This production was a true partnership with Google Brand Studio Creative Director and Director, Jonathan Zames. With the challenge of a compressed production schedule and a UI that was still in beta, Bonfire Labs was able to work seamlessly with Google to create and provide new animations (almost hourly) so the on camera talent could interact more naturally with their devices. For this piece, Bonfire oversaw and produced the live action, matte paintings, prototype UI, editorial, color, audio and finishing.

Native advertising remains a key commercial talking point for legacy publishers in 2016. One such publisher taking this challenge by the scruff of the neck is the New York Times, who in 2014 launched T Brand Studio, a dedicated content creation wing that produces paid native advertising for global brands. In its bid to expand this service internationally, the NYT opened a dedicated European office in London in 2015. We spoke to Kaylee King-Balentine, director of T Brand International, to find out more about the logistical process involved in producing and publishing this kind of content for brands.

Unearthing 100 Years of History in the Morgue at The New York Times | Presented by Google Cloud

03:56
In a basement three floors underground, next to The New York Times’s headquarters, steel filing cabinets hold about six million photographs. These images are part of The Times’s morgue, a 600,000-pound archive of pictures, newspaper clippings, encyclopedias and books — so heavy the collection needs a floor strong enough to handle the weight. Many of the pictures ran in The Times between the late 19th and 20th centuries. Now, for the first time, as part of a technology and advertising partnership with Google, the photos are being pulled from their drawers, fed through scanners and saved to servers. The project will help photo editors access images more easily. This vast collection will also be the engine driving a new archival storytelling project: Past Tense. Alison Bing: " High-impact Travel" | Talks at Google

37:09
Be sure to check out the Lonely Planet app on iOS and Google Play: http://www.lonelyplanet.com/guides Alison Bing has filled 45 Lonely Planet travel guidebooks with solid recommendations, leaving out many options she road-tested that aren't strictly advisable - including accepting dinner invitations from cults and trusting the camel to know the way. Travel has informed her work with pioneering nonprofits worldwide, including American Documentary Inc., Ethiopian Midwives Association, Fair Trade USA, Frontline/WORLD, National Education Association, and National Public Radio. When not consulting at Google Brand Studio, she writes stories on travel, art and food for the BBC, NBC, Lonely Planet, Telegraph, Guardian, New York Times, Cooking Light and sundry other global outlets. Suitcase space. Make room to accommodate specific requests from destination nonprofits, and colleagues or friends who want to share a memento with friends or family there. Carrying a little extra weight is a small but tangible act of kindness that creates powerful bonds. Research skills. You know this from professional experience: to maximize positive impact, you must do advance research. So before you even buy a ticket, research where you might want to go, stay, eat and do - and use impact as a filter. Don't count on locals to educate you once you're there - they might not have the time, and they might not know. Willingness to go the extra mile ... or 30. Every dollar you spend in rural areas is circulated through the community 4-10 times more than in cities. But looking at travel industry data, most people don't venture more than 2 hours beyond city limits. That's a lost opportunity for rural areas, but it's our loss as travelers, too. We're missing out on enriching experiences in absolutely beautiful places. Sometimes these places are not set up for tourists, so you have to do extra research to find out how your visit can be mutually rewarding. A passion or belief that transcends borders. This could be a big idea like net neutrality, or refugee support - a Google Brand Studio colleague of mine, Ryan, just came back from a 20% project setting up wifi at Syrian refugee camps in Greece. He's also a doodler, because: Google. People in the camp wanted him to draw them, so he did - and they offered him tea in return. Now the refugees he bonded with over tea have wifi to connect with family in other places, and they have world-class avatars, too. He's allowed me to bring some with me today. But there are other ways to follow your passions to a positive impact besides doodling - like eating. I'll explain how. Information. Open source your discoveries. Join forces and networks with the people you meet. Widen the circle for people to be heard, and get to know each other. And one day, you may be invited to hang out with people whose work you sincerely admire - and you won't have to show up empty-handed, or wonder what you have to offer. You'll have some information they might be able to use to make their next trip more meaningful. This just happened to me, right now. Next time it's your turn. Let's make this exponential.

