1972 Plymouth Duster 340 - Gateway Classic Cars St. Louis - #6617

06:52
#6617 Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to offer a very special 1972 Plymouth Duster 340. This Duster 340 was frame off restored by an employee of "Year One". Needless to say, he had access to all the parts needed to complete a high quality restoration. The car was so nicely done that it sat on display in the Year One showroom in Atlanta Georgia. It even made the cover of the 2004 Year One parts catalogue. This car in rare HB1 Blue Sky is sporting its original 340 CID V8 under the hood as well as its original 727 Automatic transmission. With a four barrel carburetor and dual exhaust, this little A body will really scoot. This one is very nicely optioned with power disc brakes, power steering and fully functional factory Air Conditioning. In addition, the car comes with a lot of the little options you might first overlook: wood grain interior, sport steering wheel, side mirrors, turn signal indicators, AM/FM radio, interior lighting, bucket seats and center console. The car is believed to have just over 80,000 original miles, and has only covered about 6,500 miles since being fully restored. The car is very well documented including photos taken before restoration, photos of the engine rebuild, and plenty of invoices. Also included is the car's Chrysler registry information and Galen Govier report. The original broadcast sheet, sales brochure, owner's manual, and a reproduction window sticker set are all included as well. With all the documentation, this numbers matching car is certainly investor grade. This Mopar could certainly be shown, but really is begging to be driven. The car goes down the road beautifully and really turns some heads. Located in our St. Louis Showroom, this 1972 Plymouth Duster 340 can be seen including 50+ HD pictures and video at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. 15 Human Body Parts That Will Disappear One Day

12:04
15 Useless Body Parts That We Don't Really Need. We can surprisingly live without these 15 body parts. If you ever thought that all people are built the same, think again. If you thought that all our body parts are vitally important, you were not right again. In the first chapter of The Descent of Man, Charles Darwin identified roughly a dozen body parts that he gleefully described as "useless, or nearly useless." Darwin's catalog was far from complete: our bodies are littered with the parts we don't need. TIMESTAMPS Body hair 1:01 Paranasal sinuses 1:40 Extrinsic ear muscles 2:05 Wisdom teeth 2:45 Neck rib 3:39 Palmaris muscle 4:20 Male nipples 4:54 Arrector pili muscles 5:36 Appendix 6:39 Thirteenth rib 7:40 Coccyx 8:10 Third eyelid 8:57 Darwin's point 9:37 Subclavius muscle 10:20 Toes 10:48 SUMMARY - Apparently, most hair on the human body serves no function, so it is very likely to get extinct in the future! Besides brows perhaps, they keep sweat from our eyes. - And we have a lot: frontal, ethmoidal, sphenoidal, maxillary sinuses. In fact, no one knows why we still have these troublesome mucus-lined cavities! - Some animals, rabbits, and dogs, for example, can move their ears independently. How does it happen? Thanks to these exotic-sounding muscles. But you know what? People also have them! - As human jaws have become smaller in the process of evolution, the rest of people simply don’t have space in their mouths for these teeth! Back in the days when toothpaste didn’t exist, they were kind of backup grinders. - Have you never heard about neck ribs? It is a set of cervical ribs, possibly a leftover from the age of reptiles. They still appear in less than 1 percent of the population. - There is a long narrow muscle running from the elbow to the wrist. It is already missing in 11 percent of humans today, so it is a safe bet that with time it will disappear completely. - Nipples are present in both males and females. Men generally lack the necessary levels of prolactin to stimulate lactation and typically cannot produce milk. - Goosebumps are the indicator of them at work. We get them when we are frightened, amazed or cold. Apparently, we have lost most of the fur and acquired warm clothes. We don’t need any additional protection from freezing temperatures or the source to intimidate our rivals anymore. - Some research shows that an appendix can be, in fact, useful! It might store special bacteria good for those who suffer from diarrhea. - Our closest cousins, chimpanzees, and gorillas have an extra set of ribs. What about humans? Most of us have 12, except for 8% of adults - they have an extra one! - It's all that is left of the tail that most mammals still use for balance and communication. What is more, there have been 100 documented cases of babies who were born with a tail. What is the purpose of a tail-bone? There is none. - A third eyelid, you will ask, do we have it? Yes, we, humans, retain a tiny fold in the inner corner of the eye. It is what is left from a membrane birds, and mammals have had for protecting the eye and sweeping out debris, at the same time providing visibility. - Darwin's point is a small folded point of skin toward the top of each ear that is occasionally found in modern humans. It may be a remnant of a larger shape that helped to focus distant sounds. Nowadays only 10% of people have this “greeting from the past.” - Subclavius muscle is a small muscle which stretches under the shoulder from the first rib to the collarbone. It would be beneficial if humans were still walking on all fours. - Scientists have found out that humans used to walk and balance more in the middle of their feet, but now we have gradually transferred to balancing more toward the side of our big toe. Catalog Camaro Butt Lift and Tummy Tuck (Season 12 Episode 6 PREVIEW)

