397 ratings | 32746 views
Let’s take a look at what’s new in ASP.NET Core 2.1! A number of improvements big and small are here, and we walk you through them in this demo-filled session. See how ASP.NET Core 2.1 brings improvements in building WebAPIs, Razor pages enhancements, a new HttpClientFactory and much, much more. We'll also show you a sneak peak of Blazor, an experimental project we're working on to bring C# directly to the browser via WebAssembly.

Yeah for Blazor. Less dependency on the web host supporting backend coding of your choice :)
And yeah we want Blazor!
The most exciting thing for the audience was Paste JSON as classes :D.

The VS functionality is good but quite simple. I prefer this online generator instead https://toolslick.com/generation/code/class-from-json

did Microsoft implement ActiveDirectory Services in Core 2.1 as they said they will? We need it for on premise AD !

23:32 I don't get why people keep speak like that, "Controoooleeeeersssss, viiiiieeewwwwwww"?! Do they think it is fun to listen to that? Well, it is not. It is actually a disgust.

He just emphasized with it, that what he's displaying is what people are already familiar with. I think it was a great session, and I'd rather have the speaker sounding goofy than super serious, especially when it comes to demos and things don't according to plan. It's just a lot more human and relatable.

Make Blazor a fully supported product.

His voice has a buzzing sound that is really difficult to listen to.

seems okay to me. Quite like it, he reminds me of one of SNL regulars :-)

Seems fine to me.

Blazor is the most interesting technology in years. Please Microsoft, make it a full product!

Imagine never writing another line of js... makes me giggly just thinking about it.
Marius Riis Haugan (6 months ago)
Yes, please do!

Yea, I agree. It definitely looks like it could be great. I don't do front-end web mostly because I am not a fan of any of the tools, frameworks or languages that can currently run in the browser. Bringing C# to the browser is a great idea.
