How to Ride the London Tube
A guide to riding public transportation in London, the London Underground, also known as the London Tube. I tell you everything you need to know to ride the underground trains in London including how to buy tickets, how to plan your trip, and how to find your train. Overview: The London Underground, also called “The Tube” -- but never “subway” is generally the quickest mode of transport for journeys to another neighborhood or across town. Might not be the best for going a short distance though. Locals laugh at tourists who take the tube one stop. 270 stations on 12 lines which are named and colored. Red is the central line. Trains run 5:30am until Midnight Mon-Thurs, 1am on Friday and Saturday, and Sunday is 6:30am to 11:30pm Rush hour is 8-10am and 5-7pm Planning your journey: Every station has a map, but it’s not to scale, or even geographically correct. Handy to carry a map with you. Google Maps is OK. Doesn’t really account for transfer time. But the citymapper app is way better. Includes walking time, and what part of the train to ride. Buying a ticket: Yes you can get a paper ticket, but its 5GBP for one ride. Hardly worth it. First things first -- Get an Oyster Card -- 5 GBP deposit, then load it up. Stored value, or a travel pass. (travel pass can be paper) You can buy it from any tube station, vending machines take bills, coins, and credit card. But it might not take YOUR credit card. Use machines to top up card too. Getting in: Every station has ticket gates, find the ones that have an arrow that indicates it is for entry. EIther insert your paper ticket in the slot, or tap your oyster card. Will show the oyster balance. You can also use a contactless credit card, but maybe not YOUR card. Finding the platform: Since you planned your route, you’ll know what line you’re taking. Look for the overhead sign, and find the direction (Northbound, Eastbound, etc) The platforms are well marked and signs indicate the way to the platforms and the destinations served by the various platforms. Not all trains on a "line" travel to all stops. Be sure that the train you take travels to your destination by reading the overhead signs or the illuminated sign on the front of the train. Also make sure you take train on the correct branch. Riding the train: Mind the gap getting on. Sit or stand. Mind the priority seats, and mind your head. The doors are curved. Maps inside the train Stops are well announced and you can see outside the window the stops too. I usually find it best just to count. Exiting: Once you get off the train, you’ll either be connecting or exiting. If you’re connecting look for the overhead signs for your transfer line If you’re exiting -- look for the “Way Out” signs. Make sure you are going out the correct exit And then just “tap” your way out. How to Visit Paris on a Budget - Money Saving Travel Tips

Here are some of our tips! Paris is filled with the most iconic landmarks on earth and luckily for the budget traveler, they can all be seen for free! Choosing a holiday apartment rental can help you save a lot of money. You get more space, and bang for your buck and deeper discounts when you stay for a longer amount of time. Having a kitchen in your apartment is a great way to save money on meals. We find that eating out is one of the most expensive parts of travel. so if you can cook yourself a nice romantic dinner in with a bottle of fine wine from the Carfourre, you're going to save a lot of money When in Paris, make sure to take advantage of free tours, they're all over the place and it's a great way to learn about the history of Paris. Many museums in Paris offer free days, once a month, like the Museé D'Orsay here. On the first Sunday of every month, you can get in for free. Be sure to check and see when museums have discounts on certain days of the week where you can get in for the last couple of hours for a fraction of the price. When you're in Paris be sure to take advantage of the free churches like Notre Dame. They're absolutely beautiful inside and they're free! I'm on the steps of Sacre Couer in Mont Martre, and it's the best view of Paris, save for the Eiffel Tower or Monteparnasse, but this view is free. Choosing the right disctrict to stay in can save you a lot of money. This studio in Montmartre starts at 49 Euro a night. So another great budget tip in Paris is head down to your local Fanprix or Carfourre, grab yourself some meats, cheeses and baguettes, and head somewhere to have yourself a great picnic. When you do decide to eat out in Paris, make sure to hit the Latin Quarter, you can get a 3 course meal for under €20. Here's a tip to help you save money, whenever you see the emblem of Paris on a museum, it means it's free. Here's a great site in Paris that you can see for free! Instead of taking taxis or tourist busses, take the metro instead. Paris has an extensive system and it stops at all the major sites. There is so much that you can do for free in Paris, be it walking through the cemeteries of Monteparnasse and Pere la Chaise to visit the famous residents, to taking advantage of watching the talented musicians and artists performing in the streets. You don't need to go inside to witness beautiful art in Paris. The city itself is a living work of art.