03:04
GearZNation members: Available Now: https://staceydavid.com/gearznation/ Airs on Velocity Channel April 7, 2018 Airs on MAVTV May 4, 2018 The Catalog Camaro is back in the garage and ready to go under the knife as Stacey shows how to do a butt lift and tummy tuck on a 2nd generation Camaro. What does that mean? Well, last season Stacey performed a nose job on this old ’81 Camaro to show how easy it is to get rid of the 80’s plastic front bumpers and put on the classic early 70’s split-bumper, rally sport front sheetmetal. This week he continues the makeover by losing the plastic rear bumper and wrap-around taillights and grafting in the early 70’s quarter panels, round taillights and chrome bumper. It’s more in depth than the front and definitely requires some skilled metal surgery, but Stacey shows you all the tricks on how to do it properly. So, sit back and enjoy the ride as Stacey details how to measure, cut, and weld your way to a much younger looking Camaro.

The Story Of Cougar 1: The First Mercury Cougar

13:33
A while back, we sat down with Jim Pinkerton, the owner of the very first production Mercury Cougar (1967 model year), a.k.a. Cougar 1. We hit the "record" button on our cameras and he let loose with an epic tale of how the car was first sold in Canada, its subsequent life there, and how it eventually got into his hands - an intriguing story! He also goes over some of the unique features of the car, and some of the restoration techniques used. It's a truly beautiful factory show car with more attention to detail than the 'average' Cougar. Special thanks to Jim Pinkerton for his time, and for providing most of the images you see in this video from his own collection of Cougar memorabilia. Dancing through Gunshots in Brazil's Favelas

