My Best Marketing Strategies for [2018] | Creative Growth Plans for Business

04:53
Want to know my marketing strategy for 2018? ►►Subscribe here to learn more of my secret SEO tips: https://goo.gl/ScRTwc Find me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/neilkpatel/ Read more on my blog: https://neilpatel.com/blog 2018 is going to be an exciting year. The analysis on how much money we're spending to generate the traffic and here's what's crazy, most people don't realize this, we generate, let's say a million visitors a month on Neil Patel. Do you know what the cost to get there is with video, production, podcasting, blogging, promotion, ads, link building? $110,000 a month. That's what it averaged out to for 2017. Here are my marketing strategies for 2018. I just bought a blog in the marketing space for a half a million bucks. They get a million visitors a month, and it's cheaper to spend money acquiring people who already have the traffic. So in 2017, I bought Uber Suggest, I think it was around 140 grand. They had very little traffic. I 381 redirected the site, traffic increased and guess what happened? Nothing. I hoped that my traffic would go through the roof, but nothing happened. Uber Suggest was a good acquisition and what I ended up learning from that is, who cares about links? Don't buy anything for the links. Buy it purely based off of traffic and just pay a simple metric. If Uber Suggest has roughly 200,000 visitors per month, I paid a hundred and something; I would have paid 200 grand, the money didn't matter. For a blog that I just spent half a million on, their traffic ranges. On a horrible month, they'll get around 800,000 uniques. In a perfect month, they'll get around, like, 1.2, 1.3 million uniques, and all I'm doing right now is buying as many blogs as possible. My marketing strategy for 2018 is to buy blogs based on of traffic. I look at the top posts that they have and how qualified their visitors are and determine if I can successfully monetize their content. I don't even care if they have revenue. If they don't have revenue, even better. The problem with Search Engine Journal is that they have conferences, they have advertising, and they have contracts for all of it. I don't care for any of that. I just want the traffic. So when you buy all these people for traffic and then you put it into your monetization flow, you can quickly figure out, what is this worth? If I can't make my money back in less than 12 months, I will not buy it. The other marketing strategy that I use when I'm buying these sites is to look for blogs that aren't monetized well. The blog that I ended up buying for half a million bucks, they're not even making three grand a month. If you're not even making three grand a month, that's a good deal, right? They're like; you're going to give me half a million dollars for this? No problem. Another creative marketing strategy I'm doing right now, is trying to buy a really popular marketing tool. I don't want to pay them all the money they're asking for because they want well into the millions, and it isn't worth it. But, I'm trying to work out a deal where I give them X amount of money up front, let's say a million dollars, and then give them a hundred thousand a month over X amount of months or a hundred thousand a year over X amount of years. When I see inefficiencies in sites, I figure I can purchase them and double the revenue because they aren't optimized for traffic or conversions. So buy it for what it's worth, optimize it, and then use the profits to pay them out continually. That way you're not using all of your money and the business is paying, you may have spent a bit more money, but personally, you don't have to spend as much money, and that's my marketing strategy for 2018. My goal is to spend at least $5 million acquiring businesses purely based on their traffic. If you need help or have questions about online or digital marketing or of you're a small business looking for help, leave a comment or question below and I'll personally answer and help you in any way I can!

Creating A Brand Strategy And Implementing It │ What Is The Missing Link In Building A Brand?

