Explorer of the Seas Tour - March 2018

09:52
Take a tour of the beautiful Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas cruise ship. This is my collection of photos and short videos from a recent 7-night cruise with two of my granddaughters, cruising from Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart, Wollongong and returning to Sydney. This will give you an idea of what you can expect to see and do onboard. This also includes a tour of a superior balcony cabin, Cabin 7658. This is NOT a comprehensive tour, as there is nothing about dining or food (we were too busy enjoying ourselves to capture), but I can say the food and service onboard was great, from the Windjammer Buffet , the Royal Promenade Cafe and through to the Main Dining Room. Please share this video with your friends if you like it! ALL music is copyright free and obtained from Youtube Audio Library. Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cruisesntravelwithgina
Royal Caribbean International - Explorer of the Seas - Early Morning Tour Walk Dec 2016

36:17
This year (Dec 2016) my wife and I took our kids on a Cruise with Royal Caribbean from Sydney out to Fiji. Vanuatu, Mare, and New Caledonia and one morning I got up nice and early whilst most people were sleeping and did a bit of a walk around the ship. All in all, a wonderful experience! We all had a ball and I would encourage you to give a cruise a go if you can. Please note, this is my FIRST ever video where I've walked and talked so forgive my breathing into the mic and way too fast panning about.

A deep sea dive into Bermuda’s hidden depths

04:05
Guardian environment reporter Oliver Milman joins a group of scientists on an underwater expedition off the Bermuda coast to help chart its hidden depths and gauge the general health of the area’s reef and coral. Travelling in a two-man submersible, Milman and submarine pilot Kelvin Magee go on a journey 500ft below the surface. Who Lives In the Deepest Place On Earth?

09:57
Who lives at the bottom of the Mariana trench? Scientists have finally revealed the Mariana Trench mystery. Take a look at the deepest creature ever caught there! The curiosity of human nature makes people look for secrets and mysteries far away from home, like in outer space or on other planets. Scientists have mapped only 5 percent of our planet’s seafloor. And if you’ve ever considered the ocean plain and boring, the video you’re about to watch will blow your mind. TIMESTAMPS The Mariana Trench is the deepest area 0:45 The deepest-living fish in the world 2:40 “Ethereal snailfish” 3:12 A mysterious metallic sound 3:38 Deep sea cucumber 5:50 The deep sea anglerfish 6:20 The barreleye fish 7:13 The Champagne Vent 8:05 The 4-inch amoeba 8:35 SUMMARY The Mariana Trench is the deepest area you can find on Earth. Although almost everybody has heard the name, we have shockingly little data about this dark underwater place in the western Pacific Ocean. It’s a monumental task mapping the seafloor and taking pictures when the water pressure at the bottom is more than 1,000 times greater than that at the surface! The Mariana Trench houses the deepest parts of our planet. The deep ocean is the final frontier on planet Earth

14:49
The ocean covers 70% of our planet. The deep-sea floor is a realm that is largely unexplored, but cutting-edge technology is enabling a new generation of aquanauts to go deeper than ever before. Click here to subscribe to The Economist on YouTube: http://econ.trib.al/rWl91R7 Beneath the waves is a mysterious world that takes up to 95% of Earth's living space. Only three people have ever reached the bottom of the deepest part of the ocean. The deep is a world without sunlight, of freezing temperatures, and immense pressure. It's remained largely unexplored until now. Cutting-edge technology is enabling a new generation of aquanauts to explore deeper than ever before. They are opening up a whole new world of potential benefits to humanity. The risks are great, but the rewards could be greater. From a vast wealth of resources to clues about the origins of life, the race is on to the final frontier The Okeanos Explorer, the American government state-of-the-art vessel, designed for every type of deep ocean exploration from discovering new species to investigating shipwrecks. On board, engineers and scientists come together to answer questions about the origins of life and human history. Today the Okeanos is on a mission to investigate the wreck of a World War one submarine. Engineer Bobby Moore is part of a team who has developed the technology for this type of mission. The “deep discover”, a remote operating vehicle is equipped with 20 powerful LED lights and designed to withstand the huge pressure four miles down. Equivalent to 50 jumbo jets stacked on top of a person While the crew of the Okeanos send robots to investigate the deep, some of their fellow scientists prefer a more hands-on approach. Doctor Greg stone is a world leading marine biologist with over 8,000 hours under the sea. He has been exploring the abyss in person for 30 years. The technology opening up the deep is also opening up opportunity. Not just to witness the diversity of life but to glimpse vast amounts of rare mineral resources. Some of the world's most valuable metals can be found deep under the waves. A discovery that has begun to pique the interest of the global mining industry. The boldest of mining companies are heading to the deep drawn by the allure of a new Gold Rush. But to exploit it they're also beating a path to another strange new world. In an industrial estate in the north of England, SMD is one of the world's leading manufacturers of remote underwater equipment. The industrial technology the company has developed has made mining possible several kilometers beneath the ocean surface. With an estimated 150 trillion dollars’ worth of gold alone, deep-sea mining has the potential to transform the global economy. With so much still to discover, mining in the deep ocean could have unknowable impact. It's not just life today that may need protecting; reaching the deep ocean might just allow researchers to answer some truly fundamental questions. Hydrothermal vents, hot springs on the ocean floor, are cracks in the Earth's crust. Some claim they could help scientists glimpse the origins of life itself. We might still be years away from unlocking the mysteries of the deep. Even with the latest technology, this kind of exploration is always challenging. As the crew of the Okeanos comes to terms with a scale of the challenge and the opportunity that lies beneath, what they and others discover could transform humanity's understanding of how to protect the ocean. It's the most hostile environment on earth, but the keys to our future may lie in the deep. Explorer of The Seas Grand Suite 1564 and Bermuda Royal Caribbean

