Lexco Cable - Extrusion Coating of Aircraft Cable & Wire Rope
Need more information on Lexco's coating capabilities? Follow the links below to learn more about our products. PVC/Vinyl Coated Cable https://catalog.lexcocable.com/category/vinyl-nylon-coated-cable- Nylon Coated Cable https://catalog.lexcocable.com/category/vinyl-nylon-coated-cable--1063 More on PVC/Vinyl Coating https://www.lexcocable.com/pvc-vinyl-coating.html More on Nylon Coating https://www.lexcocable.com/nylon-coating.html Extruding plastic coating onto wire rope and aircraft cable is a manufacturing process that we've performing and refining since our company's inception. Subsequently, coating wire rope and aircraft cable is one of our biggest value streams to this day. Our in-house coating process is a jacketing application via pressurized extrusion. We supply coated wire rope and aircraft cable on reels, in pre-cut lengths or fabricated into assemblies. The first plastic resin that we first began extruding is polyvinyl chloride aka PVC aka vinyl. PVC remains as our highest volume coating. The next highest volume coating that we extrude is nylon. PVC coating is used for general purpose applications. The many reasons for PVC coating of wire rope include aesthetics, ergonomics, protection, and visibility. It's used in a wide variety of environments such as indoors or outdoors, wet or dry, exposed or unexposed to UV light. Typical transparent PVC colors that we coat include: Clear Translucent Red Translucent Blue Translucent Green Translucent Purple Translucent Smoke Typical opaque (solid) PVC colors that we coat include: Opaque Black Opaque Blue Opaque Red Opaque Orange Opaque Yellow Opaque White Opaque Forest Green Opaque Olive Drab Opaque Brown The highest visibility opaque (solid) PVC colors that we coat include: Opaque Neon Pink Opaque Neon Yellow Opaque Neon Green Opaque Fluorescent Red The main advantage of nylon coating in lieu of PVC center around it's endurance characteristics in high friction applications. Ways you can observe the higher endurance to friction include the nylon's hardness and temperature rating. Nylon protects the inner-cable from fraying. Typical nylon applications include: Cycling over pulleys and sheaves (fitness cables, conveyor cables, etc) Push-push control actuation There are two nylon product families that we coat: nylon-6 and nylon-11. Nylon-6 is standard grade and the more economical nylon option. Nylon-11 is the highest quality nylon option and it's slightly more flexible than nylon-6. Nylon-11 is recommended for maximizing life cycles in the most demanding applications. Nylon-11 is recommended for push-pull control applications. For a residential application of fitness cables, nylon-6 is typically adequate. For commercial gym application of fitness cables that see rigorous use, nylon-11 is recommended. The nylon colors we typically coat include: Translucent Clear Translucent Green Translucent Blue Opaque Red Opaque Yellow Opaque Orange Opaque Black Opaque Pink If one of our standard colors does not match your organization or product's color scheme close enough then we can quote based on coating your custom color. Please provide a pantone number or hex number for the most accurate color match. Nominal breaking strengths for plastic-coated wire rope and aircraft cable are based on the diameter and grade prior to coating. It's recommended that the coating be stripped in order to swage metal on metal when forming load bearing terminations. Crimping over coating results in light duty terminations and is not load rated. MIL-DTL-83420 Type II = Jacketed Aircraft Cable per MIL-DTL-83420 Black powder coated cable is used for theatrical applications. Since the coating is not plastic you can apply fittings directly to the cable to make load bearing connections when installed properly. Plastic impregnated (spacelay) is used in the logging industry at sawmills. The coating is applied in between the strands for added protection from abrasion. Please let us know if you require RoHS or REACH compliant coated wire rope. We look forward to supplying with your coated wire rope or aircraft cable requirement. Upon special request, we can supply coatings that you may not see above such as HDPE, Hytrel and FEP.