17:27
Ballet and Bullets: Dancing Out of the Favela” was produced with support from the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting. “Na Ponta dos Pes” (On Tiptoes) is a ballet project in the Alemão favela complex in Rio de Janeiro, created by Tuany Nascimento – a 23-year-old dancer who represented Brazil at international events during a flourishing career that was abruptly cut short by a lack of resources. Rather than letting her head drop, the setback strengthened Tuany’s determination to help troubled communities through dance. Tuany started teaching classes in the Morro do Adeus favela, where she lives. It’s one of the roughest parts of Alemão, which is currently at the centre of a rolling feud between rival drug cartels and the military police. Many students in her group of girls, aged 4-15, come from families caught up in narco turf wars and afflicted by the chronic crisis of opportunity and urban poverty in the Favelas. With an average 20 incidents of weapons fired every day in Rio, last year saw more than 100 police deaths – as well as hundreds more civilians, many of whom are caught in the crossfire of confrontations in their local areas. Intensifying violence in Alemão heightens Tuany’s motivation to find support for the construction of a community centre, which will give her girls a safe space to dance and study. After the challenges of her own career, Tuany knows her students can’t all become pro ballerinas – but the discipline she teaches will transcend the act of learning to dance, setting them up with a better chance to escape the bitter cycle of hardship which swallows up so many young lives in Brazil. During one of her lessons in a basketball court in the centre of the Morro do Adeus favela a shootout between rival gangs breaks out with innocent civilians caught in the crossfire. Tuany is forced to put the ballet school on hold due to escalating violence and until they can raise money for the new community centre so they can have a safe space to practice. Tandy (1889-1966). During their visit, these ambitious young fellows decided to pool their resources and go into business together. Two years later (1921) and half a continent away, two London-born Bostonian brothers, Theodore and Milton Deutschmann, opened a one-store retail and mail-order operation in the heart of downtown Boston. These young immigrant brothers wanted to provide amateur and ham radio equipment to the public; much of it was leftover Army gear. To pursue their interests, the brothers opened a retail store (a block from the site of the Boston Massacre). William Halligan, one of Deutschmann's first employees and later the founder of Hallicrafters, suggested the name, “Radio Shack”. They chose the name, "Radio Shack," which was a term for the room that housed a ship's radio equipment. Beginning in 1921, Radio Shack would grow to a handful of stores clustered in the Northeast, and become a leading electronics mail-order distributor to hobbyists. This is how it would remain until the company and a young Texan named Charles Tandy crossed paths four decades later. Meanwhile, the Hinckley-Tandy Leather Company grew modestly through the years. Although the company survived the Great Depression, it was nearly crippled when World War II began in 1941. Mr. Tandy's oldest son, Charles D. Tandy (1918-1978), while serving in the Navy during the war, observed how leathercraft was used as a therapeutic tool for patients in military hospitals and by servicemen in recreation and rehabilitation centers. He told his father that leathercraft was the way to steer the company during the war years – and to prepare for what he believed would be a healthy, new, post-war hobby market. In 1938, Radio Shack issued its first catalog when it entered the high-fidelity music equipment market. In 1947, it opened the nation's first audio showroom; providing amplifiers, speakers, turntables, phonograph cartridges, and the like. In 1954, Radio Shack began to sell their private-label products under the brand name Realistic®. By the 1960s, Radio Shack had expanded to become a leading distributor of electronic parts and products around the world. In 1963, Charles Tandy, bought the company for the equivalent of $300,000 cash. The '70s proved to be a decade of incredible growth for Radio Shack. The incredibly popular citizen-band (CB) radios, were one of its top selling items. Following the highly successful citizen-band (CB) radios in 1977, Radio Shack introduced the first mass-produced personal computer: the TRS-80® microcomputer - Only $599.95. This computer was the creation of a 24-year-old engineer named Steve Leininger. In contrast to build-it-yourself units available at the time, the TRS-80 was fully wired and tested. Although a primitive machine by today's standards, it was a technological and price breakthrough, and overwhelming customer demand caused a production backlog that lasted for months. Over 200,000 TRS-80 Model I computers were sold from 1977 to 1981. The '80s continued to make Radio Shack the "biggest name in little computers". Radio Shack offered the first affordably priced stereo receiver with digital technology, the first mobile/portable cellular telephone and the first high-performance satellite TV system that could be installed by the do-it-yourselfer. The '90s brought an explosion in personal communications. The company invented the Family Radio Service (FRS), which uses license-free 2-way personal radios. RadioShack sold more wireless phones than any other retailer. ...to read more about the history of RadioShack Corporation, visit www.RadioShackCatalogs.com