05:00
Explorer of The Seas Grand Suite 1564 and Bermuda In this video we replay an older trip we went on but I think it's full of great information if you are considering a trip to Bremuda, a trip on the Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas and especially if you are considering a Grand Suite. A little basic info on the suite and ship: Grand Suites feature a marble entry. There are two twin beds that convert to a Royal King, a private balcony, a sitting area with double sofa bed, and a bathroom with a tub. The second of five in the revolutionary Voyager-class series that started with Voyager of the Seas in 1999, Explorer of the Seas follows the floating resort concept, with a wealth of facilities, activities and entertainment that will appeal to every age group. The ship underwent an U.S.$80-million refit in May 2014, with amenities added including an ice skating rink/concert venue/TV studio, spa/solarium complex, a shopping/dining/entertainment boulevard, 3D movie theater, outdoor movie screen, wedding chapel and florist. A fitness center, outdoor jogging track and outdoor youth area with a rock-climbing wall, full-court basketball, nine-holeminiature golf and brand new FlowRider Surf Simulator offers active cruisers of all ages, from children to seniors, something to enjoy. One of the most impressive features is the U.S.$11-million art collection (highlighted by the work of Hollywood stars like Tony Curtis, Peter Falk and Anthony Quinn and photography by Annie Lebowitz) that is showcased across the ship. The Royal Promenade is the heart of the vessel. You feel like you are in an upscale mall as you walk this longer-than-a-football-field and wider-than-three-lanes-of-traffic boulevard anchored by two atria that are marvels of marble and colossal sculpture. Diversions on the promenade include shops selling everything from ship's logo items, to cheap accessories and designer merchandise. Buy our gear... Here's a cabin tour of an INSIDE category cabin aboard Royal Caribbean's Explorer of The Seas. The room features a small refrigerator, hairdryer, ample closet space and shelves. I have another video posted of an inside cabin on this same ship as well as other cabin tours aboard Holland America and Norwegian Cruise Lines to name a few. If you have any questions please feel free to ask and happy cruisin'. Video was taken Oct. 2013 on a cruise from the port in Bayonne, New Jersey to Bermuda. Cabin #4787 which was located in the back of the ship-a very quiet location, but a long walk from the elevators.

Explorer of the Seas-Port of Call, Mystery Island Vanuatu

08:16
On day 6 of our 23 day Transpacific Cruise aboard Royal Caribbean's Explorer of the Seas we visit Mystery Island Vanuatu. If you picture the perfect South Pacific atoll it's Mystery Island. We are again shuttled to the island by the Explorer's life boats. We strolled around the entire island in about 30 minutes taking in the grass airstrip, beach, monument to Queen Elizabeth and the open air market . Mystery Island is uninhabited, the vendors commute from the nearby main island. While we were touring the island, Willie took the "Reef snorkeling discovery" tour and provided us with his video. Explorer of the Seas, Port of Call-Noumea & Lifou New Caledonia

