Check out the most mysterious sea monsters carcasses ever found! From unidentified sea creatures to bizarre ocean animals washed ashore, this top 10 list is shrouded in mystery! Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Watch our "Most MYSTERIOUS Ocean Facts!" video here: https://youtu.be/BzrlpgRVPQg Watch our "Most Amazing Cities Found UNDERWATER!" video here: https://youtu.be/rUqxhYJqGhU Watch our "STRANGEST Things Found In The Ocean!" video here: https://youtu.be/0eRi-vbA2y4 9. Russian Specimen In 2015, the world was once again amazed as a mysterious creature washed up on a Russian beach. A giant sea creature with a bird-like "beak" and fur on its tail sparked controversy in hours! Russian social media went crazy! It was said to be similar to a dolphin but was twice the size of your average human. On top of that, it had fur. Pretty strange since sea creatures are not commonly seen with fur!! Some claim it resembles a Ganges River dolphin, which are normally found in the freshwater regions of India, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh. These dolphins have a small hump instead of a dorsal fin, a brown coloring and the tendency to swim on their sides. But, there is one fact that these theorists are ignoring. Ganges dolphins do not have fur! Oh yeah! Plus, they are much smaller than this mysterious Russian creature. Because of this, these individuals counter back with their suggestion that the creature was simply a washed up llama or other mammal. They say perhaps the beak was actually a snout and the body composition was previously mistaken for a sea creature. To this day, no one knows for sure what it is, and chances are…it’s probably too late now! 8. New Zealand Beast New Zealand hasn’t had just one case of a sea monster carcass shrouded in mystery. Back in 2013, a mysterious thing washed ashore causing insane speculation across the country. The Daily Mail reports that “A YouTube video filmed by Elizabeth Ann on Pukehina Beach shows the half-buried head of a carcass with jagged teeth and gaping jaws”. Only its head and what looks like flippers are visible above the sand. This beast could have been up to 30 feet long!! A marine biologist suggested it was a whale. Other theories ranged from a seal to a crocodile to a dinosaur!! Yes, people say it is some ancient creature that no longer exists! What that creature really was has yet to be determined. 7. Bermuda Blob There is no doubt that Bermuda is full of mysteries. One of these is the appearance of not one…but two mysterious blobs that appeared nearly ten years apart. The Bermuda Blob is the name given to two globsters, or unidentified sea creature carcasses, that washed ashore on Bermuda in 1988 and 1997. The first Bermuda Blob was found by Teddy Tucker, a fisherman and treasure hunter, in Mangrove Bay in May 1988. The man said the blob was about "2½ to 3 feet thick . . . very white and fibrous . . . with five 'arms or legs,' rather like a disfigured star." To further prove its existence, samples of the specimen were gathered and analyzed in 1995. It is believed that these specimens were from a poikilothermic sea creature, either a large teleost or an elasmobranch. Yeah, that really clears it up doesn’t it?? This just means it was a large bony fish, shark or ray. Another suggested that the remains belonged to a whale. The same thing happened in 1997 but it wasn’t analyzed until 2004. Evidence from this sample suggested a whale again. But of course, nothing was ever proven, and science itself leaves this case open, as another one of the ocean’s greatest mysteries. 6. Muriwai Monster Some other very strange things have been popping up on New Zealand beaches after the earthquakes in 2016. The large weird-looking object that looked like it was covered in dreadlocks washed up on Muriwai beach in Auckland. Melissa Doubleday discovered it and thought it was a beached whale. She posted pictures to facebook to get some ideas and people suggested everything from a sea monster with dreadlocks to an alien pod time capsule! The real answer is probably way more boring than this. New Zealand Marine Sciences Society believes it is a piece of driftwood covered in gooseneck barnacles. Gooseneck barnacles are crustaceans that attach themselves to driftwood or rocks, but this is a rather extreme case, wouldn’t you say? They normally use biochemical cement and a peduncle to glue themselves onto objects underwater. They then ride water currents to wave their appendages in order to filter out food particles. Fun fact: Gooseneck barnacles are said to be a delicacy in Spain and Portugal. Now, does this amazing creature really look like a thousand appetizers? Or does it look more like a Rastafarian sea monster? That’s what I thought! Check out these 10 sea monsters attacking a boat! This top 10 list of ocean creatures like whales and great white sharks attacking a ship shows some bizarre stories caught on camera! Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Watch our "MYSTERIOUS Creatures Living At The BOTTOM Of The World!" video here: https://youtu.be/Efhjc-Gu508 Watch our "SECRETS Casinos DON'T Want You To Find Out!" video here: https://youtu.be/hAoABuvzOZM Watch our "RAREST And Most EXPENSIVE Cars In The World!" video here: https://youtu.be/MtCnWSqqilg 10. Great White Shark If you’ve been on a boat out on the ocean, a Jaws attack has probably crossed your mind. Even if it’s just barely!! Then of course you rationalize that the chances of that happening are practically 0. Practically. That’s what Terry Selwood, a 73-year-old Australian fisherman learned in 2017, when a great white shark leapt out of the water, into his boat!! 9. An Eagle Ray Rays seem like beautiful, serene creatures - but they can be extremely dangerous, even if you’re on the relative safety of a large tourist boat. In 2011, Jenny Hausch had rented a 26-foot catamaran for her family to take a trip in Florida. Sounds really nice right? 8. Swordfish In 2017, Alan Pope, a British tourist, was on a boat trip getting ready to go snorkeling in Indonesia when everything went horribly wrong. Without any warning, a swordfish jumped out of the water and into the boat, and impaled his neck with its bill. The end snapped off, and left six inches of the sword still jabbed inside his neck, just millimeters from instantly killing him. 7. Sperm Whales The Gulf of Alaska is a prime fishing location, especially for those trying to catch black cod. In these waters, though, there is a much larger creature that also likes eating the fish- sperm whales. They are the ocean’s largest toothed predators, and while they are quite capable of catching food for themselves, they much prefer taking the easy route. 6. Giant Squid Mostly creatures of legend, giant squids are mentioned in many old mariners tales of dangers at sea. But they are rarely seen, let alone involved in attacking boats. So when a team of French sailors came face to face with one in 2003, they almost didn’t believe it!! 5. Bull Shark You might think that a great white shark would be the most problematic shark species to boats, but there’s another type that can be more aggressive, and more likely to risk an encounter. 4. Jellyfish Sometimes it’s the smallest things that can have the biggest effect, something that became ever so apparent in 2017 when Chinese scientists were investigating why their aircraft carriers were experiencing difficulties. They found that large swarms of Jellyfish were getting caught up in the propulsion systems! This would stop the ships dead in their tracks, or cause the engines to overheat and cause extreme damage. 3. Mako Shark This next story took place just last year, 2017 in Long Island, New York. A fishing charter boat was taking guests to the location where they find the widest variety of fish, when suddenly a Mako shark jumped onto the side of the boat. Unfortunately for the fish, it managed to get itself stuck in the handrail of the boat and, despite thrashing about, it couldn’t free itself. 2. Black Marlin Game fishing is a popular pastime for many enthusiasts, but when you’re chasing after some of the largest and most powerful marine creatures on earth, you have to be ready for the unpredictable. Again last year, things went very wrong indeed for a fishing boat off the coast of Panama. They had caught a black marlin, a species that can weight up to 1500 pounds and reach speeds of up to 50 miles per hour. 1. Killer Whale If you’ve ever watched a nature documentary that’s featured Killer Whales, you’ll be all too familiar how organised and clever they can be. Pods work together to catch prey, and even tilt ice flows to trap seals. When they turn these skills towards human activity, the results can be frightening. Northern Stargazer Astroscopus guttatus is a strange-looking fish that’s known more commonly as the Northern Stargazer. In paradoxical contrast to its romantic-sounding name, the Northern Stargazer is, for lack of a better term, unattractive, if not downright homely. It dwells at the bottom of the Chesapeake Bay and along the eastern seaboard of the United States, from North Carolina to New York, in waters up to 120 feet deep. So if you live around here, keep an eye out! 6. Giant Squid Until 2006, the existence of the giant squid was considered to be barely more realistic than that of the Yeti, the Loch Ness Monster, Sasquatch, and dozens of other creatures that were rumored to exist, but remained largely relegated to mythological status. The only thing that placed the giant squid a notch or two above the rest of those creatures were the scars left on whales and the discovery of their carcasses by fishermen after having floated to the water’s surface. 