Takanakuy: Fistfighting in the Andes

19:42
Once a year around Christmas in the Peruvian Andes, the whole town gets together to dance, drink and beat the hell out of each other. Christmas festivities vary widely around the world, and are widely a steaming crock of boring shit. Ooh, Swedish girls wear a crown of candles the night before Chistmas? Please tell me more about this scintillating national cust-snzzzZZZZZZZZZ. In the Peruvian Andes, folks know how to celebrate the season right. What they do is, they put on a colorful ski-mask, dress up like Mad Max mountain bikers, tie a dead eagle to their heads, and get drunk and dance for about a week straight. Then, come Christmas morning, they all gather together in the middle of town and beat the baby bejesus out of each other. Now we're talking, right? The festival is called Takanakuy and its equal parts sporting event, indigenous display of hypermasculine defiance in the face of all the lilywhite metropolitan sissies in Lima, and makeshift judicial system. The province of Chumbivilcas, where Takanakuy takes place, has about three cops total and is a stomach-wrecking 10-hour drive through the mountains to the nearest courthouse. So if you've got a beef with a neighbor or someone's taken your girl or sheep, you don't go crying about it to some judge. You bury it away until Christmas, then get yourself all beered up and exact some Andean justice with your fists and feet. Guys, girls, little kids, old drunk men in high-waisted pants; everybody in town fights at Takanakuy. This year we decided to forego the annual family snoozefest and head into the mountains of Peru to test our mettle against the some of the hardiest people from one of the harshest environments in the Americas. We hope you like it, since it broke our mothers' hearts. Fresh restoration; truck reportedly driven 600 miles since being restored Final year for the two-piece windshield and rectangular taillights 216 CID inline six-cylinder engine Three-speed manual transmission with synchromesh Mariner Blue exterior (code 417) with yellow pinstriping Wood bed siderails and new wooden bed floor Wide whitewall tires Driver’s side spotlight and cab sunvisor Documentation includes original Chevrolet Truck Shop Manual and a copy of Jim Carter Antique Truck Parts catalog from Fall 1995 Those looking for postwar pickups should stop by MotoeXotica Classic Cars; we are proud to present this 1953 Chevrolet 3100 Half-ton “Light Delivery” model. The title on this tidy truck shows the same loving owner since 1987, 31 years! Finished in Mariner Blue with a yellow pinstripe, this truck’s paint and trim are in very good order but not show quality, with only the slightest blemishes visible on close examination. The truck’s split windshield and other glass panels are clear and intact. Its lights, including the driver’s side spotlight, look great and the truck’s bodywork is straight and solid. The bumpers are shiny and fit well to the body and there’s even an external sunvisor for driver and passenger. The cargo bed has a newer wooden floor and corresponding bed siderails. This 3100 rolls bias-ply wide whitewalls, size 6.70-15 at all four corners, each one surrounding a steel wheel with a full moon factory wheel cover. Under the hood is a 216 CID straight six-cylinder engine mated to a three-speed manual transmission with synchromesh. Inside, the bench seat is in great shape. The headliner and three-spoke steering wheel with rim cover are both in satisfactory condition. The instrument panel and inner door panels are in good order, as is the shift lever. Completing the truck’s interior is a factory AM radio. Advance-Design was a truck series by Chevrolet, its first major redesign after WWII. It was billed as a larger, stronger, and sleeker design in comparison to the earlier AK Series. First available on Saturday June 28, 1947, these trucks were sold with various minor changes over the years until March 25, 1955, when the Task Force Series trucks replaced the aging Advance-Design model. The same basic design family was used for all of its trucks including the Suburban, panel trucks, canopy express and cab overs. The cab overs used the same basic cab configuration and similar grille but used a shorter and taller hood and different fenders. The unique Cab Over fenders and hood required a custom cowl area which makes the Cab Over Engine cabs and normal truck cabs incompatible with one another while all truck cabs of all weights interchange. From 1947 until 1955, Chevrolet trucks were number one in sales in the United States, with rebranded versions sold at GMC locations. While General Motors used this front-end sheet metal, and to a slightly lesser extent the cab, on all of its trucks except for the Cab Overs, there are three main sizes of this truck: the half-, three-quarter-, and full ton capacities in short and long wheelbase. Nineteen fifty-three was the last year for the 216 CID inline-six. Hood side emblems now only read 3100, 3600, 3800, 4400, or 6400 in large print. New serial number codes: H ½ ton, J ¾ ton and L 1 ton. Competition to this Chevrolet truck in 1953 included Dodge’s B-series half-ton trucks, Ford’s F-100 trucks and GMC’s New Design trucks. This truck is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 43,607 miles. Former owner reports truck has been driven about 600 miles since restored. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, mileage exempt title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!! VIN: 1BM4706 Please note truck is titled off engine number. http://www.facebook.com/stlclassiccars http://www.instagram.com/motoexotica https://www.twitter.com/motoexotica636