Must Visit Places In Delhi | A Day Tour in Hop On Hop Off Bus | DesiGirl Traveller
Sightseeing tour is something we all wish to do when we visit to a new city. I love it too and that’s why I decided to take a sightseeing tour in Delhi – the capital city of India. I feel it is fun to explore your own city like a tourist. So, in this video, I have travelled in HOHO (Hop On/Hop Off) Bus to a few of the must-visit places of Delhi. HOHO bus is a sightseeing tour (a part of Delhi Tourism) initiative to help the tourists explore the must-visit places of Delhi in the best possible manner. What makes HOHO bus tour different than organized tours by travel agencies is the fact that HOHO bus tour is inexpensive, flexible and doesn’t require a definite planning in advance. The ticket price is Rs 500 for 1 day trip in which you can travel to 20 tourists’ places in Delhi. There is a HOHO bus at every 40-45 mins at the dedicated bus stops in Delhi. The routes of Hop On Hop Off bus cover museums, monuments, gardens, galleries, hotels, bazaars, shopping malls etc. Overall, the service of this tour bus by Delhi Tourism is designed to offer a complete experience of the capital city of India to a tourist. The ticket price doesn’t include tickets of monuments and other sites. You have to buy separate tickets for every monuments and sites of Delhi which you visit. Timing of the bus is: 7.50 am. 8.30 am, 9.10 am, 9.50 am, 10.30 am and so on. The bus starts from Baba Khadak Singh Marg. The earlier you start the more places you get to visit. You can book the ticket either from the counter at HOHO Bus office at Baba Khadak Sign Marg, or buy it online from http://hohodelhi.com/. You can even buy entry ticket online for monuments like Qutub Minar, Humayun’s Tomb, Red Fort etc and save time. How to reach HOHO Bus Office: Metro – Nearest Metro Rajeev Chowk Metro Station. Exit Gate No 7 (8 mins walking distance) From Airport – 20 mins by Express Metro from T3 to Shivaji Stadium metro station, (4 mins from HOHO Centre) New Video every Tuesday & Friday! New Electronic Trip Planning.mov
On Monday, May 23, Metro held a press conference in the bus garage to announce new innovations in electronic trip planning. Metro trip planning information is now available in Google Maps. Metro is also now partnering with third party programmers to promote smart phone apps that show bus GPS location information. Mayor Paul Soglin, Transit and Parking Commission Chair Gary Poulson, a phone app designer and a representative from Google attended the event. These new innovations make it easier and more environmentally friendly to ride the bus than ever before. Google trip planning information is available in multiple languages including Spanish and there is also an interface that is easily accessible by screenreader devices used by the visually impaired. Staff hope that these new innovations will help attract new riders as well as encourage a movement away from the use of paper schedules.