5. Black Dragonfish The black dragonfish is a deep-sea dweller that resides about 2,000 meters below the ocean’s surface. The amazing thing about this guy is that is represents one of the most extreme cases of sexual dimorphism, which refers to a distinct difference between the sexes in size or appearance that exceeds the fundamental difference between sexual organs. 4. Deep Sea Anglerfish Like the black dragonfish, male deep sea anglerfish are smaller than females. In this case, some male species of anglerfish are parasitic, and subsist by attaching themselves to the body of a female. While they may not have a gut, they do have teeth! 3. Goblin Shark The goblin shark is a rare species of deep-sea shark. It’s the only surviving relative of a 125-million-year-old lineage known as the family Mitsukurinidae. Because of this, the goblin shark has earned the nickname “living fossil.” The goblin shark’s distinctive appearance is creepy to begin with: it’s pink-skinned with an elongated, flattened snout that resembles a sword blade. 2. Blobfish Our next spooky sea creature is, quite possibly, the world’s ugliest animal. I don’t know, between this and the deep sea angler fish, which one do you think?? Let me know in the comments below!! It goes through life doing exactly what you’d probably expect a blob to do - not much. In the deep waters off the coasts of Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand that it calls home, the blobfish survives essentially by drifting around on the ocean floor at great depths and eating whatever appears in front of it, namely deepwater crustaceans. 1. Frilled Shark At first glance, the frilled shark looks like something you might see in a science fiction movie - perhaps, for example, an unlikely hybrid between an eel and a shark. The frilled shark however, is real. Like the goblin shark, it’s often referred to as a “living fossil,” a nickname that alludes to the minimal change the species has undergone since prehistoric times. It is hundreds of meters tall, with human-looking arms and legs and a pair of wings on its back. Cthulhu's head looks like an octopus, with tentacles surrounding its supposed mouth... H. P. Lovecraft's story, "The Call of Cthulhu", established the character as a malevolent entity hibernating within an underwater city in the South Pacific called R'lyeh... Games company TSR included an entire chapter on the Cthulhu mythos in Deities & Demigods (1980)… Number 9. Leviathan. The Leviathan of the Middle Ages was used as an image of Satan, attempting to eat God’s creatures... Leviathan became associated with, and may originally have referred to, the visual motif of the Hellmouth, a monstrous animal into whose mouth the damned disappear at the Last Judgement... Young Earth Creationists argue that both the Leviathan and the Behemoth in the Bible could only have been dinosaurs that they claim still existed when the Book of Job was written... In the study of demonology, the Leviathan is one of the seven princes of Hell and its gatekeeper.

From the Kraken who’s waiting to be released! To the demon like merman with the body of a shark, here are 12 Biggest Legendary Sea Monsters Subscribe to American Eye NOW 6. Moby Dick This is the whale featured in one of the greatest American novels of all time by Herman Melville, Moby Dick or the Whale that bit off the captain, Ahab’s leg at the knee. This giant whale, is described by Ishmael as having a peculiar snow white wrinkled forehead with high pyramidical white hump. The rest of its body was striped with patches of white and gray. It was never mentioned exactly how large it was but this was claimed to be the largest sperm whale in existence. Sperm whales can grow up to 90 feet so we imagine maybe twice that size. A ferocious sperm whale was found off the coast of Chile, in the 1830’s that was rumored to have taken 20 harpoons to take her down. 5. Adaro Imagine mermaids being a little more demon-like and that’s basically what an adaro is. This creature is apart of mythology from the Solomon Islands and are described as a man will gills behind his ears, tail fins for feet, a horn like a shark's dorsal fin with a sword fish growing out of his head like see in this photo. Doesn’t sound too inviting! They’re supposedly very dangerous like you could imagine and they come from the evil side of a person’s spirit. They travel in tropical storms and along rainbows and prey upon unsuspecting fishermen. 