Discover Hyderabad | The Economist

Hyderabad, India's fourth biggest city, is fast becoming one of the most exciting visitor destinations in the country. Its booming tech scene is attracting global attention and transforming this ancient city into a cosmopolitan hotspot. Click here to subscribe to The Economist on YouTube: http://econ.trib.al/rWl91R7 Discover Colombo: https://youtu.be/4COeTrjB6hA Discover Buenos Aires: https://youtu.be/q0pMg6rvc0s Discover Miami: https://youtu.be/sCi4FBN-7dA Discover Oaska: https://youtu.be/cNIrkT3WB24 Discover London: https://youtu.be/mIEsgVd17v8 Once home to the richest man in the world and the center of the global diamond trade, Hyderabad is full of hidden gems - you just have to know where to find them. Three passionate locals are about to take you on a tour of their city, revealing the secret spots where you can experience the real Hyderabad. If you want to capture the vibrancy, colour and sounds of Hyderabad you’ll need to get up early just like the flower merchants of Gudimalkapur flower market. As flowers are an integral part of Indian life—this market attracts buyers and sellers from across the region. It's also a favourite spot for keen photographers. Saurabh has taken his love of photography one step further and now shares it with visitors by running photowalks. By joining Saurabh it's a chance to see this city and its people through a very different lens. So called ‘Cyberabad’ is the home to Hyderabad’s flourishing Tech and Startup community. The ambition is to create India’s answer to Silicon Valley—and it’s fast attracting a young cosmopolitan crowd. But when Srinivas has business visitors he doesn’t take them to the newest parts of town. He takes them to the oldest. The street markets of Charminar in the old city have been the beating heart of Hyderabad for four hundred years. This was the centre of the world's diamond and pearl industry during the time of the Nizam's who ruled over Hyderabad from 1724 to 1948. The diamond industry may have moved on, but the pearl trade is still alive and well giving the city its moniker "The City of Pearls", attracting buyers from around the world. Since arriving in Hyderabad 13 years ago Jonty decided to set up her own business taking people to the true heart of the city, and a place where most travelers never get to visit - the authentic Indian kitchen. Home dining is becoming very popular with travelers but here at Usha’s they don't just come to eat but to learn the secrets and skills of Hyderabadi home cooking. This is no five-star restaurant but it offers visitors an even rarer experience - the opportunity to really see how the locals do it. The Falaknuma Palace Hotel used to be the royal guest house for the richest man in the world Osman Ali Khan, the last Nizam ruler. For those in the know, tea here comes with a personal tour with the resident historian. At the top of Moala Ali Hill is a 16th century dargah - a Muslim shrine. The dargahs reputed healing properties turned it into a pilgrimage site and countless devotees climb the 500 steps to the top. But praying in Hyderabad isn’t all about quiet contemplation — it’s a chance to party too. And with over 50 religious festivals in the calendar year there’s always an opportunity to get involved. Every neighbourhood will hold its own festivities. And for Jonty, it’s the best way to immerse visitors in the Hyderabad street scene. It may seem overwhelming but If you want to properly appreciate these festivals, there’s only one thing for it - leap right in. Some of the most popular festivals last for up to eleven days. ___________________ Passport is an original travel series for the intellectually and culturally curious, exploring some of the most exciting city destinations in the world. 1938 Allied Radio - Everything in Radio Catalog

To view the complete ALLIED RADIO & ELECTRONICS catalog archive, go to: www.AlliedCatalogs.com To view the complete Radio Shack CATALOG archive, go to: www.RadioShackCatalogs.com ** A BRIEF HISTORY OF ALLIED RADIO & ELECTRONICS ** In 1928, Allied Radio (now known as Allied Electronics) was started in Chicago, IL. In 1932, Allied was selling electronic parts by catalog. Storefront sales operations were established with the goal of selling to amateur radio operators and electronics experimenters. The company built a growing business in marketing radio parts and kits to home hobbyists, and was one of the first to sell electronics through a catalog. In addition, Allied opened storefront distribution outlets to reach more amateur ham radio operators and experimenters. During this time, Allied moved to 833 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago, IL. From 1941-45, having survived the depression, Allied focused on the war effort, primarily servicing government contracts and high-priority industrial orders. During WWII, Allied devoted itself to the war effort by handling government contracts and high-priority industrial needs. This was Allied's first real experience in industrial electronics. After the war, Allied continued to sell to the consumer and industrial markets. From 1946-60, the electronics industry exploded as new developments in electronics were adopted on a widespread basis in commerce and industry. Innovations such as television, industrial automation, space technology and defense accelerated the need for electronics. Consumer demand also grew as radio sets and components not available during the war proliferated. Allied's main competitors were Radio Shack, Lafayette Radio, Olson Electronics, Newark Electronics, Burstein-Applebee Co., and local independent dealers (such as WinterRadio). Allied's primary house brands included "Allied", "Knight", and "Knight-Kit". In 1953, Allied Radio Corporation moves into its new, 2 million dollar building at 100 N. Western Ave, Chicago, IL. This "ultra-modern" facility was designed by experts to give their customers the best service in the industry. In 1961, Allied Radio Corporation established Allied Electronics Corporation as a wholly owned subsidiary to assume industrial sales of its small electronic components, relays, semi-conductors and the like which accounted for more than one-third of Allied's $40 million annual sales. In 1962, the first industrial catalog for Allied Electronics, a subsidiary of Allied Radio, was released. The company continued to serve both amateur and professional ham radio operators as one of the few places to locate that "hard to get" piece of radio equipment. In 1970, Allied moved its headquarters from Chicago, Illinois to Fort Worth, Texas because 1970 marked the year when Radio Shack's parent company, the Tandy Corporation (now Radio Shack Corporation) , purchased Allied Electronics and Allied Radio. In 1970, Tandy introduced combined catalogs of Allied Radio Shack stereo equipment, computers, phones, CB radios, scanners, speakers, antennas, P.A. systems, walkie-talkies, radios, electronic components, test equipment, electronic kits, & more. In 1972, the catalog is now a treasure trove for persons tracking down old components when trying to restore old professional and industrial equipment. Essex/Stancor, UTC, Switchcraft, Dialco, Arrow-Hart, Sprague, Fairchild, Robertshaw, Centralab, Belden, Sigma, Magnecraft, C. P. Clare, Amphenol, Shure, Electro-Voice, Sola, Simpson, Superior Electric, Hurst, RCA, Elmenco, ADC, H. H. Smith, are only some of the brand names represented. Interspersed with the major pro names were Micronta, Realistic, and other Radio Shack "consumer level" house brands. In 1973, due directly to federal court action, Tandy was ordered to divest itself of Allied Radio. In 1995, Allied is the first electronics distribution company to come out with a CD-ROM catalog and quickly followed-up by entering the e-commerce arena with the launch of a web site. Allied's main competitors were Radio Shack, Newark Electronics, Digi-Key, Jameco, and Mouser Electronics. Today, Allied Electronics is a small order, high service level distributor of electronic components and electromechanical products with over 50 sales offices across the United States and in Canada.