Futuristic Gyroscopic Transportation By Dahir Insaat
GYROSCOPIC TRANSPORTATION OF THE FUTURE amazing concept from DAHİR İNŞAAT highlights what could possibly be the future of transport. this was designed for the urban commuter looking for an entirely new and unique driving experience. With just two wheels, the glass-dome cabin is self-balancing and can be controlled with a joystick instead of a steering wheel. This has a huge potential to provide an efficient, economical, safe, environmentally friendly, comfortable, and maneuverable conveyance that is independent of the general traffic flows on arterial roads. That is because the lane separator between lanes satisfies all of the requirements for the creation of this mode of transportation. It will inevitably take its rightful place as a modern urban form of transportation. It is just simply too tempting to be able to travel without traffic jams at any time of the day or night. It is a friendly vehicle that is always nearby and is never late. It makes no audible noise, and when you travel on it, you will be able to relax in one of its comfortable seats. Dahir Insaat considers the gyro monorail to be a priority business project. Starting today I am ready to accept offers to license this mode of transportation. I am prepared to sell everything from a manufacturing license to the exclusive right to operate this vehicle in specified countries. Respectfully yours, Dahir Semenov. https://www.abw.by/news/180549/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fc1dU... https://www.popmech.ru/…/234278-girok... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3FEK... www.seakeeper.com/products music : Track: NIVIRO - The Floor Is Lava [NCS Release] Music provided by NoCopyrightSounds. Washington DC Travel Tips: 10 Things to Know Before You Go to DC
Things you NEED to know BEFORE you go to Washington DC. DC is often referred to as "The District." You could easily spend a week in DC, especially if you want to see George Washington’s house in Mount Vernon and Thomas Jefferson’s house in Monticello. The City is laid out in a grid pattern with lettered streets running east-west, numbered streets running north-south. Diagonal streets — usually named after states — often intersect at circles (30 circles) Dupont Circle is my favorite circle. Comprised of four quadrants (NE, NW, SE, and SW), which spread out from the U.S. Capitol. Getting in There are three Airports -- none of them actually in DC Reagan (DCA) -- right next to DC -- connected by Metro or $20 Cab Ride Washington Dulles (IAD) Baltimore-Washington (BWI) Amtrak to Union Station Or Drive Transportation in DC Walk One of the 10 of the most walkable cities in the USA Travel + Leisure rated D.C. as the third rudest city in America, Metro Smart Trip Card Capital Bike Share 175 stations across the city Sign up for a day, or three Taxis/Uber plentiful Driving: Beware -- traffic is miserable and oneway streets abound Parking is expensive -- Use parking panda Museums Smithsonians are free Most on the national mall Air and Space has 2 locations -- one by Dulles Newseum and Spy Museum are expensive My favorite is the Bureau of Engraving and Printing No reservations required September 5, 2017 through March 2, 2018 Washington Monument elevator is really cool -- but it’s often broken Best gift shops are in the museums Government Stuff Capitol Building or the White House, make sure to book your tickets in advance. Capitol tour, reservations online or through your Congressional representative or senator. Capitol Visitor Center provides a limited number of day-passes starting at 9 a.m. White House, reserve a few months before your trip. Thru congressional representative. Time to visit Cherry Blossom Season Not the summer when all the school kids are there And the Summer is oppressively hot and humid, especially in August And maybe not when the govt is in full swing I like Winter -- no crowds at all Hotels Can be really expensive, as can parking My favorites are the Park Hyatt and the Mayflower Stay outside of DC in Arlington or Alexandria for cheaper hotels Just a short metro ride in to the city Food The national mall and monument area has almost no food Union Station and Le’fant plaza good for lunch, or around the white house Avoid the Chinese food in Chinatown -- it’s all really awful But George Bush’s favorite Chinese restaurant is just 20 minutes driving outside of DC Peking Gourmet Inn in Fall Church -- Awesome Peking Duck My Favorites: Potbelly My Favorites: Moby Dick House of Kabob My Favorites: Ben’s Chili Bowl DC is more than just monuments and the National Mall Get out and see the real DC Georgetown Penn Quarter Adams Morgan Smithsonian Zoo U Street Walk the red line Timecodes: DC General: 00:27 DC City Layout: 01:37 Getting in to DC: 02:35 Transportation in DC: 03:59 DC Museums: 06:02 Government Stuff: 08:51 Best time to visit DC: 10:05 DC Hotels: 11:43 DC Food: 13:51 The Rest of DC: 18:20 CLICK HERE TO SUBSCRIBE: http://bit.ly/yellowwsub You might enjoy watching some of my other USA Travel Videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLOVadUHX1B-Kv1gRgHpJoe33hGodcPi8R Yellow Productions on social media: FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/YellowProductionsTravel INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/yellowwproductions/ TWITTER: ChrisRaney GOOGLE+: https://google.com/+yellowwproductions Check out my blog at: http://yelloww.net Yellow Productions Merchandise: https://www.teepublic.com/user/yellowproductions Music: Easy Lemon Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)