00:51
Creating a brand strategy and implementing it should be at the top of your list of priorities as a business leader. The problem is that many people charge straight ahead without stopping to ask, “What is the missing link in building a brand?” Think about it – you’ve probably spent a lot of time, energy, and money designing your branding strategies. You might have invested in focus groups and other research methods. You work on your strategy and develop and shape your brand down to the finest detail. Great! Now what? Creating a brand strategy and implementing it means you have to pay equal attention to both parts of the equation. A brand development strategy that only exists inside the heads of your company executives is useless. How do you actually go about taking your plan from theory to reality? What is the missing link in building a brand? Many great branding and marketing strategies fail because they don’t teach people how to integrate brand management into the front line. Think about it – who are the people in your business that actually deal with customers on a daily basis? Shouldn’t these people know your brand inside and out? Unfortunately, most of the time, they’re not adequately trained on the company’s products and know very little about the corporate beliefs, values, and mission statement. An effective brand strategy isn’t something that begins and ends at the C-suite. It should permeate your entire organization, from top to bottom. Creating a brand strategy and implementing it means teaching and training your front line staff in how to embody your brand. So what is the missing link in building a brand? All too often it’s the actual “implementation” part. What do you need to do to get your message out to your customers? If you’d like some help, subscribe to Mark Sanborn’s channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCu5y2nhhFwzIJL2j3jl6Z5w to watch great videos on marketing and leadership. This is a very complicated world. It’s a very noisy world. And we’re not going to get a chance to get people to remember much about us. No company is! And so, we have to be really clear on what we want them to know about us. Now Apple, fortunately, is one of half-a-dozen best brands in the whole world. Right up there with Nike, Disney, Coke, Sony — it is one of the greats of the greats. Not just in this country, but all around the globe. But even a great brand needs investment and caring if it’s going to retain its relevance and vitality. And the Apple brand has clearly suffered from neglect in this area in the last few years. And we need to bring it back! The way to do that is NOT to talk about speeds and fees. It’s NOT to talk about bits and mega-hertz. It’s NOT to talk about why we are better than Windows. The dairy industry tried for 20 years to convince you that milk was good for you. It’s a lie, but they tried anyway. And the sales were falling. And then they tried “Got milk” and the sales went up. “Got milk” wasn’t even talking about the product. In fact, it focuses on the absence of the product. But the best example of all, and one of the greatest jobs of marketing that the universe has ever seen, is Nike. Remember, Nike sells a commodity. They sell shoes!!! And yet, when you think of Nike you feel something different than a shoe company. In their ads, as you know, they don’t ever talk about the product. They don’t ever tell you about their air soles and why they are better than Reebok’s air soles. What does Nike do in their advertising? They honor great athletes. And they honor great athletics. That’s who they are, that’s what they are about! Apple spends a fortune on advertising — you’d never know it….you’d never know it! So…when I got here, Apple just fired their agency and there was a competition with 23 agencies that…you know…four years from now we would pick one. And we blew that up and we hired Chiat\Day, the ad agency that I was fortunate enough to work with years ago and created some award winning work including the commercial voted the best ad ever made, 1984 (by Advertising Professionals). And…we started working about eight weeks ago, and the question we asked was, “Our customers want to know who is Apple and what is it that we stand for…where do we fit in this world?” And what we’re about isn’t making boxes for people to get their jobs done — although we do that well. We do that better than almost anybody, in some cases. But Apple is about something more than that! Apple at the core…its core value — is that, we believe that people with passion can change the world for the better. That’s what we believe! And we have had the opportunity to work with people like that. We’ve had the opportunity to work with people like you; with software developers, with customers, who have done it. In some big, and some small ways. And we believe that, in this world, people can change it for the better. And that those people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the ones that actually do! And so, what we’re going to do in our first brand marketing campaign in several years, is to get back to that core value! A lot of things have changed. The market is in a total different place than where it was a decade ago. And Apple is totally different — and Apple’s place in it is totally different. And believe me, the products, and the distribution strategy, and the manufacturing are totally different…and we understand that. But values and core values — those things shouldn’t change. The things that Apple believed in at its core, are the same things Apple really stands for today. Nike Marketing Strategy: How Nike Branding Flatters Athlete Egos

