatric combination vaccines. However, partnership is required to advance these products as judged by the fact that 65% of products in clinical testing are a result of partnerships. These relationships are even more important in preclinical studies where 80% of products are from partnerships. Sanofi has a broad interest in partnerships that is not restricted to just acquiring product candidates. They are looking for new antigens, formulations, delivery systems, and even outsourced research or manufacturing capabilities. As an example, Sanofi has partnered with the Naval Medical Research Center to develop a vaccine against travelers' diarrhea. They have also partnered with VaxDesign to use the proprietary surrogate human immune system product to accelerate product evaluation. Gaining access to new markets Looking at annual birth cohorts, the four countries of Mexico, Brazil, India and China represent nearly 50 million births. That compares to only 8 million births every year in the combined countries of Western Europe and the United States. These relatively untapped markets represent compound annual growth rates of 15%-20% thanks to the growth of both public and private spending, a renewed focus on strong childhood healthcare, and the many unmet vaccination needs. For instance, China will be the second largest vaccine market by 2020. The Chinese government increased spending on the national immunization plan by a factor of ten from 2006 to 2007 and nearly doubled the number of diseases covered. The prospects for the Indian market are similar. However, there are some inherent challenges to entering these markets. Sanofi has mitigated these by partnering with local developers and manufacturers. With Birmex in Mexico, they built a manufacturing facility that can produce 25M doses per year. In Brazil, Sanofi joined with Instituto Butantan to locally produce flu vaccines; the result of that collaboration is expected to expand immunization rates, improve the local response to pandemics and serve as a foundation for the introduction of other vaccines. Cross Cultural Design: Getting It Right the First Time

04:56
Apala Lahiri Chavan talks about the issues in involved in designing for emerging markets - http://www.humanfactors.com/project/product_ideation.asp Transcript: Designing for Emerging Markets with Apala Lahiri Chavan, MA, MSc, CUA I'm Apala, and I had head a practice in cross cultural design and design for emerging markets. Some people think that you just need to translate the language of your design, switch currencies, and maybe reformat some fields, but actually it usually does not work like that. For example, if you sell deodorants and count the over four billion armpits to be deodorized, that is between India and China, you might feel it's a done deal as long as the product is available in those markets. Yeah, maybe with local language text on the packaging, but, alas, the reality of the ecosystem of your consumers in India and China are very different and very complex and, hence, need much more to be done to actually get the two billion consumers to use your product. I worked on a dialysis unit to be used at home, which worked in America just fine, but in Columbia and India, the story was different. Why? Well, the caregivers who were critical to the successful use of the dialysis unit was so much more relaxed just as a cultural attribute. So what was the impact of that relaxed attitude? Instead of heating the solution to the exact temperature, they would often keep the bag with the solution on the roof to heat in the sunlight or wrap the bag with a blanket for some time. Of course, using the solution heated in this manner would often send the patient to hospital. Now, the designers who had designed the original dialysis unit never imagined that their existent caregivers in any part of the world who could be so relaxed or was semi-literate, or perhaps that the power went out ever so often, and that the water was dangerously dirty. Our teams have actually faced daunting cross cultural challenges. Like you might suppose that the design of a wine cooler would not be hard, except in China where traditionally wine has not been a popular drink and cold drinks are considered unhealthy. The only way we succeeded was to recognize that the Chinese customers do have a passion for stylish furniture. Recently, I was working on a banking system for people from low-income segments in Africa, and it looked to me like the original design had copied the Indian banking system for similar segments, which, of course, works well in India. But in Africa where there is no caste system like there is in India, and overall there is less hierarchy than in India, this Indian system made customers feel like they were being disrespected, and that is not the ideal brand position for a bank. We've learned that the only solution is to design for the local customers' ecosystem and for the local customers' feelings. I remember working on one of the early micro finance systems, and we initially had grand visions for advanced icon driven and sound driven applications for our illiterate or semi-literate users. But in the end, what worked was only a legible, yes, a physical legible and a mobile phone with camera because that is the solution that fit. We know a lot about differences between cultures, but in the end, we have to use advanced and customized research methods so that our designs are informed and validated. There is no shortcut to success, and it's an endless journey of discovery. For example, I've been wondering about how to law of reciprocity differs between cultures. How the supposed universal obligation one feels in receiving a gift may be different across cultures. If you have noticed cultural differences in obligations, do drop me an e-mail, and I'll share what we find on HFI Connect. How To Build Your Own Reactive Target