Today they are the industry standard that competitive wire strippers are compared to. IDEAL has been making wire stripping tools since 1956 and now provides an unmatched breadth of reliable strippers; from standard straight handles to various degrees of ergonomic designs. We take pride in offering the professional electrician a tool that works consistently with a long work life. IDEAL created the T®-Stripper line of wire strippers when thermoplastic insulation was first used on branch wiring in the industry many years ago. Today they are the industry standard that competitive wire strippers are compared to. Electrician’s use wire strippers every day and need to stand up to heavy use and provide long-lasting cutting blades. They are the tool they reach for most often when making electrical connections. The form ground, knife type blades offer accurate and easy stripping without nicking the conductor. A key feature to all wire strippers from IDEAL is the heat treatment and hardening process the blades go through to provide the longest lasting cutting blades in the industry. They simply stay sharper longer providing a long-lasting tool. Other features of the IDEAL strippers include vivid laser markings that don’t rub off or fill with dirt, a robust secure spring design that does not become loose, looping holes for bending the conductors into the proper shape for a screw on a wiring device, a convenient plier nose to grip wires firmly; a US and metric strip length guide for precision measuring; and they are constructed in thick carbon steel making them more durable and long lasting. They are available in solid or stranded wire ranges from 6 to 32 gauge conductors and styles from the basic T-5 T stripper catalog number 45 – 120 which has become the “Standard for Wire Stripping” and offers all that anyone needs in a wire stripper at a great price. Commercial journeymen and industrial maintenance contractors prefer the Reflex Premium T-Strippers like the catalog # 45-415, which have a better comfort grip handle and an ergonomic design for maximum comfort and 6/32 and 8/32 screw cutting holes for cutting small bolts when installing wiring devices. They are my personal favorite for a wire stripper. For residential contractors who install wiring devices and strip NM cable all day long, the Reflex Super T-Stripper catalog # 45-621 is designed for 14/2 and 12/2 house wiring. It does it all stripping the outer jacket and the conductors and offers a really great cushion grip that feels good and works well too. The Kinetic Reflex T -Stripper like our Catalog # 45-915 offer even more features including a heavier nonslip textured grip and Thumb ValleyTM making wire stripping easier and more accurate. They also have a slide lock for safety and storage. #RonKipperDatacomm

SureTrace™ Circuit Tracer Tracing Wires in Walls, Floors and Ceilings
The SureTrace™ Circuit Tracer from IDEAL is a great tool when trying to trace wires in walls, floors and ceilings in a building. It can save you hours of time when trying to locate the wires. Make sure to read the manual to learn how to use the tracer or simply watch the videos I have up! Good luck tracing those wires! Sure Trace circuit tracer video Tracing Wire in Walls (beauty pics or video using tracer) Hi folks I’m Ron with ideal In this video I will specifically show you how to trace wires in walls and ceilings using the Sure Trace circuit tracer from IDEAL. (show tracer kit and part #’s customer service #) If you would like to know more about the line of Sure Trace circuit tracers, you can find them on our website or contact our customer service department. The circuit tracer can be used on open or closed circuits and is rated up to 600 V AC or DC and is a category three rated tester so it can be safely used in electrical distribution panels and throughout a building. You can use it to identify breakers and fuses in electrical panels and to trace wires in a building. When you are using the circuit tracers to trace lives circuits please be safe out there and follow good industry safety practices. (Follow NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace) on screen (link) But often you can rely upon the SureTrace’s superior signal tracing ability and use this simpler method. Step one is to plug the transmitter into a wall outlet using the Outlet Plug adapter provided with the circuit tracer. Holding the receiver near the transmitter shows it is receiving a signal and the lightning bolt indicates power is present on the circuit. The receiver works by detecting the electromagnetic field produced by the signal that the transmitter injects into the circuit. Whether the circuit is open or closed greatly affects the strength of the electromagnetic field being generated. In an open circuit, no current flows, so the electromagnetic field produced is weak. However, in a closed-circuit, current is able to flow, resulting in a much stronger electro-magnetic field. For this reason, tracing is best carried out on a live circuit, with the breaker closed. ( show drawings of open and closed circuits) We can provide a complete path for the current to flow by simply placing a load like an incandescent lamp on the furthest outlet in the circuit. This is the optimal method for tracing as this much stronger signal allows the receiver to detect the signal from a greater distance away from the circuit being traced. (Close up of transmitter and receiver at outlet showing display then me plugging in light) The receiver has 4 sensitivity modes with great resolution from 0-99. The ability to change the sensitivity really helps in trying to trace cabling because you can select a high sensitivity setting to get you close to the cable you’re looking for, and then reduce it to zero in on the right one. (Close