Job interview questions - answer the job interview question about your style of work
http://www.prepareforyourinterview.com. Job interview questions - answer the job interview question about your style of work. http://youtu.be/n-R7T1T6nd0 Job interview questions where you are asked to "describe your style of work" are designed to get a sense of what you are like to work with. The Hiring Managers only have a limited amount of time in the job interview to get a feel for what you have to offer and the type of employee you are. These types of job interview questions give the interviewer a preview of what you are actually like once they hire you for the job. The key here is to understand what they are looking for and match what you have to offer to meet their expectations. Here are a couple of tips you can use to answer this question and stand out as the best candidate for the job: Tip #1 - Make sure you have analyzed the job description in detail and you have a good understanding of the type of environment you will be working in if you got the job. This will allow you to describe your "work style" in a way that is a fit with their work environment. Tip #2 - Once you understand what type of working environment they offer, make a list of what you are looking for in your ideal job. Then match up your list with their requirements and see where there is a fit. These are the key characteristics you want to focus on in the job interview. For example, if it's a fast-paced environment with little supervision, you would describe your style of work as "I really enjoy autonomy in my job and the flexibility to work with minimal supervision...". This answer will only work for you if it is a match with the job description, so be sure to have a good understanding of the work environment first. Tip #3 - Finally, try to have one example ready to describe your style of work. For example, if you say you work well with a team, provide an example from one of your previous jobs where you worked in a team and excelled. Tell a story of a time that demonstrates how well you work in a team to meet company goals. Job interview questions give you the chance to not only show what you can do for the employer but also give them a sense of who you are as a person and an employee. You must prepare your answers strategically so you position yourself as the perfect match for the job. By the way, do you want to learn more Job Interview strategies to get hired faster? How to write a Book New Work Style
It's finally happening! We started to write THE book. Why a book? Why not! And what is "new" about that process? It's fun and this is what we learned so far. (and 30 More Facts You Won't Believe!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSb_CK_3RvM 10 People Who Got Revenge On Cheaters https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbcpuiaceiU Description: Work – most of us will have to do it and some of you are even doing it right now while you watch this video. We won’t tell. Getting a job and going to work is just one of those things that you do when you ‘grow up.’ It’s the main reason we go to school for so long and without it, we can’t buy that house, upgrade that car or invest and save for retirement. For these reasons, and others, many people often work jobs they don’t care about or even really hate. In these instances it’s all about waiting for a break or just collecting that paycheck and the benefits with it. Sometimes, though, it can just reach a point where you say enough is enough. The end result? It’s time to quit that job and move on. Depending on how you look at it, quitting a job can be either nerve-wracking or incredibly fun. On the one hand, you need to confront management and tell it as it is. On the other, you’re in the position of power for once and it’s your chance to have your say without fear of repercussions. After all, what are they going to do? Fire you? The people in these following examples provide a variety of rather epic ways to quit a job. Not all of them hated their jobs but all of them decided it was time to move on. From on-air statements to editorial pieces in popular newspapers to marching bands, these people quit in a way that won’t be forgotten by their bosses and coworkers any time soon. Have you heard of this before? This is an important thing to think about. What are your ethics? Do you maintain your work ethics? If not, why do they change? And if they do change, is it justified? Watch yourself and don't fall into the trap of being negative at work...of doing less than your best. Work style. One of the things I've learned from the many mentors I've had is this: self-motivation. Proactive. It's important that you find a way to motivate yourself. If you wait for other people to tell you what to do all the time, it's going to be difficult to rise to the top. Be proactive. What does that mean? It means take the initiative. Make things happen on your own. Don't wait for someone else to tell you what to do. Do more than asked, and do it with a positive attitude. Say, "Hey, it was my pleasure. What's next?" That's the employee we want to have in our companies. That's the employee we want to promote. That's the employee that becomes the entrepreneur -- the one who makes things happen on their own. So if I could leave with a final note that I want you to think about, I want you to think about this. Be proactive. Make it happen yourself, do more than asked, and do it with a positive attitude. That's something I've learned. All I ask for you to think about it and think about how you might be able to do that in your own life if you're not doing it already.