06:01
http://602communications.com/ Dig deep inside Nike branding campaigns and you'll discover a very simple archetype story. By repeating this one story over and over, Nike marketing strategy delivers a powerful shot of customer self-esteem. In this speech from the IMark marketing conference in Iceland, emotional marketing speaker Graeme Newell reveals the five-step formula that keeps Nike branding at the top of the list of the world's most powerful marketers. I love Nike. I love Nike advertising, Nike ads, Nike commercials, Nike marketing strategy, Nike branding, and Nike brand strategy. I love all of it, and I love it a lot. What's more, I'm not alone. Nike ads have built the Nike brand into a juggernaut that appeals to almost every single man, woman, and child on this planet. Nike Advertising Power Why does Nike branding work so well? Nike advertising is full of excitement and everything that makes a good sporting-goods ad, but Nike ads are nearly unique in how good they are. So what is the deal with Nike marketing strategy that makes them so great? It's the message that is contained in Nike commercials and every piece of Nike branding that goes out. Nike advertising revolves around a single, universal emotion that is felt the same by nearly everyone on the planet. The idea of struggle and determination is what gives Nike commercials their fire. And every piece of Nike branding revolves around this thing How Nike Ads Capitalize on Archetypes If it told you that Nike marketing strategy is thousands of years old, you probably wouldn't believe me. However, Nike branding, like their name (originating from the Greek Goddess of Victory Nike) is as old as the Greek Civilization. Great works like the Iliad and the Odyssey revolve around the archetype of the hero. The hero is someone who faces a great foe, one who is seemingly insurmountable, and through dedication and perseverance, prevails. Nike brand strategy truly does hail from the time of the ancient Greeks, and there's a reason it still works. This is because the feelings that Nike commercials evoke are feelings that all humans have. The heroes in Nike advertising are universal heroes, regardless of age, race, gender, or anything else. The Real Message of Nike Commercials Nike commercials show all sorts of ripped, young men and women pushing themselves to the limits against a foe, but what are Nike ads really portraying? They're portraying you and me. Nike brand strategy knows that everyone sees the hero in themselves. Nike branding understands that even though we aren't slaying dragons or rescuing princesses, just getting out of bed in the morning to go to the gym, to work, to school, or anything else, is as trial in and of itself, and Nike commercials are all over that. How Nike Brand Strategy Comes Out in Nike Commercials Nike branding relies on a five-step formula to really drive the Nike marketing strategy home in Nike commercials. Nike ads, with very few exceptions, follow this five step formula in one way or another. The five step formula in Nike advertising is how they show the various stages that the hero must go through in order to fulfil his quest. Nike branding simply channels the story of the hero, one that has been told for millennia, into Nike ads and watches the brand explode. The 5-Steps Nike Branding Uses in Nike Ads Nearly every piece of Nike advertising follows the 5-step formula of Nike branding. First, Nike ads show first to the challenge, in the zone, doubt and suffering, rededication, and finally, victory. Nike branding uses these five steps to universally appeal to men, women, and children all over the world, and to great effect. What Each Step in Nike Marketing Strategy Means Key to Nike ads are the five steps. Nike commercials tend to begin with someone being the first to the challenge, first to the plate, the first up. This is how Nike brand strategy demonstrates first to the challenge. Nike branding then shows the person in the zone, working hard at whatever it is they're doing, and then comes the doubt and suffering. It's at this point in Nike ads that we are unsure if the main character is going to make it through, but then Nike marketing strategy kicks back in with rededication. The character rededicates herself to the goal, and attains victory. So to recap: -Nike advertising is a powerhouse because it taps the deepest emotions we feel as a species -One of these emotions is that of the hero, an archetype that human beings all over the world can all feel -Nike commercials do this by using a 5-step formula that shows the hero overcoming great struggles. http://602communications.com/

Social Media Marketing Plan

09:03
A social media marketing plan is like a mini-marketing plan. Depending on whether or not you already have in place a company wide marketing plan in place will dictate the level and detail of your social media marketing plan. But even if you’re starting from scratch, a social media marketing plan is a great place to start to ensure you’ve got your bases covered and time spent on social won’t be time wasted. Step 1) Current Analysis – Where are you now? The first step is to identify what you’re already doing, and what platforms you’re on. From here you can decide where you want to go. Do you already have a few accounts set-up? Do they have customized headers and branding? Do you have any followers or “likes”? Step 2) Competitor Analysis – Where are they now? While it’s often a good idea to lead rather than follow, it’s still prudent to be aware of what the competition is doing. Making a list of competitors and their current social media usage can indicate 1 of 2 things. Step 3) Goals – Where would you like to be? Having goals is important to prevent 3 hour marathon Facebook sessions that provides little or no value. Is your goal to increase brand awareness? Drive traffic to your website? Build social authority? Step 4) Strategy – How are we going to do this? Given the goals set in the previous step, how are you going to achieve these? A few common social media strategies include: Listening, Engaging, Influencing and Contributing. Step 5) Target Market - Who’s going to listen? Knowing the details about your target market and the key statistics around which social media platforms they tend to use can help determine what to post, where to post, when, and how. Step 6) Implementation – It’s go time! When most people think social media, they think Facebook, maybe Instagram or Twitter, and possibly Pinterest. The truth is there are a ton of other related tools available under the header of social media that may, or may not, be suitable for your needs. But here’s the good news, you don’t need to use them all! In fact, you’re probably best to select only 1 or maybe 2 to start, and focus on doing them well. Determining which ones depend on your business, goals, and of course, your target market. Step 7) Monitoring – How are we doing? As Peter Drucker said, “what gets measured, gets managed” so this is a good opportunity to look back at our goals, see how we’re doing, and most importantly, see if we’re making any progress. Which is why a key part of having a social media marketing plan is to measure your performance and see how things are actually working out. The best and easiest way to do this is with something called a KPI, or key performance indicator. KPI’s are a marketing term that allow us to really identify what’s important, and then measure that. Step 8) Budgeting – How much are we going to spend? Having a social media marketing budget is an important part of the social media marketing plan because contrary to popular belief, social media in a business context isn’t free. There are costs involved with the time to set everything up, plan, and implement, as well as advanced options like monitoring, content creation, sharing, and increasingly important, promotion. Step 9) Return on Investment – How much did we make? Calculating a quantitative return on investment with social media can be a difficult task due to its largely qualitative results. It’s challenging after all to put an exact dollar amount on improved brand perception, increased brand awareness, or the number of customers reached or impressions gained through exposure from social media. Conclusion At the end of the day a good social media marketing plan is well worth the investment. Social media isn’t going away anytime soon, and has delivered some pretty incredible results for companies ranging from solopreneurs and small mom n’ pop shops all the way up to billion dollar enterprises. #LINKS Website: http://adamerhart.com Twitter: http://twitter.com/adamerhart Facebook: http://facebook.com/officialadamerhart Instagram: http://instagram.com/adamerhart Snapchat: snapadamerhart