Google Data Studio Tutorial Part #1: Why We Use Data Studio

15:29
We’ve all heard the saying "A picture is worth a thousand words." But a picture of your marketing data can be worth much more than words! If you’re using charts or graphs to present your work to your stakeholders or clients, pictures of your data could be worth LOTS OF MONEY. *Read full tutorial - https://www.jeffalytics.com/google-data-studio-tutorial/ Data visualization can also be critical to internal reporting. Using a dashboard can help your team track their progress and achieve their goals quicker. But creating a picturesque, “budget approved” worthy marketing reports can take forever. As I much as I hate to admit it, I used to spend 30+ hours a week building reports for clients. Fortunately, nowadays, there are tools like Google Data Studio (GDS) that can help significantly reduce the time it takes to produce reports. And with the right game plan, we can create reports that allow our clients or our organization to see our grand marketing vision. Reporting is critical to every business. Reports show clients, team members, and stakeholders the results of our marketing efforts. Reporting also plays a vital role in getting budgets approved and contracts renewed. But there are two major obstacles to delivering the kind of reports that get people to take action. The first obstacle is time. Mining data and formatting charts can eat up hours and hours of time. The second obstacle to effective reporting is strategy. Without strategy, reports have a habit of turning into a jumbled mess of disjointed KPIs. It's our job as marketers, to make sure our audience can follow our reports. So we need to create reports that communicate a story about our marketing strategy. Our reports should highlight our results and provide conclusions we can use to inform our decisions making. In this tutorial, we are going learn how to use Google Data Studio to reduce our reporting time and effort. We'll look at how to: - Get started in Data Studio -Use the GDS data connectors to save yourself from repetitive data mining - Create branded charts, graphs and tables without doing hours of data manipulation Once we have some Data Studio basics under our belt, we'll look at how we can use strategy to deliver better reports. I'll introduce my brand new ACES Framework, and we'll look at how to: - Use ACES to picture our entire marketing funnel, top-to-bottom - Create a Data Studio dashboard that reports on our complete marketing funnel - Build targets in your reports so that you can measure your progress toward your goals - Connect Data Studio to platforms outside the Google family of products. Google Data Studio Tutorial - Part #1 - Why should we use Google Data Studio? Live data and integrations are a difference maker There are three key ingredients that make Google Data Studio such a useful platform. More effective graphics The visualizations in Data Studio are easy to use. They also feature a lot of design options. And they about 100x more attention-grabbing than the Excel charts and tables, or the Google Analytics dashboards. Automating data mining Connecting GDS to your other marketing systems can save you from hours of data mining. Data Studio natively connects to over 17 different platforms. These platforms include Google Analytics, Google Ads, YouTube, and Google Sheets. You can also use the Data Studio partner connectors to hook up to over 90 other data sources. As part of this tutorial, we’ll take a quick look at a premium partner connector - Supermetrics - that can help you connect to: Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, SEMRush and many other platforms. Live Dashboards Data Studio reports are live. As long as your marketing systems are connected to Data Studio, your dashboard can serve as a real-time picture of your KPIs. 'Leave my studio!' Katie Hopkins SHUTS DOWN Russell Brand after he HIJACKS her radio show!

Katie Hopkins SHUTS DOWN 'liberal' #Numpty Russell Brand after he HIJACKS her #LBC radio show! KATIE Hopkins had a surprise disruption on her #LBC show yesterday when Russell Brand came storming in to hijack her radio interview - however, she had the last laugh. Katie Hopkins' weekly #LBC show was coming to an end this morning when Russell Brand charged in. She had been busy speaking to a caller about the Swedish terror attack when she was forced to put that on hold to deal with the celebrity intruder. She said: "Russell Brand, would you mind leaving my studio and I will deal with you after, you naughty child? "Have some sense of diplomacy. Poor Paul here was just making an important point." Mr Brand blamed the prank disruption on a "misunderstanding" before claiming that the #LBC host had invited him in.