Let’s start with my preconceptions: I expected Japan’s capital, and home to the world’s largest urban population to be over the top and really in your face, with neon lights and anime at every turn and i certainly wasn’t disappointed. The streets are lined with towering, multi-storey buildings, each filled with mind bending department stores and arcades, offices to some of the world’s biggest brands and restaurants serving the best food you’ll ever taste. But despite all the apparent madness and chaos, spend a few days in Tokyo and it just makes sense. Here, efficiency is an art form. Japanese attention to detail is legendary, and it runs through everything, from food to public transport and urban planning. And yes, even the toilets. This trip was an educational and weirdly enlightening experience. I’ve been lucky to visit a lot of amazing places making these videos, but Tokyo is in a league of its own. So Tokyo, it’s big, it’s busy and it’s brilliant. As ever, let’s start with the airports. Flying from the UK you’ll come into one of Tokyo’s two major international airports, Haneda or Narita. Of course, you don’t need me to tell you that Tokyo is a really long way away, direct flights from Europe will take a whopping 12 hours for the nine and a half thousand kilometre journey. So you’ve got Haneda airport which is roughly 13 miles south of the city, and then you’ve got 50 miles east. Fortunately, both are really easy to get to noisy noisy Tokyo. Here’s what you need to know. From Haneda you have three main options, the airport limousine bus, a taxi or the monorail. The airport limousine takes between 30 and 45 minutes, stopping at most major hotels in the centre of town, with prices increasing for the night service between midnight and 5am. A taxi should take about half and hour depending on traffic, with prices depending where you’re being dropped off. There’s also a 20% extra charge between 10pm and 5am. However the quickest option is the airport’s dedicated monorail. It’ll get you into Hamamatsucho station in 13 minutes and from here you can connect to the circular Yamanote metro line to reach other parts of the city. The metro runs between 9 and 7 on weekdays and then 9 to 5 on weekends and public holidays. That’s Haneda! Here’s what you need to know about Narita. Narita is a whopping 50 miles east of Tokyo, so all of your transport options are going to take a while. The Airport Limousine bus and taxis runs from Narita but both will take anywhere between 90 minutes to 2 hours to reach central Tokyo. Instead, take the JR Narita Express. It’ll whisk into town in a little under an hour, and with this being Japan, the trains are on time and super efficient. A word of warning about getting home; if you’re flight’s on a Sunday, make sure you check the train times because there’s a reduced service. Check your departure time, and then allow plenty of extra time to get to the airport.

Checklist for Dubai: Flight Tickets : Check online web portals for cheapest rates and also Google for promo codes. !! Accommodation : Cleartrip.ae / Goibibo.com / Bookings.com have the best deals !! Do google for promo codes for the mentioned websites. Make sure the hotel you stay is very CLOSE TO A METRO STATION !! Transportation : Ask if there is an all day pass at the metro station and find out approx local taxi rates in the country or if your part of UBER just use it cause its convenient that way and avoids cash hassels !! The local taxi's are great but if the taxi driver doesn't happen to know the location your screwed. So the best option is UBER. Activities : In dubai ensure you check out headout.com / cobone.com / groupon.ae for discounted rates !! Ensure you READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS BEFORE BOOKING. Food : The above websites have brilliant food deals as well but I'd suggest you try the local middle eastern cuisine as its FANTASTIC !!

How to use the STIB Ticket Machine
If you are in Brussels and need to get around, chances are that you'll be making use of the buses, trams and Metro. To do that you only need one ticket, which you can buy from a ticket office or from one of the automatic machines. I had a comment on one of my blog posts that the machine wasn't intuitive to use, so here is a very short video explaining and showing you how. For more information on how to find your way around and plan your trip see http://www.brussels-blog.co.uk/how-to-use-the-stib-journey-planner/