How to succeed in your JOB INTERVIEW: Behavioral Questions
Think about your last job interview. What did you do to prepare for it, and how did it go? Job interviews are difficult whether you are an English learner or a native speaker. If you want to get the job, you need to prepare for the job interview. In many English-speaking countries, interviews often include behavioral questions. In this lesson, I will teach you about behavioral interview questions and how to answer them. This video also has a listening practice portion to train you to recognize these questions, as well as tips on how to prepare for them. Try our quiz at the end to practice what you have learned, nail that interview, and get that job! Then work like a dog for the rest of your life :) Take the quiz: https://www.engvid.com/job-interview-behavioral-questions/ TRANSCRIPT Hello. My name is Emma, and in today's video I am going to teach you how to do really well on your interview. So, if you're looking for a job and you have an interview coming up, I'm going to talk to you about a type of question you might hear during your interview. I'm going to tell you how to recognize this type of question, and how to answer this type of question, along with many tips that can help you. Okay? So if you're about to do an interview, don't stress out - we can do it. All right, so let's look at the types of questions we're going to talk about today. Today we're talking about behavioural interview questions. Okay? So let's look at some examples to understand what I mean by "behavioural interview questions". Okay, so we have this question: "Tell me about a time when you worked effectively under pressure." So take a moment to think about that question. "Give an example of how you worked on a team.", "Describe a time when you had to deal with a very upset customer.", "Have you ever made a mistake? How did you handle it?" Okay, so when we're talking about behavioural questions, it's important to think about: What is being asked of you? Okay? So, the main thing with these types of questions is this word here: "Give an example". Behavioural questions... behavioural interview questions require that you give an example of how you have dealt with or handled a situation. So, my next question to you is: Do you think we're talking about an example of the past, something that's happened; the present; or the future, something that could happen? So look at these questions. Are we talking about a past example, a present example, or a future example? If you said: "Past example", you are correct. When we talk about behavioural interview questions, what the interviewer is asking is they want you to give a past example. Okay? Something you have done in the past. How can you recognize these types of questions? Because there are many different interview types of questions, these are just one type, so how do you know if it's behavioural interview question? That's a very good question. One way to know is by looking for key words. Okay? So, a lot of the times behavioural questions start off with some sort of hint or clue. "Tell me about a time" is an example. Okay? "Tell me about a time when you worked effectively under pressure.", "Tell me about a time when you disagreed with your boss.", "Tell me about a time when you had problems with your co-workers." Okay? So lot of the times you will hear: "Tell me about" or "Tell me about a time", and that's a signal: Okay, this is probably a behavioural interview question. You might have this as a starter to the question, they might ask you: "Give me an example of how you worked on a team." or "Give me an example of a time when you showed leadership." Okay? So those would both be behavioural questions. Again: "Describe a time". A lot of the times you'll hear the word: "a time" or "an example". So this is another common phrase you will hear with behavioural interview questions. You might also have a question like this: "Have you ever made a mistake?", "Have you ever had difficulties working with somebody?", "Have you ever had a conflict with a customer?", "How did you handle it? What did you do?" So these types of questions, they don't have the same key words as the ones above, but usually they're written or they're said with the present perfect tense, and usually you'll hear a second follow-up question: "How did you handle it?" Okay? So, key word here: "did". If you hear the past tense in the question, then they probably want you to answer the question using a past example. Okay? So, this might be a little bit confusing, you might be a bit worried, you know: "Oh, these questions seem really hard." Well, the very first step is recognizing these questions, so that's what we're going to do right now. We are going to practice recognizing behavioural interview questions. Okay, so now we are going to practice identifying behavioural interview questions. Okay? […]
Choosing or Changing Your Career - Step 1: Understand Your Work Style
Deciding on the right career path isn’t easy. There’s nothing that can—or should—simply give you the answer. It is an important decision, and one that you must make for yourself. However, there are tools that can help you think through your options. The CareerClover Interest Fit Report helps to clarify your interests and work style preferences, using your responses to the 16PF® Questionnaire. This simple guide will walk you through how to get the most out of your report. Understanding your work style is the first critical step toward helping you to select a career that draws on your personal strengths. For example, some of us naturally have a desire to lead and influence others, whilst others find they are more capable and confident as followers. Some of us prefer to work collaboratively in teams whereas others prefer to work alone. Let’s take a look at an example: •My work style results suggest I would prefer working by myself, this makes sense: I feel I work best independently rather than in groups as I am self-reliant and like to make my own decisions. It also suggests I am suited to flexible work settings, as I find routine and structure quite restrictive and slightly boring. I also value autonomy to make my own decisions as I am rather independent-minded. •So, how can I apply this to my career exploration? When evaluating my career options, I need to think about the extent to which each option fulfils my needs in these areas. For example, a corporate role where I have to sit at a desk for defined hours every day would probably make me feel me frustrated, de-motivated and unproductive. Equally, a role that requires me to work in teams all of the time, or a role with a boss that manages my schedule too tightly would make me unhappy. This section is helping me clarify my preferred work style, and suggests that I should consider careers and work environments that allows for flexibility and autonomy where I will feel happy and fulfilled. After you have explored the work style section of your Interest Fit Report, the next step is to evaluate your prospective careers. For Step 2 in this guide, go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_TsZ6Csmnc I hope you get the most out of your Interest Fit Report, for further information you can visit the CareerClover resources page at https://www.careerclover.com/Career-Resources/what-job-suits-results We would also love to answer any questions that you have about how to get the most from your report. Just email us at [email protected] and we will be happy to respond!

Common Interview Questions & Answers: Do you prefer to work alone or in a team?
During your interview, you might receive a question about your preferred work style. When faced with questions like, "Would you rather work independently or as part of a team?," it is important you answer the question honestly and tactfully. Even if you strongly prefer one over the other, you should be careful to emphasize that you find value in both work styles. Ideally, you will make it clear to the interviewer that you are ready and capable of taking on independent projects, but you should also emphasize the importance of collaborating with others to achieve the best results. This is also a good time to bring up specific examples of successful past projects you've worked on both independently and with others. You might also discuss the independent and collaborative responsibilities and opportunities you expect to take on should you receive an offer for the position.
