10 ounces of Mixed 90% Silver World Coins

08:56
This is similar to the lot I purchased last two months. I went into this video blind as to what coins I had received. I paid about 26% over spot price for these coins, however they did provide an additional ounce of coins so I did a bit better on pricing. Overall I was very pleased with this purchase and may buy again. In the video I attest that I purchased 10 ounces and they shipped 11. Turns out I purchased 10 troy ounces which is almost equal to 11 ounces. I got a better deal than I thought I had (I paid 9.5% over spot).

Old World Coins, 11 Pounds of Pre 1970 Coins, Gold!?!?, Part 1

10:17
I purchased eleven pounds of bulk foreign coins that are all supposed to be pre-1970. I had two major concerns going into this lot: 1) Lots and lots of 'filler' common coins and 2) in the past coins from this seller have been very dirty. I think I may have found a gold coin which will be my saving grace for this purchase.

Searching 120 Pounds of World Coins for Treasures: Seller 1, 1st 5 Pounds

07:20
As the weather turns cold outside, I turn to indoor activities to keep myself entertained. This winter I'll be searching through 120 pounds of world coins looking to add new types and years to my coin collection. The poundage that I'll be searching has come from 3 different sources (40 pounds from each). The price I paid to each seller was $6/pound. I've decided to take a slower more methodical approach than normal. I'll be rotating through the coins from each seller in 5 pound increments. I'll keep track of how many coins I add to my collection from each 5 pounds (new types and/or new years). Also I'll track, by weight, how much I don't add to my collection by country. This will help me more effectively compare the coins I purchased and determine who I might buy from again on a more objective basis. I hope you enjoy seeing the coins I add to my collection this winter.

1800s TROVE FOUND Half Pound World Coin Search - Bag #14

I received a ton of mixed coins as a bonus from work about a year ago. Instead of sorting through all of them on my own or all at last, I am breaking them up in to half pound lots (like a world coins loot bag or world coins collection) for me to search over the next year(ish?) There were tons of 1800s coins and some really rare or awesome (but not super rare) coins that we got a chance to find in this lot! Looking forward to doing more coin related videos such as coin roll hunting, coin information, coins worth money, bank strap searching, and more in the future. Coin Price Guide Whats The Difference Redbook or Bluebook United States Coin Values

05:36
price guide books of rare coins. This one is the Red Book, a lot of people have seen this one, they know about it. Here is the Blue Book. We've got a red one and a blue one. What's the difference? There are lots of questions about that. Why is there a blue one and a red one? Well the difference is that the red one has retail pricing, and the blue one has wholesale pricing. So quickly, to give you an idea, the prices in this book are half the prices is in this book. Half, so 50%. These are wholesale prices, this is what dealers will pay for example because they have to make a profit obviously. They'll pay probably close to this or try to. These are retail prices. I'm going to show you that the retail prices don't necessarily have to be the prices that you'll pay. I'll give you some examples of that too. That's the difference between them, the dealer book and retail consumer book. So you get the idea of what those are. I want to let you know what you can do when you're looking to buy a coin. If you have a common coin, one that's high mintage, it can be an old coin. What you can expect to pay for a common coin is the price right in the middle of these two books. I'm going to give you an example of that too. Now if the coin you're buying is a key date, and an extremely rare coin, you're going to end up paying retail for it. It's just the way it is, because if it's an extremely rare coin and you don't buy it for retail, somebody else will. This is because rare coins are in high demand when they are up for auction. You can check the auctions, I'm right about that. If a key date rare coin comes up and you want to buy it, pay retail for it and it'll be worth it. Because five years later you're going to say you got a tremendous deal, even if you paid retail, because that coin is going to be 30% more in five years. So that's how it works. Common coins, you can pay right in the middle between these two prices. And if it's an extremely rare coin, you're going to pay retail for it. So I'll give you some examples ere. Actually I've got two coins here that I picked out, an 1845 Seated Dime. Let's say an MS63, the Blue Book says it's worth $300. The red book says it's worth $800. So $300. and $800. What you can expect to pay for that 1845 Dime, and because they minted 1.7 million of them, you can expect that price to be about $600. That's what you'll pay if you want that coin because it'll be right in between the two book values, right in the middle. Now if you're looking at the 1885 S Dime, the 1885 S is extremely rare, only 43,000 were minted compared to 1.7 million of the 1845. So the 1885 S, 43,000 minted, and in an MS63 grade, it's Blue Book value $4,200. The Red Book value, $9,000. It's double what the Blue Book is because Blue Book has half. You can expect to pay $9,000 for that coin. You're going to pay this because it's rare. If you don't pay it somebody else will, and you lose out on that coin. Then just five years later that coin is going to be worth 30% more. That coin is probably going to be $12,000. to $13,000., okay? And because there was only 53 certified and only 35%, are Mint State in 1885 S Dime. Only 35% are Mint State, so that MS63 is expensive for a reason, okay? I hope this helps clarify what the difference between the two books are, wholesale, retail. With a common coin you could be right in the middle. If it's a rare coin, this is the book, that's the price you're going to pay. It is the way it is at the auction. Make sure you go to Land of Coins com so you don't have to pay any buyers fees or seller's fees at auction. Land of Coins com is a person-to-person auction site. You can list your coins for sale on there and you won't pay any buyers fees and you won't pay any sellers fees. It's only $15 a month to sell an unlimited amount of coins. Thank you for watching.

