I Walked 31 Feet Underwater | Sea Trek Helmet Diving | US Virgin Islands
I walked 31 feet under the ocean and got to experience the blue waters like NEVER before. I can't believe I didn't know Sea Trekking was a thing but SO happy I got to experience it at Coral World's marine park in St. Thomas, USVI. Coral World is a marine park that has a variety of exhibits, excursions and animal encounters. One of Coral World's most popular excursions is the Sea Trek activity (no, not to confuse with Star Trek, although going to space would be JUST as cool.) Robb's $49 (1976) Aqua Bell Dive Helmet
I have always wanted to walk around on the bottom of the seafloor just like Captain Nemo in Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. Now, maybe I can. Back in the 1970s there was a dive helmet for sale that was only $49, named the AquaBell. You could use it in the pool or on your boat to work underwater on your hull or take it to calm areas of the ocean and walk about on the bottom. The Aquabell was not a toy. You could dive to 35 feet with the pumps sold separately. The Aquabell company sold a manual pump that required an assistant on the surface to pump air and also sold very small electric oilless air compressors. The literature that comes with the Aquabell recommends an air pump that will provide a minimum of 2 CFM of air, although some users say they get by with 1.4 CFM. The depth used will determine your psi needed. I think 15psi will work for my needs. I will be posting a detailed video of the pump and filter after they arrive. I am starting an Aquabell playlist and will also post the literature that came with the helmet on my website so you can print it out if you have a AquaBell and need it. It is critical you both know and use safe diving procedures. Even though it is not likely for a diver to get the bends from very shallow diving, even a dive of a few feet of water with compressed air can kill a diver from embolisms if they hold their breath while ascending. The 3 main rules are to never hold your breath while ascending, to never rise faster than your air bubbles and to never panic. Never attach the heavy helmet to your body. The pump used must be an oilless compressor and it must be clean. I see no use of an inline air filter in any of the photos showing the Aquabell in use, but I would not want to use any air from even an oilless pump unless there was a backup filter. Some hookah divers that work on cleaning boats in very shallow water use inexpensive PVC hoses but you need to make sure they are food grade and clean of any oil residue left over from the manufacturing and that they do not get too hot from the pump as PVC can give off toxic fumes if heated too high. Never tie your helmet on, wear a buoyancy compensator or at least a snorkel vest and always have an assistant. All information here is for entertainment purposes only, use at your own risk and take a diving course and research all equipment and their uses on your own. I am only providing information on what I will be doing and it is not a recommendation you do the same. Here is the compressor I have bought and will be using with a filter after I have opened and cleaned the pump. BOYU-ACQ 906 amazon has a lower output model ACQ 903 that may also work, I will know more after I do tests when mine arrives. I ordered the scrap lead on eBay and will be using food grade PVC hose. Here is my new Aquabell diving helmet playlist Aquabell Dive helmet & underwater videos https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0Fl7dCpoux69pfRw-NWbidFmWOczp94e See you out there. Check out Coral World Ocean Park. Alright so, this isn't exactly an off the beaten path destination, but hear me out. Coral World has a number of great exhibits, including their observation tower which is a tower that goes below the water so that you can see the fish in their natural habitat in the bay area. It's a very cool concept. On top of that, you can actually take part in a number of activities within Ocean World like animal encounters and Sea Trek. Sea Trek is an activity that places a helmet on your head and allows you to dive 30 feet below the ocean without ever learning to scuba dive. You get to experience this whole new world with fishes and who knows what else! It can be a surprise every time you Sea Trek. This was my first time ever doing Sea Trek and I am so glad that I got to do it in St. Thomas' Coral World Ocean Park in the US Virgin Islands. The waters in St. Thomas are just so beautiful and crystal clear, it made it that much more of an enjoyable experience. Coral World is also located next to Coki Beach, which is lovely albeit sometimes crowded. The instructor and scuba diver guide were both incredibly nice and made the Sea Trek excursion relaxing and safe. I cannot recommend this activity enough. My only complaint is that it should have lasted longer! ❱❱ FRIENDS ❰❰ Karla: https://youtube.com/whatwouldkarlasay MORE OF ME: http://redromina.com FIND ME: @redromina on instagram/twitter/facebook SUPPORT: https://redromina.com/explorers/ MY EQUIPMENT: https://kit.com/redromina STICKERS: http://redrominastickers.com AMAZON STORE: http://amzn.to/2tK9rYK THANKS: To my patrons for making this video possible. http://patreon.com/redromina HELLO! Sea Trek helmet dive in Grand Cayman
This video was recorded August 2012 in Grand Cayman of the Cayman Islands. We were enjoying a Sea Trek helmet dive 28 feet below the surface. This was recorded using a Olympus "Tough Series" TG820 with the basic underwater settings. I am in no way considered a photographer just a normal guy making memories with my family and a great underwater camera.