The hidden oil patterns on bowling lanes

07:41
Every bowling lane has a hidden oil pattern. In this episode of Vox Almanac, Phil Edwards finds out what that means. Follow Phil Edwards and Vox Almanac on Facebook for more: https://www.facebook.com/philedwardsinc1/ Every lane has a pattern. In this episode of Vox Almanac, Phil Edwards explores how they change the game. Bowling isn’t just about a great ball and good form — if you want to understand the sport, you have to understand the lane. Every bowling lane, including the one in your neighborhood alley, is coated with an oil pattern to protect the wood. But these patterns aren’t just for protection — the way in which oil is applied to the lane can affect the speed and direction of your ball. These patterns are so important that recreational bowlers and professional bowlers bowl on vastly different patterns — the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) even classifies the patterns it uses in tournaments. Phil Edwards met with professional bowler Parker Bohn III at his childhood bowling alley, Howell Lanes in Howell, New Jersey. He guided Phli through the complex strategy a pro bowler uses when encountering different oil patterns. Not only do they have to assess which pattern is in use, but they also have to judge how that pattern changes as the oil shifts and slides over the day. Knowing how to play a specific lane can be the difference between a title and second place. But these patterns aren’t just for the pros — they’re relevant to recreational bowlers as well. Watch the video to see how you can use these patterns to step up your game. VERSACE’S SUSTAINABLE STYLE IN MIAMI