09:45
On Day 4 of our 23 day Transpacific Cruise aboard Explorer of the Seas we make our first Port of Call at Noumea New Caledonia. Noumea is the largest city and industrial hub of the French territory of New Caledonia. We took the free bus from the working harbor to the shopping area and walked around the city seeing St Joseph's church and purchasing some T shirts. The next day we were made our second stop in Lifou. What a difference. Lifou is a small island (50 miles long) and barely developed. Passengers were put ashore using Explorer's life boats, a new experience for us. We again engaged in a self conducted tour as we canceled the "Vanilla House an Oni Wael Animal" tour after receiving a letter lowering our expectations of seeing much wildlife. Thanks for watching. Regent Seven Seas Explorer Cruise Ship

12:09
Regent’s new Seven Seas Explorer, built at a price tag of US$450-million, begins sailing in July 2016. This is the first of our Seven Seas Explorer Reviews. This summer, Regent Seven Seas will take delivery of its newest cruise ship to-date – and the line is pulling out all the stops for what will be the first newbuild constructed for the luxury brand in more than a decade. On July 20, 2016, Seven Seas Explorer will officially set sail on her maiden voyage. Regent calls her, “the most luxurious ship ever built,” and she very well might be. In the works since 2008, the 750-guest Seven Seas Explorer will offer some of the largest and most luxurious suites at sea. If early renderings are any indication, her interiors will be nearly unparalleled in the industry; an impressive fact considering the kind of competition Regent is up against from competing lines like Crystal Cruises, Seabourn Cruises and Silversea. She’s not the biggest ship to set sail this year, but she could very well be one of the most important; her massive Regent Suite will see that her arrival does not go unnoticed. Aboard Seven Seas Explorer, guests will stay in one of 375 spacious suites. Each room aboard the ship will feature its own private balcony, and 93 percent of those will have verandas larger than 83 square feet. That’s as large as some early interior cruise ship cabins were 20 years ago. Regent calls this a “spacious outdoor oasis for guests to enjoy the scenic vistas and ocean breezes in total comfort.” Master Suites offer chic Park Avenue styling, replete with rosewood polished furniture and crystal chandeliers. These two-bedroom suite features a modern sophisticated and elegant design. Located at the bow of the ship on decks seven and eight, the four Master Suites measure between 1,900 square feet and 2,100 square feet and boast spacious living areas with bars for entertaining and balconies up to 1,000 square-feet. Adjacent to each bedroom, guests will find ornate marble and stone bathrooms with shower and tub. Grand Suites and Explorer Suites share a common design element with striking high-contrast emerald accents blended perfectly with the rich grey, brown and cream décor elements. Both suites feature two full baths, and living areas with rich marble mosaics, exotic woods and unique furniture pieces based on haute couture fashion. The Grand Suites range up to 1,800 square feet and offer expansive private balconies, while the Explorer Suites stretches to 1,350 square feet and feature slightly larger living spaces. The Seven Seas Suite was created by famed interior designer Dakota Jackson, who was an inspirational driving force behind the suites aboard Oceania’s Marina and Riviera. At Regent, Jackson created the glamorous look for the Seven Seas Suite. The Seven Seas Suites offer between 825 square feet and 925 square feet of luxurious space, and exudes a cosmopolitan apartment feel with vibrant golden colored ceiling accents that reflect on the plush and tony furnishings. The rooms flow effortlessly from living rooms to dining areas to bedrooms, with sliding glass doorways leading to the spacious private balconies throughout. A magnificent white marble bathroom sits adjacent to the oversized bedroom. Penthouse Suites are sumptuous and alluring, inspired in part by sapphire jewels. These can be up to 625 square feet with stylish entertainment centers that separate the living rooms and bedrooms. A marble-topped bar and intimate dining area welcomes guests upon entering the suite, as the sumptuous living room beckons them to move further into the suite. Sliding glass doorways in both the bedroom and living room lead to an oversized balcony with chic outdoor furnishings. At the top of the pack is the Regent Suite. Coming in at a jaw-dropping 3,875 square feet, the suite handily steals the moniker of “largest shipboard suite” away from Cunard’s Queen Mary 2, which features the 2,249-square-foot Grand Duplexes that are spread out over two levels. Nearly double in size, the Regent Suite aboard Seven Seas Explorer features absolutely everything designers could possibly think of, all complemented by a 958-square-foot balcony that’s bigger than six average mainstream cruise ship staterooms put together. If that wasn’t enough, the suite also features its own in-suite Spa with heated thermal loungers, a private garden, two-and-a-half marble and stone-detailed bathrooms, separate living and sleeping rooms, and bank after bank of striking floor-to-ceiling windows. You’ll never look at shipboard accommodations the same way again. Thanks For Watching Please Share This Video! Don't Forget To Subscribe, Like and Comment.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky - Chapter 1 ~ A Storm at Sea