up video of display being rotated and sensitivity modes) So step two is to set the receiver to the highest sensitivity mode. Start several feet away from the transmitter, then scan the wall with the receiver with the back flat against the wall or ceiling. The reading will vary according to the orientation of the receiver in relation to the wires being traced. Step 3 Rotate the receiver to obtain the highest numerical reading possible. Step 4 Maintain orientation and trace wire, changing orientation as necessary to follow bends and signal strength while tracing. If the reading is too high, reduce the sensitivity. If the signal is too weak, utilize the remote return path method for the transmitter. Then repeat step 2. Continue tracing along the wall ceiling or floor in the direction of the signal. Step 5 Mark the path at intervals using a small piece of tape to indicate the cables location. As the cable direction changes so too will the signal strength and orientation of the receiver. Continue following the highest reading until the end of the cable is found. (Screen Shot of tester and catalog #, customer service #, website) Call the IDEAL customer service line or visit our website to find out more about the circuit tracer and a local distributor you can buy one from. I tell people tracing wires behind walls or in a ceiling is a little bit of an art form. Not always an easy thing to do but using the right tool like the SureTrace circuit tracer makes that tough job much easier to do. Thanks for watching I’m Ron with IDEAL. #RonKipperDatacomm

Which PLC Does Your Company Like to Use
Which PLC does your company like to use? Implementing and documenting PLCs are a central component to any piece of industrial machinery. A PLC, or Programmable Logic Controller is a small industrial computer that resides inside of an electrical control cabinet. It is a Solid State device that replaces the manual, low voltage circuits of the past. They are very cool because they can be programmed to control and monitor tasks of the users' choice via proprietary software that the PLC vendors offer. Speaking of PLC Vendors, there are many out there and they offer a myriad of possibilities for controlling your equipment the way you desire. Many of these suppliers can be found on tracepartsonline.net where you can see 3D models and 2D layouts of their PLC components. However, a PLC is more than just a pretty box or "brick". PLCs has many connection points or terminals for I/O or inputs and outputs. These can range from just a couple circuits to control to hundreds. Some PLCs are even "rack" based to allow different "modules" to be applied for an almost unlimited number of functions. Why do I bring the topic of PLCs up? Because I have discovered an arduous process that industrial controls engineers have to go through to manually create the documentation required for connecting the wires to the terminals of a PLC. In no particular order, the manual process that I have encountered is as follows: • Describe the locations and type of equipment needed to create the desired operation for a machine. This is usually done napkin sketch style or in a simple stencil application like Microsoft Visio. • Create logic driven programs for the PLC to run the operations using proprietary software written to work exclusively with the PLC of choice. • Create a multi-line schematic drawing in a 2D CAD system that replicates the desired functions for the PLC program in terms of which wire connects to the I/O on the PLC "brick" or "Module". • Account for all the wires, connect them to other pages on other sheets to the constituent power components and create cross-reference symbols that show the electrical technical how to wire up one component to another. • Add descriptive information to the PLC control drawing that states what the function of the I/O is as well as the address information used in the programming. This is for the initial installation of the equipment as well as for service and repair. This process, shown below, can lead to error is not handled carefully, let alone the time it takes to actually complete this process and check that the drawings match the PLC program. SolidWorks Electrical has tools to reduce the time and error in the process of PLC documentation. You would still use the proprietary PLC programming software, such as RSLogix for Allen Bradley PLCs or Automation Direct's Koyo Click software to connect to the PLC and program it. But the information for the I/O and the descriptors for what the I/O is doing can be exported as CSV or XLS and imported into SolidWorks Electrical and applied to a PLC. Moreover, SolidWorks Electrical includes many catalog components in the PLC category, both brick style and modular. This catalog even includes all the standard terminals that wires would need to connect to, eliminating the need to manually create connection points on black block type symbols. Once the PLC symbols are places from the catalog on your schematic, they can have standard circuits applied to them, using the SolidWorks Electrical "macro" function. Each PLC can have a set of standard macros to add push button switches, sensors, relay coils, even wire, cable and terminal block info. These can be swapped out at any time using other macros stored in the library. Once the PLC and associated circuits are built schematically, wire numbers can be automatically processed and then be made available for a wire label printing application be exporting a report from SolidWorks Electrical to XLS or other formats. Finally 2D and 3D layour documentation is conneected to SolidWorks mechanical design software so that a deatiled wire connection model is seen by the electrical technician with detailed control box drawings showing component mark numbers as well.

