Sea Lions Tonite 2015 (Full Show) at SeaWorld San Diego (6/16/15)

18:38
Note: I do not own any of the music in this show and no financial gain was made from this video. Sea Lions Summer Night Show Guide: 1:07 - Explorer's Reef/Sea Rescue 3:14 - One Ocean (Shamu Show Parody) 5:47- Pets' Rule 7:38 - Manta 10:19 - Cirque de la Mer (My favorite part this time around!) 13:00 - Blue Horizons (Dolphin Show Parody) 16:28 - Ending Sea Lions Tonite is a great show for guests who've spent a day at the park because it parodies rides, shows, and attractions around the park! They do have a Dolphin Days parody but only on days that show runs (currently Thurs-Sat). I was confused about the schedule so I was not able to get Dolphin Days or a Dolphin Days Sea Lions Tonite on video, sorry! Duke, Kiawe?, and ? (California Sea Lions) and Min and Willow (Asian Small-clawed Otters) at SeaWorld San Diego on 6/24/14. Do not use without permission.

Sea Lions | JONATHAN BIRD'S BLUE WORLD

13:21
In this intriguing segment, Jonathan goes diving with a group of playful sea lions in the Galapagos Islands. Impressed by the apparent inquisitiveness of the sea lions, Jonathan heads to the Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut where he learns how they train sea lions, and how smart they are. This is an HD re-release of a segment originally produced for Season 3 and released on YouTube in 2012. San Francisco's Sea Lions at Pier 39 (in HD)

02:30
Filmed October 20, 2009 before the animals began leaving in droves November 27, 2009, almost as if someone had issued an order. San Francisco's Sea Lions could be found sun bathing, barking and up to their old antics at the marina's K-dock. They "hauled out" on PIER 39's K-Dock shortly after the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. The boisterous barking pinnipeds started arriving in droves, taking over the docks in January 1990. And visitors to Pier 39 had enjoyed their antics ever since.

Sea lions mating (Skeleton Coast)

01:39
Every year the spectacle of life explodes in Skeleton Coast. In October, the sea lions come to these shores to mate. The cold Benguela current, which rises from the ocean brings Antarctic Glacier lot of nutrients. These generate an explosion of fish that attract sea lions, who occupy the final link in the food chain. In Cape Cross is the largest colony. At this time concentrating reach over 100,000 lions. Outside the breeding season males because they are just beginning to reach the end of October to mark their territories and to protect females.

California Sea Lions - Pier 39 San Francisco - YouTube Travel

05:18
Not long ago the Pier 39 California Se Lions disappeared over night, just gone. Lucky for us the returned from their trip up the California/Oregon coast. It's thought that food or mating motivated them to move, whatever it was I'm just glad as are all the tourists watching and photographing them that they're back. Sidebar - we saw a lot of seal colonies along the coast in California and Oregon. Canada slaughters seals by the hundreds of thousands and I don't think they would be as welcome at a pier by a city as the sea lions are in California. Thank you San Francisco...

Sea Lions Cut Free from Garbage

04:51
The Vancouver Aquarium's veterinarian, Dr. Martin Haulena, aims his gun at a California sea lion. But instead of bullets, it's loaded with tranquilizer darts. Dr. Haulena, along with the Aquarium's veterinary team and marine mammal consulting biologist Wendy Szaniszlo, spent a day on the west coast of Vancouver Island (Barkley-Clayoquot region) in October 2013, looking for entangled sea lions. On this day, they saw nine entangled sea lions. They were able to disentangle two California sea lions after safely sedating them and cutting the plastic fish-packing straps they had around their necks. This mission was done in partnership with Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Parks Canada, Brian Gisborne of Juan de Fuca Express and the Canadian Wildlife Federation. In 2011, the Aquarium rescued "Flash," a California sea lion that had ingested four feet of fishing equipment. After his rehabilitation at the Aquarium's Marine Mammal Rescue Centre, Flash was successfully released back to his home waters. The Rescue Centre is currently caring for a rescued sea otter suffering from gunshot wounds. Learn more about the Rescue Centre: vanaqua.org/mmr