28:09
In this second DIY video I show you how to create your own reactive (or resetting) steel target for under $20 (not including the steel plate). Shooting steel is extremely fun and breaks you from monotony of shooting paper targets. The audible "Ping" created by a hit is good for training purposes, especially at longer ranges, and is also useful in Run N Guns, as will be shown in later videos. One of the main drivers that caused me to make this video was the drive to save you money - a frequent theme that my channel revolves around. Reactive targets from various manufacturers are either cheap (and some are therefore dangerous) and fall apart quickly, or overly expensive (as the market for this type of product is apparently not large enough for companies to offer options at reasonable prices) making reactive targets too expensive for the average shooter's budget. With this design you could build yourself 3 reactive targets for the price of buying one the lowest end models available. The steel itself can be any of a variety available from a host of different target companies (although I discuss the specs I think are necessary for a safe target). In this example I use a "Steel Challenge" target made by a company called Quality Targets. They have reasonable prices and are a great "Made In The USA" company. The company is appropriated named, as the steel they create is of excellent quality, and the price is right. Please be sure to check out their website, they are now added to my "approved list" of companies who do good business: www.qualitytargets.com To build the target as shown I used the following materials: 8' of 2x4 3' of 2x4 for the target arm 4-5' of 1x5 ¼ plank 3' of 1x2 ½" threaded rod, 15" long 2 bungee cords approximately 24" long 4 large steel nails to be used as stakes 1 Lawn mower/tractor tire Assortment of various washers, nuts and bolts 3/8 thick, 8" diameter, Steel Challenge target in AR500 steel (Quality Targets - $60 shipped) Total Price including steel: UNDER $80!!!!!!! As you can see the design is not anything overly complicated. Using 2x4s I fashioned a base 24" in length. The remaining 2x4s are used are used for width and additional strength, measuring 14". The planks serve to mount on the bottom of the target for added stability. The arm of the target is placed so that when the target plate is seated there is a slight downward angle, approximately 20° to 30°. The steel rod is placed so that the 2x4 arm rests at the aforementioned angle by drilling holes in the 2x4s accordingly. The bungee cords are secured on the back of the 2x4 target arm with a screw and washer and are aligned down along the arm, underneath the target and then connected to the steel rod. The tractor tire has two holes drilled into it with a bolt and nut secured into it so that the tire will seat behind the target arm into 2 holes drilled on the small plank arms which are used to make sure the target arm will fall directly backwards upon impact. Then the steel nails are secured into the ground through 4 holes drilled into the base support planks with a rubber mallet. At the end of the first section I show footage from the actual shooting of the target. In the second section of the video I talk a little bit about the science behind shooting steel. It is a little long winded but is a good starting point on the basics on shooting steel. I am not a scientist; everything I talk about is from my own research. I have only recently started in steel shooting and there are not a lot of great sources to find information, so what I tried to do was compile all the relevant details to help those who, like me, are interested in shooting steel. That being said **SHOOT STEEL AT YOUR OWN RISK** I am not responsible for anything that you may try. Follow the directions as the manufacturer of the steel you decide to use instructs. If you are new to shooting steel, I do recommend that you watch the entire second part of the video. The information contained therein, as well as doing your own due diligence is important to steel shooting safety. If you have questions on the design specs or process, please feel free to get in touch with me via PM or comment. This target is easy to set up and very fun to shoot. I hope that you can create your own target and have just as much fun with it as I have had with mine. Thanks for watching and always, have fun and stay safe! --NoMoreOp4