4. Ogopogo Also known as the Naitaka, is a cryptid lake monster said to live in lake Okanagan, British Columbia and was spotted by the natives of the land, known as first nations since the 19th century. It’s described as being 40-50 feet long. A cryptozoologists thought that it’s possible that the tribes were misinterpreting common animals such groups of eels, otters, and floating logs. Another sighting occurred in 1926 by about 30 people who all saw the same exact thing, and believed it was a legendary creature. More people are just claiming that their logs again after a mysterious video was made public in 2011. Could all these mysterious sitings really just be logs. Would it be too farfetched to believe a prehistoric creature, undisturbed by man lives in an isolated lake? Ogopogo has become a hit in pop culture especially in the local area. 3. The Megalodon Now we know that megaladon’s do exist but the real question is, are there possibly a few still out there somewhere? Probably not but legends certainly seem to float around quite often that these monsters are still lurking the oceans, somewhere. If you’re not frightened by a giant, 60 foot shark we’re not exactly sure what will. This thing was roaming the seas about 23 to 2.6 million years ago with gaping jaw over large enough that a person could stand inside, like we see here. Each tooth is about the size of your hand and they had 276 of these. They could certainly swallow you whole in one gulp without even taking a bite.. This is considered to be the most powerful vertebrate predator in the history of all time. These guys ate whales for breakfast and sea cows for a snack. Fossils of whales show huge bites ripped out of them. This beast needed a massive amount of food to stay alive and it certainly got just that when it was able to spot a potential prey with also the most powerful bite of any known species. This thing was just as fierce as you could possibly imagine. 2. Aspidochelene This fabled sea creature is actually a giant sea turtle that appears as an island or whale at first glance. When sailors get too close to this creature, it then destroys their ship. There are a few cultures that refer to this creature including the Inuit of Greenland, that would tip over the boats into freezing waters, causing the sailors to die as well as the one in Chile, that just simply devours everything in it’s path. Also interestingly enough, the name of the island in the pacific called tortuga literally translates to turtle because the Spanish because of the shape of the island while coming in on boat.. This cargo ship you see here in this slightly photoshopped photo is in serious trouble and is heading straight for a massive turtle monster in the ocean! While exploring the oceans, it easy to see how the unknown could lead to legends especially to scare new shipmates. 1. Humanoid Mermaids These legendary creatures with the lower half of fish and the upper half of a beautiful woman, are thought to be a part of the lustful imagination of sailors who’ve spent too much time out on the sea. However, coming across one wasn’t such a good sign. They were often thought to be a bad omen and these creatures would distract sailors, forcing them to crash into a cliffside or rock. While it might sound like an interesting tale, there have been sightings of mermaids all around the world and date as far back as 2000 BC during the Babylonian times. Here we see the Babylonian deity known as Oannes, the fish god. As a part

The Lembeh strait in the northern part of the Idonesian island of Sulawesi is a unique hotspot of marine biodiversity. Countless amazing creatures thrive in the underwater landscape surrounding Lembeh island. During four years a wildlife filmmaker couple spent many months in the region capturing hundreds of hours of behavior, lots of it never filmed before. Among other unique behavior the filmmakers were able to shoot an Anglerfish swallowing a Lionfish, a scene resembling Godzilla gulping down Dracula. Elegant seahorses, thumb-splitting Mantis shrimp, and deadly mini-octopuses are just some of the remarkable creatures traditional underwater films tend to overlook. As most of the underwater drama is hidden from plain sight only the groundbreaking macro photography in this film can reveal the awe and beauty of life in the Reef of Little Monsters.