Loud chubby sea-dwelling mammals, Sea Lions are the dogs of the sea. If they aren't fishing, they love lazing in the sun and barking noisily. These crowded groups of Sea Lions are called colonies. Male Sea Lions are called Bulls.Females are called Cows. And the little ones are called Pups. Sea Lions are very similar to Seals. It's hard to spot the difference. Sea Lions have small external ears. And large strong front flippers which they use to propel themselves under water. On land, they can walk on all four flippers. While silly Seals have to slide along on their bellies instead. Both have sensitive whiskers a large layer of blubber. The blubber makes them look chubby. But it keeps them toasty warm in the cold sea water. Sea Lions love to swim and eat lots of fish. Luckily they can hold their breaths for a long time. And dive very deep to catch fish. One diver got to live the dream of many by getting up close and personal with a huge sea lion colony just off the coast of Mexico’s Isla Santa Margarita and, as the video shows, the cute pups seemed more than happy to see her. The sea lions seemed keen to take a closer look at the camera which captured the incredible footage, with a couple of them even mistaking it for a tasty meal. Husband and wife, Chris and Danika Garlotta, quit their jobs in 2013 to go and travel the world. Since then, they've figured out how to continue visiting new destinations across the globe and still earn a living. One of their recent trips was to the Galápagos islands. They took a Quasar Expeditions cruise to the islands where they were able to explore the islands on land and underwater. They saw numerous species unique to Galápagos, but perhaps the cutest were the sea lions. Here's some amazing footage of their trip. La Jolla Cove Sea Lions, seals, and birds January 2016

05:05
during our stay in Oceanside, my Aunt Martha had Uncle Ron drive us to La Jolla Cove to see the Seals and Sea Lions. There were also some Pelicans and Cormorants as well as smaller seabirds. You need to check the tides and get here at Low Tide. At high tide there is no beach, the seals only come up to rest at low tide. This is a wonderful attraction for anyone in the area to visit. Parking is difficult, but the Cove is easy to find and not far from the freeways. PLEASE Respect Wildlife. Some people were touching the seals who were trying to sleep and the animals were very obviously not happy about it. Don't be afraid to tell someone to Cut It OUt ! This is a populated tourist attraction, once dummies realize 150 people are watching them harass a defenseless animal, they stop. A number of other people were watching the seals and sea lions struggle in the waves right at the water. What we realized after awhile was the sea lions kept turning around when the people got in front of them/ Please let the animals get to the beach. They have got be be tired after fighting those waves! Once they reached the beach to lie down they did not seem to be bothered at all by people looking at them from a few feet away. The best way to enjoy wildlife is by keeping it Wild! I have been to a few "seal beach" areas along the Pacific Coast, this is one of the most impressive between the waves, views, and variety of wildlife. Search "La Jolla Cove" for more info.

The first, Odobenidae, contains only one species: the Walrus. Not hard to recognize. The next family is called Otariidae, and it contains the animals we call eared seals. Sea Lions and Fur seals are so-called “eared” seals because they have an external ear flap. I’ll come back to that. The last family is called Phocidae, and these are the so-called true seals, or earless seals. I hate both of those common names because all seals are truly seals, so the term true seals is meaningless. And Earless? Well, Phocids lack an external ear flap, but they most definitely do have ears, so that’s a bad name too. It’s probably better to just call them Phocids. Although they look like underwater puppydogs, seals and sea lions are actually most closely related to bears, badgers and raccoons! Which explains why they are so darn cute. Anyway, the Otarii seals are easy to recognize. They have external ear flaps, their rear flippers can be rotated forward, and their front flippers are really strong, so they can stand up up and walk on all four flippers on land. They can even run, sort of! When they swim, they generally provide propulsion with the front flippers, like swimming the breast stroke. And they use the rear flippers to steer. And they definitely swim better than they run. The Phocids have no external ear flaps, they cannot rotate their rear flippers forward and they can’t lift their body and walk on their fins. So on land, the best they can do is an awkward inchworm thing. In the water, they use their rear flippers for propulsion, swishing them back and forth, and the front flippers are for steering. And goofing with divers of course.