Social Media James also explains the importance of establishing social profiles on popular social media platforms, in order to further build your brand, and boost your content promotion efforts. During this process, it’s also worthwhile searching for industry relevant websites, such as forums and blogs, which will allow you to gain an overview of current attitudes, opinions and issues related to your business. By engaging with key users and influencers on social and sites such as these, you can begin to build a loyal group of followers with an active interest in your brand. Content Audit Before you begin creating a new plan, it’s necessary to take a look back, and carry out an in depth content audit to determine what has worked, and what has failed, in the past. As part of this, you’ll also want to carry out a competitor content analysis on three or four of your key competitors, in order to get a better idea of what your competition are doing to gain traction. Details on how to perform both these audits are revealed at length in the video above, where James also explains how you can use tools like Google Trends https://www.google.com/trends/ and Google Analytics to get a better understanding of your previous campaigns. These techniques should provide you with enough information to formulate new ideas. Editorial Calendar An editorial calendar is paramount to your campaign’s success. It will allow you to plot what should be created when, and give you a better idea of the activities you need to carry out to stay relevant and up to date. Promotion and Measurement Finally, James explains how you can successfully promote your content using the contacts you’ve established, and measure this success against the goals you’ve set. What is Integrated Marketing?

03:21
To learn more about integrated marketing for SMEs please get in touch: http://tribuscreative.com In this video we offer a short introduction to the principle of integrated marketing. By implementing a considered strategy and cost-effective marketing mix, small to medium sized businesses can reach new markets, win customers, make more sales, and build brand equity. Transcript [VO]: You want your business to grow -- you want to win more customers and make more sales. But how do you do that when budgets are tight, and your time is limited? Some of your competitors have plenty of cash to throw around and make a noise. They can run expensive TV ads, or buy full-page spreads in the national newspapers to build their brands. So how can you -- the smaller business owner -- compete? The answer lies in integrated marketing. Meet Tom. He owns Tom's Tours -- an independent travel company. Tom creates one-of-a-kind travel packages for his customers. He's not competing directly with the big holiday companies, but in the past he has struggled to get his voice heard. He used Facebook and Twitter when he had the time, and every now and then took out adverts in newspapers and magazines. The problem was his marketing was irregular, and his messaging inconsistent. His brand didn't build up any momentum. Then he adopted Integrated Marketing. For a fixed monthly budget, Tom's Tours now publishes a weekly blog post with travel ideas and tips. The posts are then promoted through social media and a monthly email newsletter. The newsletter also features content from the Tom's Tours YouTube channel, where customers are encouraged to upload videos from their holidays. In the peak holiday booking periods, the company runs print, online and radio ads, and in the quieter months, special offers and promotions. And once or twice a year he publishes a survey and report that gets him free media coverage in newspapers and magazines. Now, a potential customer experiences a consistent message across a multitude of marketing channels. And because each element of marketing is no longer working in isolation, they serve to amplify each other. Tom's voice is now being heard. But it doesn't stop there because that voice begins to resonate with other people. They become fans on Facebook, followers on Twitter, subscribers on YouTube, commenters in forums and on blog posts. They're no longer just customers, they're advocates and ambassadors. In fact, they act like a tribe, echoing Tom's message to a wider audience. The result? Tom's Tours wins more customers, and makes more sales. So, if you want your business to grow, try integrated marketing. You'll be amazed at how effectively it will build your brand.