Most INCREDIBLE Coin Discoveries Around the World

09:29
Treasures of all kinds are found all the time that have lain untouched and undisturbed for centuries. Sometimes only one coin is uncovered, others a whole hoard of gold or silver is found just waiting to be collected. Old and older, valuable and rare, here’s a list of the 9 Most INCREDIBLE Coin Discoveries Around the World! Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr 4. Buried in Bulgaria A hoard of coins was found buried underneath an old plum tree in Mezdra, Bulgaria in late August of 2017. After neighbors repeatedly complained about an unkempt, overgrown yard in the town, authorities began to try and tidy up a bit and ended up stumbling upon 200 ancient silver coins. It had been hypothesized for some time that the town might have been the location of an Imperial Roman settlement; however, no evidence had yet been found. The hoard is made up of denarii and antoniniani and is dated back to between the first and third centuries CE. Many of the coins are from Syria and show signs that they were being used in circulation, others hold portraits of different emperor’s wives, and some appear unused, seemingly having been collected. A theory as to why the coins were buried consists of somebody being fearful that the coins would be taken by the Goths in third-century invasions, so they hid them from looting. Although around 200 coins were given to the Vrasta Regional Museum of History, it’s believed that the initial hoard may have consisted of roughly 1,000 and the museum has asked for the rest of the silver to be turned in. Yeah, uh, good luck with that. 3. Chelmsford Coins A treasure hunter with nearly 25 years worth of experience discovered a bunch of Anglo-Saxon gold coins in Chelmsford Essex, on November 24, 2017. Chris Kutler searched for four long days before making the find, hilariously believing the first coin he held was a wasp, so he threw it down. After a moment of calming himself down, he picked the gold back up and quickly realized what it was considering he had found other rare, Anglo-Saxon coins at the same site 18 years before. He returned to the area to conduct a new search after reading a report that there may be more of the gold hidden near his original find. Boy, did that report get it right or what? The gold dates back to 620-640 AD, during the Dark Ages, and is being assessed by the British Museum. It’s thought that the coins could be worth 10,000 British pounds, which is excellent news for Chris considering the Treasure Act of 1996 states that two or more coins containing 10% gold or higher that are at least 300-years-old entitle the finder and landowner to a 50/50 split of the treasure. We’re going to get our treasure hunting on. 2. Crazy Lucky Caretaker A caretaker at the Warkworth Church of England Primary School asked for permission to metal detect on the playground of the school, and when he was granted permission, he found something incredible. When his metal detector began beeping, he dug down and stumbled on a cache of 128 Medieval-era silver coins. The haul dates back to the 15th and early 16th centuries, and consists of groat and half-groat coins from the time of King Edward IV and King Henry VII, and nine coins from the 1460’s tied to Charles the Bold. They’ve been valued at nearly 11,000 British pounds, and 66 coins were sent to auction in September and were sold, but the sum at which they were purchased was not revealed. It’s thought possible that the owner of the coins may have felt that his savings were in danger amidst turbulent times during the Scottish incursions and buried them, but for an unknown reason never retrieved them. Lucky for the caretaker at the school and history, but not for the poor soul who forgot where he buried his money. 1. Coin Numero Uno Coin experts believe that they have identified the first-ever coin minted in the United States. A senior researcher for the coin and collectible firm Kagin’s, David McCarthy spotted it in an auction catalog in 2013, and after extensive research, he decided that his company had to have it. He put down a bid of $1.18 million to have it and won. He’s since meticulously studied the coin and gone through many a paper written by the Founding Fathers and is now 99.9% sure that the coin is, in fact, the first coin made in the United States. The value isn’t yet known, but McCarthy drew a comparison to a 1794 silver dollar that sold for $10 million in 2013. If the coin is the first coin minted in the US and it was held in the hands of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, it would likely sell for much, much more. Can you imagine owning the first coin minted in the US? It would make everything else in your piggy bank seem kinda useless.

10 ounces of Mixed 72% Silver World Coins

10:22
I went into this video blind as to what coins I had received. I paid about 26% over spot price for these coins, however they did provide an additional ounce of coins so I did a bit better on pricing. Overall I was very pleased with this purchase and may buy again. Look for a similar video but with 83.5% silver coins next month! In the video I attest that I purchased 10 ounces and they shipped 11. Turns out I purchased 10 troy ounces which is almost equal to 11 ounces. I got a better deal than I thought I had (I paid 9.5% over spot).