14:23
JP: あらしのうみで A Storm at Sea oh boy it's time for avisynth playarounds again • (1:49) You’re more likely to get questions biased towards a new starter if you said “yes”. Go here if you want to manipulate what you get: https://www.gamefaqs.com/ds/955859-pokemon-mystery-dungeon-explorers-of-sky/faqs/58014 • (2:27) The aura (as far as I know) is based on whatever you chose as your favourite colour on the DS; but this is on an emulator, so it’s essentially random. • (2:52) You can’t choose a partner of the same type as you. I’m pretty sure they’re gender-locked, too (as in, they'll always be a certain gender), but I'm not 100% sure on that. • (2:59) lol, the rat. But he’s among the more practical partners in terms of gameplay. Decided to name him after Ritchie’s Pikachu from the Kanto anime, also called レオン Leon (EN: Sparky…well it is 4kids we’re talking about). • (3:16) Well…we’re off to a good start. • (4:54) Different partners have slight differences in dialogue; this is more obvious in Japanese (due to the nature of that language), but they managed to carry it over into English. This seems to correspond to whatever pronoun they used in JP. • (4:54) Different Pokémon also use different pronouns! Chart from what I’ve found (note the use of katakana - usually reserved for foreign words and sound effects - as this game's target audience skews younger). - ボク (soft-masculine, informal, mostly used by boys and young men, somewhat deferential); Pikachu, Mudkip, Piplup. Speech pattern "tone" is about midway between the other two. Ash's Pikachu uses this in the subs of the Pokémon-mecha island episode. - Other notable examples: Lemmy and Iggy from Super Mario (Iggy adds the cutesy ちゃん suffix; yes, he's weird like that); Cecil and Ceodore from FF4 (father-son pair; in more "pure" Japanese - 僕 / ぼく - since they're nobility and have to uphold a certain standard) - オイラ (hard-masculine, informal, somewhat assertive, rural feel); Totodile, Chimchar, Munchlax. Has the "roughest" speech pattern. - Other notable examples: young Palom from FF4 (switches to オレ with age); Ludwig (early material, later switched to ワタシ), Iggy (early material, later switched to ボク) and Larry from Super Mario. - ワタシ (gender-neutral, polite; often used casually by women, men using it such can come off as aloof); Vulpix, Eevee. Has the most "formal" (for lack of better word) speech pattern. If you're unsure what to use, you can't really go wrong with this, though you may or may not draw some odd looks depending on context. This is the first pronoun taught to all foreign students of Japanese. - The anime special flips this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zPJe2B-b7Y ...does anyone know where to find a sub?) by having Piplup use オレ (hard-masculine, informal, assertive, used by way too many shonen protagonists; Ash's Bulbasaur & Squirtle and Jessie's Ekans use this in the aforementioned mecha episode; Gabite adds the highly respectful さま suffix, which indicates his extreme arrogance) and Chimchar ボク. - Of course, ideally you'd want to avoid pronouns when they aren't strictly necessary, otherwise you'd just sound like an attention whore. • (5:14) It’s always the Poison-types! • (7:37) It sounds nice. And since the player’s and partner’s names are going to appear so often, I chose names that wouldn’t be out of place in the real world, but didn't sound too silly or generic. • (8:53) The Sky-exclusive starters come with an Egg move at the start; Vulpix for example has Feint Attack (it took them 13 years to fix that move’s name…) • (11:03) Would’ve appreciated the critical earlier! • (11:57) Generation IV’s theme as a whole is is history and mythology, as noted by the crapload of Legendaries and Mythicals in it. DIAMOND / PEARL REMAKE WHEN???

How did early Sailors navigate the Oceans? | The Curious Engineer

Do you know how the early sailors navigate the oceans? The technology today makes it real easy to navigate the oceans. But it's very interesting to know how the early sailors managed to navigate without it. There's a lot of history on it. I tried my best to compile some important and interesting parts of it into this video.