The Difference Between Marketing vs Branding Strategy

06:59
Click here to subscribe: https://bit.ly/2HxjQRa That old marketing vs branding debate is a tricky one, but on today's episode we're going to tackle it head on, talking about brand awareness marketing versus direct response marketing and which one is best for your business. You see, when it comes to marketing your business, there's no shortage of strategy, tactics or tools available to use. You can use social media, you can use email marketing, there's content marketing, there's video marketing, you can blog, do SEO, you can do direct mail, pay-per-click, maybe start a YouTube channel, maybe run some Facebook ads... You ever consider putting up a banner or doing some skywriting? Don't do that ;) Regardless of which tactic you decide to use, they tend to fall into one of two camps: One of which is brand awareness marketing, and the other one is direct response marketing. Now, when I first got involved in the marketing game, I fell firmly into the brand awareness marketing which is all about creating value, creating content, getting out there and staying top of mind among your target market. However, it didn't take long before the siren song of the direct response marketer started calling me in, and I was all but enthralled with creating those direct response ads that were designed to get action and get action quickly. So where did I end up? Three Ways to Build Brand Awareness

11:20
Explore the pros and cons of the different tactics you can use to develop a sustainable awareness-building program for your brand. VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: With over a trillion pages indexed by Google the odds of your site getting found by the right prospect are astronomically stacked against you. If you’d like to increase those odds, stay tuned because today we’re going to explore the pros and cons of the different tactics you can use to get your brand found online. My objective is to help you achieve a more balanced approach so that you can develop a sustainable awareness-building program for your brand. Why it matters Imagine your perfect prospect sitting at home in front of her computer. She’s never heard of your brand. How is she going to find your website, how is she going to find your online store, your blog, your social media sites, or the online contest you’re hosting? Of course, if you knew who she was you could find her through outreach activities on social media or with email. But right now let’s focus on the inbound challenge of being found by prospects online. I don’t think any online marketer needs to be convinced of the importance of building and maintaining awareness for their brand. But optimizing your web pages and waiting for Google to deliver prospects is only part of the answer. There is a lot more you could do to build brand awareness. But with so many ways to be found online the question becomes which one is best for your brand? Well, I’ve got good news on two counts. First, you don’t need to choose and second there are actually only three ways that prospects can find you online anyhow. I’d like to look at the pros and cons of each to help you build a more effective and sustainable online awareness program for your brand. What it is The first way for prospects to find you online is through paid promotion. This means paying someone money to access their audience. Adwords is the most popular form of online paid promotion. With Adwords you pay Google to gain access to the 1.2 billion people who use their search engine each month. But there are many variations on this theme such as Facebook ads, LinkedIn post promotion, banner ads and native content. In all cases you’re paying a gatekeeper to gain access to a third party’s proprietary audience. In the case of paid search, the key concepts are clickthrough rate and conversion rate. Clickthrough rate refers to the percentage of people who click on your link when it is served up in their search results. The average clickthrough rate for paid search is about 3 and a half percent. So for every 10 thousand people who are shown your link you can expect 350 visitors to your site. Conversion rate refers to the percentage of those visitors who perform the desired action, that usually means buying something. The average conversion rate for paid search is around 5 percent. So from your 350 visitors you could expect to get 18 purchases. How much Google charges per click depends on how many other people want to advertise with that word. So although the average cost per click is about 40 cents, words that are highly sought after can cost over forty dollars per click. Which means your 18 buyers could cost you anywhere from 140 to 14,000 dollars or between 8 and 8,000 dollars per sale. The biggest upside of paid promotion is that you get immediate results. And over time these results can become predictable. So you can calculate the anticipated return on your investment with regard to traffic and conversions with a fair degree of accuracy. Since everything about this investment is measurable it’s easy to show cause & effect and to explain the investment to superiors. Pay-per-click scheme also comes with a potent feel-good factor because in theory you only pay for results. On the down side, the public trust factor in this type of exposure is low since it’s essentially the brand recommending itself, so visitors arriving through paid links may be more skeptical. Paid promotion can also be expensive if it’s your sole means of driving traffic and conversion. Especially as competition for your desired keyword increases. Budget allocated to paid promotion often displaces investment in developing the brand’s website in ways that would attract organic awareness and traffic. And as the website becomes less able to attract visitors on its own, brands can find themselves completely dependent on paid promotion to maintain their sales...