01:02
The creative energy of Versace is translated into a new sustainable concept The mixology between light and shadow, substance and emptiness, flow and focus, infuse an unexpected energy in the new Versace Bal Harbour boutique. The complexity and diversity of the Versace creations are captured by the various internal elements: the visually striking floor and ceiling. In the floating-effect brass ceiling, radiating beams of rays are held delicately by a forest of bronze strings. The floor mosaic is a mix of modernity and tradition: a cutting-edge pattern assembled by hand by Italian artisans. The minimalism of the composition contrasts with the rhythm of the space. A constant dialogue is created between the viewer and the creations, original encounters that stimulate the imagination and the curiosity of the customers. The new concept was designed by renowned architect Gwenael Nicolas with the highest sustainability standards in mind – from the choice of materials to the flexibility and management of the space – reaching the latest LEED Gold certification level for Retail Interior Design and Construction, a globally recognized certification program developed by the U.S. Green Building Council. “There’s no bigger luxury than our future. The new Versace concept is a commitment towards Versace’s sustainable legacy.” -Donatella Versace A holistic approach has been applied to the selection of materials with the highest environmental and transparency standards for the entire life of all parts of the store. Materials in both the structure and its interiors have undertaken an environmental product declaration: an extra step in transparency guaranteeing responsible sourcing and end-of-life processes. The construction included recycled, recyclable, and responsible materials – including glass in the mosaic, FSC-certified wood in the structure, and recomposed marble in certain decorative elements to minimize extraction of raw materials from the earth – a sustainable commitment in every detail. Much of the impact of a store is in its daily operations, which at Bal Harbour have been studied with attention to people and environment. Dimmable LED lights with central control have been installed to ensure efficient use of energy over the course of the day. Climate control equipment was chosen for energy efficiency. Internal air quality is studied to provide a positive impact for wellbeing on people working and shopping in the space. With an eye to managing climate impact, Versace has planned a 5-year offset program to compensate the energy and water use in the store. Thanks to renewable energy certificates, the store will offset all electricity use through renewable energy production, and water usage through the restoration of natural watersheds. Finally, the entire concept has been designed with flexibility and the future in mind. For example, the floor and ceiling design allows for adjustable lighting without needing to replace or discard elements, extending the usable life of the space for years to come. The renovated boutique is a pure expression of not only the unmistakable DNA of Versace, but also of its commitment to the environment and vision for the future. www.versace.com

Willys Overland Jeepster Parts Horde

02:20
Willys Overland Jeepster Parts Horde. The Jeepster was an automobile originally produced by Willys-Overland Motors from 1948 to 1950. It was the last phaeton produced by a major automaker. The Jeepster name was revived in 1966 on a new model, the C-101 Jeepster Commando. American Motors (AMC), Willys-Overland's successor, removed Jeepster from the name for 1972, ending production after 1973. After World War II, Jeep trademark owner, Willys, believed that the market for the military-type Jeep would be limited to farmers and foresters, therefore they began producing the "CJ" (or Civilian Jeep) to fill this growing segment. Willys began producing the Jeep Wagon and the Panel Utility in 1946, and the Jeep Truck in 1947. Seeing a gap in their product lineup, Willys developed the Jeepster to crossover from their "utilitarian" trucks to the passenger automobile market. Willys-Overland lacked the machinery to form deep-drawn fenders or complicated shapes, so the vehicle had to use a simple and slab-sided design. Industrial designer Brooks Stevens styled a line of postwar vehicles for Willys using a common platform that included the Jeep pickup and station wagon, as well as a sporty two-door open car that he envisioned as a sports car for veterans of World War II. The Willys-Overland Jeepster ("VJ" internally) was introduced in April 1948, and produced through 1950. Some leftover models were sold under the 1951 model year. 1948 1948 Willys Jeepster. The basic 1948 Jeepster included numerous deluxe features and interior fittings in addition to a high level of standard equipment that cost extra on other automobiles. These included, among many others, whitewall tires, hubcaps with bright trim rings, sun visors, deluxe steering wheel, wind wings, locking glovebox, cigar lighter, as well a continental tire with a fabric cover. The Jeepster had a 4-cylinder engine and plastic side curtains, but its $1,765 price was about the same as a Ford Super DeLuxe club convertible with roll-down windows, as well as fancier styling and a V8 engine The car was only offered with rear-wheel drive, thus limiting its appeal with other Jeep customers. Its distinctive boxy styling and performance were praised by automotive journalists. However, the Jeepster did not catch on with the intended market segment. Sales were also limited by sparse advertising and an insufficient dealer network. The VJ-2 Jeepster was powered by the 134.2 cu in (2.2 L) straight-4 "Go Devil" engine, which gave 63 hp (47 kW; 64 PS) through a 3-speed manual transmission with standard overdrive. The Planadyne independent front suspension, based on a single transverse leaf spring, was from the Willys Station Wagon, as were the entire drivetrain, front end, rear suspension, steering, and four-wheel drum brakes. The flat-topped rear fenders were taken from the Jeep truck line. 1949 The 1949 Jeepster began production with a one-model/one-engine offering. The price was lowered to $1,495, with some previously standard features returning as extra-cost options. Toward the middle of the year, an additional model was introduced, the VJ3-6, powered by a new six-cylinder engine. 1950 The VJ-3 Jeepster had very little standard equipment. This time there were two engines offered, changing the Jeepster's designations to VJ-3 4-63 for the four-cylinder and VJ-3 6-63 for the Lightning-equipped six-cylinder. The 1950 model year saw the first styling revisions that included a new instrument panel and a redesigned front end featuring a V-shaped grille with horizontal chrome trim. New engines and designations dependent on what part of the year it was. Early 1950s four-cylinder Jeepsters were VJ-3 463, and the straight-six Jeepsters were VJ-3 663. The later-year Jeepsters were VJ-473 and VJ-673, respectively.