NOMAD by bLU3 | Ultra-portable tankless dive system
Breathe underwater without heavy tanks and expensive training. Explore the underwater world and help protect it, too. How it works: Put simply: NOMAD floats on the surface of the water and has a compressor that takes fresh air and pumps it right down to the diver through a 40-foot hose. Each unit comes with an online training course that must be completed prior to diving. Everything you need to dive is in one easy-to-carry system, just grab your mask and fins and dive bLU3. A high-quality breathing air compressor floats above the surface in an innovative, all-in-one housing while a 40-foot hose provides air to the divers below. The compressor only sends air when needed by monitoring pressure in the hose. The entire unit attaches to a backpack transportation mount that doubles as your dive harness. The dive harness has weight pockets on the back, so no need for an additional weight belt. The entire unit is battery-powered; charged with a single charge cable and can even be fully charged by an optional solar panel in about 3 hours. One of the things that makes NOMAD ultra-portable is that it can be carried as a backpack when you're heading to or from the dive site. You can hike, skateboard, walk, and more with your dive system comfortably resting on your back. This is achieved by utilizing the backpack dive harness - it's dual purpose so you don't end up with a clutter of extra gear. The nylon backplate is accompanied by Halcyon's patent-pending quick-adjust system for a comfortable one-size-fits-all configuration. Auto-inflation - press inflate, and get ready to dive! Watertight storage compartment for phone, wallet, etc. Built-in USB charging port for mobile devices, cameras, etc. Waterproof touch interface Color LED Mode Indicator (Inflate, deflate, dive, low battery, etc)

SDC 2018 - A Deep Dive Sea Trek with SNIA Swordfish™
Presented by Richelle Ahlvers, Storage Management Architect, Broadcom Limited Download Presentation: https://www.snia.org/sites/default/files/SDC/2018/presentations/Storage_Resource_Mgmt/Ahlvers_Richelle_A_Deep_Dive_Sea_Trek_With_SNIA_Swordfish.pdf Abstract: The SNIA’s Scalable Storage Management Technical Work Group (SSM TWG) has developed an open industry standard specification that provides a unified approach for the management of storage systems and data services. Swordfish™ is an extension of the DMTF Redfish specification developed by the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) to provide a unified approach for the management of storage equipment and services in converged, hyper-converged, hyperscale and cloud infrastructure environments, making it easier for IT administrators and DevOps to integrate scalable solutions into their data centers. Building on the concepts presented in the Introduction to Redfish and Swordfish (Swimming With SNIA Swordfish™) sessions, this session will go into more detail on the Swordfish Scalable Storage Management API specification, including details of the Swordfish Class of Service concepts, structure and usage. The deep-dive will also provide a look at Swordfish schema, and will look in more detail at the two Swordfish Service Configurations that can be used to build different types of storage systems. This session will also present information about the emerging Swordfish profile definitions. Some prior familiarity with at least introductory information about Redfish and Swordfish will be helpful for understanding this session. Learning Objectives: 1. Develop an understanding of the different Swordfish Service Configurations, and their appropriate applicability 2. Explore Swordfish Storage Pools and Classes of Service 3. Dive into the depths of Swordfish schema and learn how to understand the different annotations 4. Surface with a detailed understanding of how both Swordfish clients and implementations will use profile information

US Navy's Futuristic HUD Diving Helmet: Diver Augmented Vision Display (DAVD)
Diver Augmented Vision Display (DAVD) is a high-resolution, see-through heads-up display prototype created at the NSWC Panama City. The Underwater Systems Development Project Engineer team is developing what can be described as a "next-generation" and "futuristic" system for the Navy diving community. This unique system enables divers to have real-time visual display of everything from sector sonar (real-time topside view of the diver's location and dive site), text messages, diagrams, photographs and even augmented reality videos. Having real-time operational data enables them to be more effective and safe in their missions -- providing expanded situational awareness and increased accuracy in navigating to a target such as a ship, downed aircraft, or other objects of interest. Instead of having to rely on pre-dive briefings alone to determine what they are looking for, how specific items should appear and where they may be located, the DAVD system places the information right before divers' eyes with a look and feel comparable to a point-of-view video game display. Divers have the ability to turn the HUD on and off, and direct topside to reposition display data in different locations on the HUD. "By building this HUD directly inside the dive helmet instead of attaching a display on the outside, it can provide a capability similar to something from an 'Ironman' movie," Gallagher commented. "You have everything you visually need right there within the helmet." The DAVD HUD system can be used for various diving missions, including ship husbandry, underwater construction, and salvage operations. The same system can eventually be used by first responders and the commercial diving community. As part of its Strategic Plan for 2011-2025 to identify, exploit, and develop technology to advance the state-of-the-art in diving equipment, Naval Sea Systems Command (00C3) is in the process of developing enhanced sensors -- such as miniaturized high resolution sonar and enhanced underwater video systems -- to enable divers to 'see' in higher resolution up close, even when water visibility is near zero. These enhanced underwater vision systems would be fed directly into the DAVD HUD. "We constantly engage with the operators; if there is a vision they have, we can make it happen," Gallagher said. "By having this type of positive on-the-spot feedback, you know you're going down the right road." The team is now working on phase two, where components are being designed to include both helmet systems and full face masks. Divers are scheduled to conduct in-water simulation testing in October. Phase three is set to begin in fiscal year 2017 to harden the system for expanded field testing with various dive commands. Scuba Diving at Tarkli beach| 30 feet below sea level | Full Story of adventures Experience.