(CC BY-SA 2.0) - A size comparison of a killer whale, blue whale, a Pliosaur (Predator X), and a human diver., or Sponga, Bergens Tidende (CC BY-SA 2.0) - The huge pliosaur fossils had to be cast in plaster before being removed from the Svalbard site., Jørn Hurum/NHM/UiO (CC BY-SA 2.0) List of most terrifying sea monsters ever: 9. Predator X Predator X is the most powerful marine reptile ever discovered. Over 15 meters long, and weighing about 4 tons, it was twice as big as most Jurassic predators. The giant reptile roamed the seas about 150 million years ago and was officially classified as a new species. Now known as Pliosaurus funkei, it had a massive 2m skull with a bite four times as powerful as a Tyrannosaurus rex. (Although I prefer the name Predator X). Studies of the brain cavity of Predator X has revealed that its brain was actually similar to the much smaller great white shark?. In 2006, scientists found two massive pliosaur skeletons in Norway. The giant creatures, looked slightly different from other pliosaurs discovered in England and France over the last century and a half. The pliosaur family had short necks and four large, paddle-shaped limbs like a turtle that allowed them to move up to 5m per second. The newly discovered funkei species likely lived closer to 145 million years ago and ate plesiosaurs, related long-necked, small-headed reptiles. The new analysis shows P. funkei had longer front paddles than other pliosaurs, and different teeth. This predator is still bigger than the largest living apex predator, the whale, which tops out at about 9m (30 ft) long. 8. Plesiosaurs Plesiosaurs were a group of marine reptiles, or dinosaurs-that-weren’t-actually-dinosaurs but lived at the same time during the Jurassic Period. It had a tiny head and a long neck, paddle flippers, and a tail. Even though it was smaller than Predator X, Its mouth was full of needle-like teeth pointing inward, a perfect death trap for prey and for ripping flesh. In 1987 a plesiosaur fossil was discovered with the bones of an embryo in its abdomen, proving that the animal gave birth to live young. This creature seems to have somehow given rise to the Loch Ness Monster as the physical description is very similar. Plesiosaurs would swallow stones weighing about 5 pounds (2.2kg) to help them digest their prey. If there was one plesiosaur you needed to watch out for, it was Liopleurodon (lye plur i dun). This carnivorous beast could weigh over 3,500 pounds and reach over 30 feet in length, including jaws that are believed to be 10 feet alone, complete, of course, with a very wide jaw and several rows of razor-sharp teeth. Their bodies consisted of a unique, paddle design for limbs, which has been tested and proven on small swimming robots that the Liopleurodon would not have been super fast they were terrifyingly agile. Most likely they hunted similar to the crocodiles of today, with short and fast burst attacks. So that makes them just perfect for any underwater haunted...aquarium. 7. Giant Sea Scorpion (Jaekelopterus rhenaniae) Since there is no way I can pronounce this we'll just call this one the Giant Sea Scorpion. Larger than a human and about the size of a crocodile (2.5m), the 390-million-year-old sea scorpion was the top predator of its day. This was one of the two largest arthropods to have ever lived, reaching a length of over 8 feet of armored, clawed horror. Most of us freak out at the thought of a tarantula, so it’s easy to imagine screaming like a banshee if you ever swam by one of these. A huge fossilized spiky claw discovered in Germany in 2007 measured 18 inches (46 cm). We've known about super sized insects for years now but it wasn't until this discovery that scientists realized just how big some of these creepy crawlies could get. The next biggest fossil arthropods were massive millipedes that grew more than 2 meters (6.5 feet) long, 6. Basilosaurus The Basilosaurus’ name and appearance make it seem like an ancient reptile, but it’s actually a blood-thirsty ancestor of today’s whales. It's ironic given that its name means “King Lizard,” but that is because when it was discovered by Richard Owen in 1834, it was thought be a reptile. It wasn't until over 10 years later that he discovered it was actually a mammal and tried to rename it the Zeuglodon, meaning Yoke Tooth, but that didn’t catch on.