How To Study and Prepare For the MCAT | Medical School Preparation

06:30
Getting a good MCAT score is essential for getting into medical school. In this video, I talk about how to prepare and study for the MCAT. MCAT is short for Medical College Admission Test (MCAT). It is the standardized exam required for admission for medical schools in the US. It is important because it’s been shown to be highly predictive of success in medical school courses and on Step exams. So the MCAT contains 4 sections: Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills (CARS) Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior PREPARATION is Broken down into 3 parts: College Classes, Content Review, Exam Practice and Strategies. College Classes, Before taking the MCAT you should consider taking these seven courses: One year of introductory biology One year of general chemistry One year of organic chemistry One year of physics One semester of biochemistry One semester of introductory psychology One semester of introductory sociology Personally I also recommend: Anatomy and Physiology, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Genetics, Immunology, Brain and Behavior/Physiological Psych would all be helpful. Why? Because it helped me master the But remember that your prereqs are ALL YOU NEED to obtain a good score. Once you have taken the courses above, 2. Content Review Ideally you want do a content review 3-4 months before the exam. But it really depends on the person and how much time you have to study per day. 3-4 months is perfect time because it: gives you enough time to study without burning out and, if you study less than 3-4 months, you may end up being under-prepared. Again, this really depends on the person. Some people can get away with barely preparing while others need a lot more time to get ready. In the end, it really depends on how you study. When you’re going into content review mode there are several things to consider: how much time you have until your exam date, how much money you have to spend, that is: are you gonna need extra discipline and motivation? if so review classes like Kaplan more ExamKrackers are an option. Personally: I did a review class--ThinkMCAT, it was really good. The instructor was really good in not necessary, but you have to be really disciplined and motivated and stick to a strict schedule. 3. Exam Practice and Strategies: It’s worth noting that the MCAT is 7.5 HOURS LONG! Of that 7.5 hours: A little over 6 hours is used for the taking the exam, two 10 minute breaks 30 minute lunch break My suggestions for this sections are: Understand and learn the concepts, Practice, practice, practice! The MCAT is a CBT, so you guys need to practice and getting used to taking taking notes on the computer. For me, this was hard because I was so used to taking paper exams. Take as MANY full lengths exams as you can! Make sure they are timed so you can get used to the pressure. By the time you take the real exam, you would have taken so many tests that it’s second nature to you. ______________________________________________ Check out the rest of the videos that are part of this series: What's in my med school backpack: https://youtu.be/bAh4MxPb0iA FAQ about how to get into medical school: https://youtu.be/2PehxHQLBM4 What's in my white coat: https://youtu.be/KROFnLSDc7Y How a typical medical school schedule looks like: https://youtu.be/da917hZV-wo Useful Apps I use in Medical School: https://youtu.be/S-e3uA-SdG0 Typical Weekly Schedule of a Med School Student: https://youtu.be/da917hZV-wo Study Tips for Medical School and College: https://youtu.be/MUGnNH9AEX0 A Typical Day in Medical School: https://youtu.be/RgftpK99w2I How to Prepare and Study for the MCAT: https://youtu.be/iK8FK3o5lA0 Study Schedule of a Medical School Student: https://youtu.be/H9XFLqJ0Xb8 First Year vs Second Year of Medical School: https://youtu.be/T4cT-jZHCzY Med School Essentials Giveaway!: https://youtu.be/Vmt9G5zUDxU -------------------------------------------------------------- Also find and follow us on Instagram and Twitter at: https://twitter.com/thestrivetofit https://instagram.com/thestrivetofit Snapchat: TheStriveToFit Check out our entire video catalog: http://goo.gl/BnyBsW Mailing Address: Jamie L.
