is it safe to use real candles inside the faux mercury glass (if finish is applied inside) since the paint is flammable? I'm sure using the candle already in glass like she shows helps.. Love it!
Your House a Home TV (2 months ago)
I would definitely use the candle inside a glass but I don't believe a dried finish would be a problem with the candle.
Такая краса у Вас выходит! Просто и в тоже пора несравненно!!!!

wow. I have a lot of clear glass vases of various interesting shapes. I didn't want to just toss them and thought, "I wish there was such a spray paint clear that I could create colored glass" I thought it did not exist until an ad on Facebook popped up about Krylon Stained Glass Spray Paint that lead me to find your channel :) can't wait to do this now. Thank you

Thank you for that, I’ve watched a lot of videos on these projects and everyone talks so much and off topic about their feelings etc, which is not why I watch I like to see how you achieved the look not how your feeling, so thank you for staying on topic and showing how, I appreciate that.

ugh...you make this look sooo easy!!! It is BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Marie Clark (5 months ago)
Can I use any spray paint ?? Tyvm
Your House a Home TV (5 months ago)
Marie Clark no you cannot use just any spray paint to get this result. Only the Stained Glass spray paint will give you that smooth clear glass look. And the Looking Glass spray paint is the only one that will give you the mirror finish.
Janet Moore (5 months ago)
Are u blotting the inside after u spray them or just letting them dry

This is exactly what I wanted to learn about and try because I LOVE mercury glass. I love your soft, calm voice and the directions are simple and easy enough for even a craft-challenged person like me to follow! Thank you so much, and I'm looking forward to more videos...maybe some Christmas decor?
Private Private (6 months ago)
This is truly wonderful. I just got turned on to some mercury glass (plastic) Solar ornaments I bought and I did not know from the online pics that I would fall in love with them so much. I love to sit outside at night and gaze at the warm, jewel-like twinkling they have and I was looking to try to actually make some complementary ornaments. Now, I know how. By the way, maybe I missed it but, why did you decide to use the Looking Glass pain on the inside usually but, the Stained Glass paint on the outside?
Your House a Home TV (6 months ago)
Private Private thank you! I used the Looking Glass spray paint with the vinegar and water mixtures to create the mercury glass look on the inside because I wanted to keep that shiny glass look on the outside of the glass. I use the stained glass spray paint on the outside to add color. This particular spray will color the glass while keeping the original shine of the glass.

how do you seal them so they won't fade
Monn D. (7 months ago)
Hi there I have a question maybe someone can help me.. Is it possible to erase permanent designs from ceramic dinner plates?. I have many that I would like to continue using but I don't like the painted designs on them. I was wondering if its possible to repaint them and still be able to use them as dinner plates... does anyone know?
Mary Z (4 months ago)
I am a china painter and I am able to remove unwanted color by using whink on it using a q-tip. Whink is caustic so be very careful with it and wash thoroughly when finished. If your piece is glazed(glossy), the area you apply whink to will lose its glossiness.
Vivi (7 months ago)
This is such a clever and beautiful technique! Thank you very much for sharing.

I have some stained glass spray paint and some sea glass spray paint do you know if they are pretty much the same? If not then I will just experiment and let you know. THANKS
Maggie T (7 months ago)
Your House a Home TV yes thanks
Your House a Home TV (7 months ago)
The Sea glass spray is more of a frosted glass look. The stained glass spray gives you a clear colored glass look. Hope that helps.
Donna Rogers (8 months ago)
So lovely!!!! Thanks for your sharing this! Do you seal this in anyway to insure the paint does not peel or chip!?Wonderful tutorial!
Your House a Home TV (8 months ago)
I did not seal these and they still look great after 2 years out on my screened porch! I use candles that come with glass/tin containers (so that they won't melt on the mercury glass) and I don't fill them with water. There has been no peeling or chipping. But you could use a clear protective spray on them if you'd like.