What Is Collagen and What Does It Do

06:16
Visit http://www.FaceTransformation.com for more great articles, videos, and secrets on how to stay young and sexy! http://www.FaceTransformation.com is the place for the best facial exercise programs on the planet, as well as info on all-natural techniques on beauty, health, and anti-aging! VIDEO TRANSCRIPT ------------------------------- What Is Collagen and What Does It Do Whenever you pick up a product for treating aging or see any advertisement of such product, most of the time, there will be mention of the word "collagen" in it one way or another. Have you ever wondered what is collagen? Or why is it considered so important for looking young and healthy? Well to be technical, collagen is a kind of protein that makes up nearly 25% of total amount of proteins found in the bodies of all mammals, including humans. According to American Academy of Dermatology, throughout your body, you have about 25 different types of identifiable collagens! Among them, at least a dozen are more are present in your skin only! That is why, when it comes to skin aging and skin care, it is very important to know thoroughly the answer to the question, "what is collagen". The Roles Of Collagen In search of the answer, you have to first know what are roles that collagen plays in your body, especially in your skin. This abundant protein is responsible for providing to your tissues structural support. That is why fibrous tissues like tendons, cartilages, muscles, ligaments and skin have an abundance of collagen in them. This protein is also found in teeth, bone, lungs and in other internal organs in your body. By working with other proteins like elastin, it connects and supports body tissues; it provides the strength and firmness while elastin provides flexibility. These proteins cells are even working in your blood vessels! Role Of Collagen In Skin Now that you know something regarding the question "what is collagen", let's now learn its role in maintaining our skin. First of all, the middle layer of our skin, the dermis, is mostly made of collagen. According to American Academy of Dermatology, about 80% of the dry weight of dermis is collagen! It forms a fibrous network which helps in the growth of new cells. And along with keratin, collagen provides strength, resilience and flexibility to your skin. When you see stretch marks in your skin, it means this network has broken due to excessive stretching of the skin! Role Of Collagen In Aging Most of the time, you will hear the term "collagen" in relation to skin aging. By the time you are in your mid-20s, the production of collagen slows down and elastic fibers of your skin begin to lose their spring! So if you had not bothered to learn "what is collagen", it is very important that you start learning all you can about this protein by the time you are 30! That is because, in addition to slowing of collagen production, the turnover of new skin cells is also going to decrease with time and you will start noticing fine lines, wrinkles and other signs of aging! We are also responsible for hastening the process; we fail to notice that habits like smoking or sun exposure without any sunscreen accelerates our skin aging. That is why the main purpose of most anti-aging products in the market is to boost collagen production, as that can lead to healthier and younger looking skin. Collagen And Disease We lose collagen not only due to natural aging factor but also due to other reasons as well. One such is the malfunctioning of the structure or in production of collagen modules. Many genetic disorders like Ehlers-Danlos syndrome or acquired diseases like systemic sclerosis also show collagen abnormalities as a manifestation of the problem. When there is a significant decrease in the level of collagen, the patient is said to suffer osteogenesis imperfecta, also known as the brittle bone disease. Medical Use Of Collagen Now that you know thoroughly about what is collagen and why it is important, let us read about the medical use of this protein. You can get collagen from many sources like cow skin, pig skin, from a deceased donor's skin and even from the patient's own skin. The collagen thus collected is used as facial fillers to improve skin texture, tone and appearance. When injected into the skin by dermatologist, the collagen starts working as body's own collagen. Lastly, collagen is also sold as nutritional supplement to those suffering from joint problems, and also used for creating skin substitutes for patients with severe degree of burns.

How to Prevent Sliding | Pole Dance

02:54
Watch more How to Pole Dance videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/460932-How-to-Prevent-Sliding-Pole-Dance My name is Mai Yee. I'm an instructor at Sheila Kelley's S Factor Studio in Manhattan, New York. I've been doing this movement for five years now. It's a movement that combines ballet, pilates, striptease, and pole dancing. We have a website where you can get more information, and that's www.sfactor.com. I'm here today to talk to you about pole dancing. As a balance you want to find between having enough of a grip on the pole, not sliding, and also allowing for spinning to happen. Obviously, you don't want to wear any lotion on your hands or any part of your body that's gonna touch the pole, including oils in your hair. If you touch your hair you might bring that onto the pole. If you want to use some kind of conditioner on your legs that's not gonna make it slick for you on the pole. Aloe Vera gel is kind of something I've discovered that works really well. You can use alcohol; put it on a rag to wipe down your pole to keep the pole dry and free of buildup. Some poles use Windex or water, so look at the instructions on your pole to see what's appropriate. Humidity and the temperature of the room also affect how the pole feels. The warmer and more humid it is, the stickier your grip's gonna be. You also want to warm up the pole. Do some easy walks around the pole, some easy spins, and as the pole heats up with your body heat and your body heats up, that, your grip will get better. If you still have problems with very sweaty hands and slipping there are some products you can get. Dry Hands is one that I know that's on the market and when you put it on it repels moisture, so it actually kind of keeps the moisture from your hands from getting on the pole. If you have the other issue of too dry hands, there's a product Mighty Grip. This makes your grip a little more tacky so that you're not sliding from being too dry. There are also gloves that they make for pole dancing and if you're using a stationary pole you want to be sure that the palm is not tacky. I have a student actually who uses driving gloves with leather, a leather palm, and that works really well for her. If you buy a new pole and you feel that it's too slippery, I had a student who bought a sanding pad and just roughed up the surface to make the grip a little more sticky for her. So get creative. See what works for you. Find that perfect balance for yourself, a comfy grip and you'll be able to spin and do your inversions and anything you want on the pole.

Amazon Kindle (2011) Review

07:36
Amazon Kindle (2011) Review Up until September's Amazon event, the Kindle was the company's defining product. But with the Kindle Touch and Kindle Fire soon hitting the scene, the immensely popular e-Reader, now in its fourth generation, has seen changes, some good, some not so good. With Amazon's current Kindle Lineup, it's clear the company wanted to make a distinction between its three new devices: bare-bones, touch and full-fledged tablet. If you've ever used a previous Kindle, you'll be familiar with the solid hardware, snappy speed and easy to read screen; this generation's iteration is no different. The Kindle now comes sans keyboard, sporting a bite-sized form factor while still retaining a comfortable screen size and light weight. In the end, it ultimately comes down to preference. The Kindle lacks the bells and whistles of it's more expensive brothers, most notably a keyboard, but that wasn't something that bothered me in the least. For the price, $79 with ads and $109 without, it's still remains the best e-reader on the market. Check out the video for a more in-depth review.