UB-85 vs. Sea Monster Coming in at number 5 is probably one of the most well known accounts of a sea monster wreaking havoc on a submarine. In World War I, German submarines prowled the Atlantic just looking for trouble. Little did they know, other subs were the least of their worries. On April 30, 1918, the UB-85 was discovered by a British patrol boat named Coreopsis floating on top of the water. 4. U-28 Schmidt vs. Sea Monster Up next at number four is the battle of the U-28 Schmidt. Though mystery still surrounds the UB-85 attack, it wasn’t the only one to experience a sea monster during World War I. The U-28 Schmidt also had a terrifying ordeal on July 30, 1915. The U-28 Schmidt was prowling around outside Fastnet Rock near Ireland when it came upon a British steamer Iberian. 3. Edward Brian McCleary vs. Sea Monster Sliding in at number three is a battle recounted by Edward Brian McCleary that proves sea monsters don’t just have a thing for the Germans, apparently they love to scare teenagers, too. On March 24th, 1962 five teenage friends named Eric, Warren, Larry, Brad and Edward set out to see the USS Massachusetts that had been sunk by the navy off the coast of Pensacola after it was decommissioned. To them, it seemed like the perfect place to scuba dive. 2. Bambataska Bay Fishermen vs. Sea Monster Number two on our list is the fight of the Bambataska Bay Fisherman. One night in 1889, four villagers of Majanga were out fishing in their long canoe when a fierce serpentine head came blasting up from the water. They estimated it to be around 100 feet long, thick as a barrel with a snake shaped head and large dark green scales. The fisherman began to row to shore as quick as they could but before they could reach land the sea monster snatched the canoe into its jaws and sent the men flying. 1.Armament of Hingham vs. Sea Monster Finally, rounding out our list at number one is the battle featuring the Armament of Hingham off the coast of Gloucester, Massachusetts. This attack might be lesser known, but it is definitely just as mysterious. On May 16, 1818 Joseph Woodward aboard the fishing boat Armament of Hingham recounted his frightening interaction with a sea serpent in an article published in the Essex Patriot.

The giant sea monster that lives in the Bermuda Triangle. We take a look at an alleged sea monster that lives in the Bermuda Triangle. The Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil’s Triangle, is a loosely defined region in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean, where a number of aircraft and ships are said to have disappeared under mysterious circumstances. The Bermuda Beast is a colossal beast that’s said to live in the Bermuda Triangle. It's said to jump out of the water and catch planes in mid air, causing them to crash, and may or may not eat them. This hypothetical creature seem to be an alternative explanation to the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle. If it exists, it would be one of the biggest creatures that has ever lived. THE SEA BISHOP From the mid-16th century onward, depictions of the mysterious sea bishop, or “bishop-fish,” have been illustrated in natural history almanacs. It’s depicted as a humanoid sea-dweller with an elongated, domed head, tentacle-like fingers, feet with no toes, scaly skin, and human-like facial features, such as a beard. A cloak-like fin hangs from its back. 7. AMABIE During the Edo Era, when Japanese society was predominantly agricultural, the legend of the Amabie began. According to the myth, the creature appeared to people in the water with prophecies of either an impending epidemic or a bountiful harvest. 6. EACH-UISGE You’ve probably heard of the Loch Ness monster, which reportedly dwells in a deep freshwater loch of the Scottish Highlands. But have you heard of the each-uisge? This Scottish water spirit may be lesser known than Nessie, but it’s no less intriguing. 5. UMIBOZU Surely, you’ve heard the saying “the calm before the storm.” In Japanese mythology, that phrase takes on a whole new meaning, with calm seas symbolizing the potential emergence of a sea monster known as the Umibozu, or the “sea monk.” 4. AFANC In Welsh mythology, the Afanc is a lake-monster that assumes the form of a dwarf, crocodile, or giant. It preys on anyone who enters the waters it inhabits whether by accident or on purpose. It also thrashes violently and once even reportedly caused a big flood that drowned all the British people. A more popular tale holds that the Afanc became tame after a maiden allowed it to sleep in her lap. 3. ABAIA According to Melanesian folklore, a serpent called the Abaia dwells at the bottom of freshwater lakes in the Fiji, Solomon, and Vanuatu Islands. The Abaia, which can be best described as a large eel, considers all the lake’s creatures to be its children and will anyone who tries to harm or disturb them. 2. FINFOLK These pesky sea dwellers put a whole new spin on the concept of arranged marriages. Finfolk were dark sorcerers with shapeshifting abilities, according to Orkney legend, among numerous other supernatural skills, including the ability to control the weather. During the winter, they lived at the bottom of the sea, in a luxurious city called Finfolkaheem. 1. QALUPALIK The Qalupalik is an evil mermaid in Inuit folklore that’s described as half-human and half sea creature. She spends her days in the frozen Arctic waters, patrolling the shoreline for disobedient children. With claw-like fingernails, green skin, and long, wild hair, the Qalupalik’s appearance is utterly terrifying. She wears a backpack-like garment called an amauti, which is traditionally worn by Inuit women to carry babies on their back.