#ProCoSound Professional DMX Wires: By John Young of the Disc Jockey News
#ProCoSound Professional DMX Wires: By John Young of the Disc Jockey News http://www.procosound.com Pro Co Sound is a Michigan-based Corporation founded by Charlie Wicks in 1974. Pro Co builds audio interface products as simple as guitar and microphone cables to complex 256-channel digital snakes, in-ear monitor controllers and facility distribution systems. Pro Co sells through two industry-distinct channels: Musical Instrument Retailers and Sound Contractors. Their needs are so different (although some of the products are the same), that we have different divisions handling each channel – more to keep us sane than anything else. Pro Co sells only to the trades through a network of professional manufacturers’ representatives, not to individual end users. We are not interested in being the “biggest” anything. We are basically “plumbers” to the audio trades and provide 550 different products a day to service their needs. Our interests lie in the continual improvement of our services and products to our customers and their continued satisfaction with or performance. Pro Co serves the standard products market with a catalog of 1400 useful items, as well as custom offerings (that now number over 65,000 in our database). Our population, by design, stays around 100. Growth has been consistent as our markets continue to grow and change. Limiting our staff forces us to improve our methods (both incrementally and with breakthrough products) enabling us to keep our costs low and customer prices fair and stable. Average cable prices have increased less than 1.4% a year since 1988. http://www.discjockeynews.com http://www.djntv.com https://djntv.com/series/djntv-insider-content-drip/ http://www.facebook.com/discjockeynews http://www.twitter.com/discjockeynews http://www.youtube.com/discjockeynews -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: " Disc Jockey News12 Days Of Christmas Drawing 2015 #DJNTV " ➨ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAFDKonIipU -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-

Various WAGO Terminal Blocks and Connectors to join electric wires. Similar to Wire Nuts
Hi, this video shows a wide range of the commonly used WAGO connector terminal blocks in the United Kingdom. You can easily join electric wires together using these great WAGO Connectors. The video shows the WAGO connectors ratings for the UK. If viewing from other countries please check relevant regulations. Wago connectors have revolutionised the way electrical installation is done. The 222 series and the 221 series have screwless connection by simply lifting a small lever, they are fully reuseable. The 773 series and the 2273 series are so simple just strip the end of the wire and push it into the connector. The lighting connectors 224 series allows a solid cable on one side to connect to fine stranded (Flex) on the other which is ideal for low voltage transformers used on down lights. Also shown is some DIN Rail Mounts to house the WAGO connectors All these WAGO Connectors must be housed in a junction box or enclosure. I CANNOT ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS ON THESE WAGO CONNECTORS , PLEASE SEEK ADVICE FROM A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN. Many thanks Vince

TURCK How To Configure an IO Link Sensor with a USB IO Link Master
IO-Link is a fieldbus independent communication interface for sensors and actuators. Signals and energy can be exchanged between any networks, fieldbuses and backplane buses via a digital, serial point-to-point connection. Each IO-Link system consists of an IO-Link master and an IO-Link device (e.g. sensor, I/O hub, valve block). An IO-Link master is provided with at least one IO-Link port (channel). One IO-Link device can be connected to each port. The system components are interconnected according to the port specification via unshielded 3-wire or 5-wire standard cables. The IO-Link technology is described in the “IO-Link Interface and System Specification” and IEC 61131-9. IO-Link-capable devices comply either with specification V1.0 or specification V1.1. The properties, functions and parameters of the IO-Link device are represented in an electronic device description (IODD). The IODDs for Turck devices can be downloaded via the Turck Software Manager and can also be obtained free of charge from TURCK website. The structure of the IODD is defined by the IO-Link specification and is the same for all IO-Link devices. The IODD is based on indexes. The communication properties, device parameters, identification, process, diagnostic and device data are assigned to fixed indexes in the IODD, via which the parameters can be controlled. Some indexes are further divided by subindexes. At least one IO-Link master and one IO-Link device (e.g. sensors or actuators) are required for IO-Link communication. IO-Link master and IO-Link device are interconnected via an unshielded 3-wire or 5-wire standard cable. The setting can be carried out with a configuration tool or via the fieldbus level. The IO-Link master establishes the connection between IO-Link device and the higher-level control system. An IO-Link master can have several IO-Link ports. Only one IO-Link device can be connected to each port. IO-Link hubs also make it possible to integrate devices without an IO-Link output in automation systems via IO-Link. Standard tools and functions are provided for the integration, commissioning and configuration of the IO-Link communication. Shop TURCK: https://www.clrwtr.com/Catalog/Manufacturers/TURCK