Scuba diving is a mode of underwater diving where the diver uses a self-contained underwater breathing apparatus (scuba) which is completely independent of surface supply, to breathe underwater. Scuba divers carry their own source of breathing gas, usually compressed air, allowing them greater independence and freedom of movement than surface-supplied divers, and longer underwater endurance than breath-hold divers.[1] Open circuit scuba systems discharge the breathing gas into the environment as it is exhaled, and consist of one or more diving cylinders containing breathing gas at high pressure which is supplied to the diver through a regulator. They may include additional cylinders for range extension, decompression gas or emergency breathing gas.Closed-circuit or semi-closed circuit rebreather scuba systems allow recycling of exhaled gases. The volume of gas used is reduced compared to that of open circuit, so a smaller cylinder or cylinders may be used for an equivalent dive duration. Rebreathers extend the time spent underwater compared to open circuit for the same gas consumption; they produce fewer bubbles and less noise than open circuit scuba which makes them attractive to covert military divers to avoid detection, scientific divers to avoid disturbing marine animals, and media divers to avoid bubble interference.[ #crazymindedyoutuber #cmy #cmyoutuber #crazyyoutuber

Located in Wimberley,Texas, Jacob's Well is an artesian spring that enchants visitors with its intricate system of underwater caves and limestone cliffs. Its cave descends downwards, reaching an average depth of 120 feet. For many adventure-seeking outsiders, the cool, clean, and clear waters of Jacob's Well offers relief from the hot Texan sun...but it comes at a price. Considered one of the most dangerous diving spots in the world, the depths of the waters can easily swallow anyone alive. This, however, has not stopped daredevil open-water divers from risking their lives by plunging into its seemingly never-ending hole. Taking the dive requires experience with specialized techniques and cave diving equipment, since there is a high risk of getting lost in the caves deep down. Otherwise you might as well just swim close to the surface like most visitors do. To this day, eight diver deaths have been recorded at the site. 9: The Danakil Desert In the northern end of Africa's Great Rift Valley lies the Danakil Desert in Ethiopia, one of the hottest places on the surface of the planet. It's one of the most inhospitable places known to man, with daytime temperatures exceeding 122°F (or 50°C). Volcanoes and earthquakes continually rip the ground apart, spewing lava and noxious gases, and giving the place its name "the gateway to Hell". The idea that anyone would actually live here seems absurd, yet people have been inhabiting the place continuously for thousands of years. As salt traders, natives make regular two-day long treks on camels to collect salt. One interesting note about the native Danakils is that they used to have a reputation of cutting off unwanted visitors' testicles; although nowadays the practice has stopped. The proximity of the region to Eritrea's borders also makes it a dangerous place for visitors. In 2012, five European tourists were filled and four others bid trapped by African revel groups near a volcano in the area. 8: Madidi National Park Bolivia's Madidi National Park has long been considered the most biologically diverse protected area on the planet, with new wildlife species being frequently discovered in the area. But in the middle of such a steamy tropical rainforest, there's bound to be plenty of creatures above you in the food chain. As beautiful as the place may be, the diverse species have developed different types of poison to protect themselves: toxic moths, flesh-eating maggots, and skin-eating fungi to name a few. Direct contact with the park's plants leads to severe itching, rash, and dizziness. Any small wound or cut can quickly get infected by parasites. Visitors will also get the chance to experience wild animals such as snakes, jaguars, and bears; all of which prey on humans. The wild pigs are among the worst; known to literally tear human visitors apart, leaving them strewn across the park floor in pieces. 7: Death Valley Death Valley is a stunningly beautiful desert surrounded by mountains. Located in eastern California near the Nevada border, Death Valley seems like something out of this world with its alien-like topography and scorching heat. You might have experienced hot and dry places, but none can compare to what is considered Earth's natural oven. During the summers, Death Valley commonly experiences temperatures above 120°F (or 49°C), with its highest recorded temperature reaching a staggering 134°F (or 56.7°C). The blazing sun and searing heat would quickly dehydrate and exhaust anyone, and without water, death would come within less than 14 hours. Despite that, the place is continuously visited by tourists. Many deaths have been recorded in the past for those not honoring the valley's extreme climate. In August of 2016 for example, 40-year-old Linda Hung took a turn into Death Valley and got her car stuck in the sand. She then walked off to get help, but collapsed just five miles away from the car, where rescuers later found her tread body. 6: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Famous for its legendary carnivals and festivals, Rio may seem like a great place for a holiday.
