Sea Jasper: Featured programmed crystal for Libra
Evolutionary Astrologer, Energy Worker, and Channel Tom Jacobs announces programmed sea jasper as his featured programmed stone of the solar month of Libra (22Sep - 22Oct16). The deal with this stone is all about surrender, letting go, and releasing the perceived need to control life, yourself, outcomes, and everything else. There is a huge difference between resignation (throwing your arms up in the air) and surrender (allowing things to unfold as they need to). These programmed sea jasper pieces are invaluable tools for spiritual development because they will bring you the energy of letting go, providing a constant energetic interrupter to any control-based assumptions and behaviors. See available pieces on sale and order yours here: http://www.tdjacobs.com/seajasper.html See all available programmed crystals and stones here: http://www.tdjacobs.com/crystals.html

Carboniferous life of Texas. Crinoids and other amazing finds.
Let’s take a look at the general body structure of a crinoid . It consists of a crown, which is essentially a cup with brunched feather-like arms and a long stem attached to the ocean bottom. It resembles a flower and this is why the common name of this animal is sea lily. Here we have a cup, arms and distal part of arms with tiny branches with pinnules. The specimen were flattened, as often happens with fossils covered with multiple layers of sediments. Let’s see how different can be the stems of sea lilies. They consist of tiny discs or columnals) with a hole in the center - kind of like donuts or beads. In facts, the discs of fossilized crinoids are often called “Indian beads”. The discs often have scars in places were small brunches or cirries (one sirrus) were attached. The hole inside of the stem is called lumen. The columnals with cirries are called nodals, others are internodals. This is a curious specimen, a crinoid stem with another organism, a solitary coral, attached to it. Many crinoids stems are round but there are plenty of those that have a profile in the form of a star or a pentagon. Now, we will take a closer look at bases of the cup from various species. In the place where the stem is connected to a cup the plates of the cup stick to each other more firmly and can be found together in one piece. The form of the cup is one of the most distinct features that help scientists to identify the species. The plates of the cup can also be in single pieces but now you can easily figure out where they are coming from. They are like pieces of a Nature’s jig-saw puzzle or LEGO. This teeny-tiny plate with pentagonal symmetry was probably attached to the crinoid’s cup serving as a protective scale. But that’s just a guess… The plates of an upper portion of the cup could have additional parts that were sticking out like thorns providing protection against predators. This is how they looked like. It is said that each spine is a single calcite crystal growing slowly but continuously during lifetime of the animal. This is a piece of a crinoid arm that was used to collects floating food particles and to direct them toward the cup along the special groove, which is called food groove. This particular specimen has fragments of side braches or pinnules still attached. Thank you very much for watching! Please like us if you think this video is interesting and continue to watch other specimens from our 300-million years old collection of Carboniferous fossils. We have specimens of wood, gastropods, brachiopods, nautiloids, clams, sponges, sea urchins, and corals. All are shown in great details! Good luck on your trips to search for fossils and other treasures! Link to the first part: https://youtu.be/oIlMcH5kscw

Note: just because it’s found on earth, doesn’t mean it’s from it! 10. Tanzanite 9. Grandiderite 8. Black Opal 7. Taaffeite 6. Alexandrite 5. Musgravite 4. Painite 3. Serendibite 2. Red Diamonds, Pink Star Diamond 1. Jadeite Poudretteite This mineral was first found during the mid-1960’s in the Poudrette quarry of Mont Saint-Hilaire, Quebec. However, it wasn’t until 1987 that the poudretteite was fully recognized as a new mineral. Even then, this mineral wasn't described in depth until 2003. As stated by several different sources, it’s believed that only a relative few will ever come into contact with this mineral and let alone ever even hear it mentioned. Grandidierite This is considered to be an extremely rare mineral and gem that was first seen in 1902 on the Island of Madagascar. It was named in honor after the French explorer Alfred Grandidier who once studied the island’s natural history. Grandidierite comes in a bluish-green color and is located almost entirely in Madagascar, although, there was a clean faceted sample that was found in Sri Lanka. Grandidierite is also pleochroic, which means it's able to absorb different wavelengths of light differently and that results in different colors, such is the same ability with the gems tanzanite and alexandrite. Painite This gemstone was first discovered back in the 1950’s in Myanmar by a British mineralogist named Arthur C. D. Pain. For the next several decades only two fragments of the hexagonal mineral were known to exist on earth. By the time the year 2005 rolled around, there were still less than 25 discovered pieces of painite and The Guinness Book of World Records had declared it the world's rarest gemstone mineral. However, that was 11 years ago and since then the origin of the original stones has been found, along with two other major locations that have led to the discovery of thousands of small samples of painite fragments. Even so, they’re still considered one of the world’s rarest minerals. Ammolite This rare gemstone can be found mainly in the eastern region of the Rocky Mountains of North America. Ammolite is an opal-like gemstone that is solely made up of the fossilized shells of extinct animals known as ammonites. This makes ammolite one of the few biogenic gemstones that exist, along with pearls and amber. Ammolites weren’t officially recognized as gemstones until 1981 when they were given official status by the World Jewellery Confederation. That’s also the same year that commercial mining for ammolite began. Tanzanite It’s been said that tanzanite is 1,000 times rarer than a diamond, which might as well be the case considering the fact that it can be found almost entirely near the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. This is where the perfect conditions lie in order to form the mineral. Like grandidierite, tanzanite is able to produce striking shifts in color based on the crystal’s orientation and the certain lighting conditions. Caltech's geology division states this is because the color variations are caused by the existence of vanadium ions. Red Diamonds Did you know that diamonds come in a variety of colors? In fact, diamonds can range from being yellow, brown, colorless, blue, green, black, pink, orange, and red. That’s also the same order of how rare each diamond is classified as with yellow being the least and red being the most. Not only that but diamonds are also the hardest natural substances that form here on earth. Just like the colorless diamond, the red diamond is made purely out of carbon, however, what gives the diamond its red color is actually a deformation of their atomic structure that’s known as a “plastic deformation”. The Moussaieff Red is the largest red diamond in the world among the little known other red diamonds that have been discovered. 06 Amber, Copal, Plastic or Glass? Gemology contest - Pietre Preziose
Gemology Contest for prizes - Concorso di Gemmologia. Guess the Gemstone - Indovina la Pietra Preziosa. Question 6: A Amber B Copal C Plastic D Glass Dedicato a mia figlia Ambra , una bambina che attualmente ha quasi 3 mesi. La mia Super Gemma Preziosa ha due occhioni blu puro, dal tono medio e saturazione ultra vivida, ma soprattutto ha un cuore colore Ambra grande cosi !! L'Istituto Gemmologico Genovese mette in palio un Diamante naturale di 0,50 ct, Colore H, Clarity Vs1 e Cut Very Good. After my daughter Amber, a 3 month old baby with eyes blue color, medium tone and super vivid saturation! And a very amazing Amber color heart!! Amber is an organic material that originated as resin emitted by the bark of trees more than one million of years ago.The resin was deposited in sediments and fossilized into Amber. Amber is a soft material and is usually fashioned as cabochons, beads, bracelets, earrings, carvings, rings, and various items. Amber is a triboelectric Gemstone because when it comes into a frictional contact with certain materials, like wool, dead leaves or straw, it becomes electrically charged. The triboelectric effect was first discovered by th Pre-Socratic Philosophy Thales of Miletus . Gemological Institute of Genoa, the most beloved by surfers, presents: Gemological contest for prizes. Give 50 right answers to 50 questions in order to win a real half-carat natural Diamond with these features: H Color, Clarity VS1 and Cut Very Good. Enter the answers into the comments section below. The Gemological Institute of Genoa will reward the first one who will exacxtly answer the 50 questions in the 50 videos of the playlist Gemology Contest. What Gem, Gem imitation or Synthetic Gem is framed in this video? A Amber B Copal C Plastic D Glass What a beautiful sun spangles! Is this Gemstone Amber or Copal? Amber is tree resin hardened in the years. If the material is not one milion year old, it's not Amber, but Copal. Copal is softer than Amber because it hasn't had enough time to harden. Sometimes Amber occurs with typical and amazing sun spangles inclusions.
